22F looking for friends around PCMC?

Hii girls of Reddit! I’m 22F and I’m in Pune for the next 3 months for my internship, currently staying in the Nigdi Pradhikaran area.
Honestly, weekends have started getting a little boring. Most of my friends are back home or live too far away, so I end up spending Saturdays and Sundays scrolling endlessly or sitting in my room.
Would love to make a few genuine friends nearby to grab coffee, try new cafés, go on evening walks, explore Pune, watch a movie, or just yap about life. I’m pretty easygoing and always down for spontaneous plans.
Only girls, please. 🌻
Please don’t DM if you’re a guy since im only looking for female friends.
If you’re around PCMC (or nearby) and also looking for a friend, feel free to message me. Maybe we can make weekends a little less boring for both of us. 🫶🏻

4:45 AM. Old Monk, cigarettes, mind-fuck movies. Keep this marathon going.

Came home from my "work like I'm single-handedly keeping the Indian economy afloat, my boss pays me in character development, and my entire family gets evicted if I miss one deadline... 6 fucking days a week" job.

Lit a cigarette, grabbed a nice cutting chai, and stood there half-soaked from the Pune rains.

Picked up a quarter of Old Monk, half a plate of chicken Schezwan rice, and 4 chicken lollipops.

Took a hot shower.

Started with Episode 2 of Latent and a couple of pegs.

Then watched Totally Killer (found it through Instagram reels) while absolutely demolishing the Schezwan rice and lollipops.

Followed that up with Fight Club (5th watch) because I wanted something that'd mess with my head. Smoked a cigarette every time Tyler Durden lit one. 😂

Watched some random cringe content in between as a palate cleanser.

Now it's 4:45 AM and I'm starting Se7en because I'm in that mind-fuck movie mood and I've been meaning to watch it forever.

Planning to watch another one after this.

So... recommend me some genuinely mind-bending movies.

This one's for the people who are deep down the plot-twist rabbit hole.

Please don't recommend the usual "look how cool I am, I've watched Inception" movies. I've obviously seen all of those.

Interstellar is my all-time favourite. I've watched it more times than I can count. I'd honestly love to have one of those 3 AM coffee conversations with someone who can geek out over higher dimensions and all the crazy theories around the movie.

Already ticked off:

- Inception

- Shutter Island

- Triangle

- Predestination

- The Prestige

- Almost every Nolan movie

- And a bunch more in the same genre.

So hit me with something I probably haven't seen. Or even something I watched years ago that's worth revisiting.

Help me keep this marathon alive.

Or better yet... anyone wanna join somehow?

Does anyone else feel like basic kindness is disappearing in India?

Not trying to generalize an entire country, but lately it's hard to ignore. Deliveries, customer service, traffic, queues, public places it feels like people are quicker to shout or judge than to just have a normal, respectful conversation.

Everyone's dealing with something. Work stress, money stress, traffic that eats hours of your day, a system that doesn't make anything easy. I get it. But somewhere along the way, "I'm struggling" became an excuse to take it out on strangers who had nothing to do with it.

What gets me is it's not even big things. A delivery guy running two minutes late gets screamed at. Someone taking an extra second at a counter gets glared at like they committed a crime. Traffic turns into a competition instead of just... traffic.

Makes me wonder what kind of environment we're normalizing for the next generation. A good society isn't just better roads and taller buildings it's whether people can be decent to each other on an average Tuesday.

Half-jokingly, half-seriously this is probably why so many people romanticize moving abroad. Not because people elsewhere are secretly better humans, but because the day-to-day friction is lower, and that changes how people treat each other in small moments.

Anyway. Not hating on anyone. Just tired of the assumption that stress justifies rudeness. Curious if others notice this too or if it's just me.

Did anyone else hear a huge explosion near Vallabh Nagar, Pimpri area a few minutes ago?

I'm in the area and just heard what sounded like a really loud explosion a few minutes ago. It was loud enough to make me stop and wonder what happened.

Did anyone else hear it? Any idea what it was or where it came from?

Update: MSEDCL smart meter nightmare in Pune. It was a cross-connection, and now the technician wants an "outside settlement." What should I do?

Hi everyone,

I’m updating a major electricity bill nightmare I’ve been facing with MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) here in Pune, and it has taken a wild turn. I desperately need your advice on how to handle what the technician is suggesting now.

The Backstory & The Nightmare

For over a year, my monthly electricity bills skyrocketed completely out of nowhere.

  • My old analog meter baseline: ₹1,200 to ₹1,400 per month.
  • The "new digital meter" baseline: Instantly jumped to ₹2,200 to ₹2,400.
  • The breaking point (May Bill): A staggering ₹3,500.

The catch? My flat was completely locked and closed for 18 days out of that entire billing cycle. The only thing running was a 5-star fridge. Yet, the Mahavidyut app showed a massive consumption of 15 to 20 units per day while I wasn't even in the city.

When I first visited the local MSEB office, the staff was uncooperative, rude, and brushed me off with the classic "digital meters are always right" line.

The Breakthrough: I Investigated It Myself

Because they refused to listen, I decided to run my own audit. I recorded a video showing that when I turned on the geyser in my house, my neighbor's meter started blinking rapidly.

After 2–3 more painful visits to the office with this video evidence, the MSEDCL staff finally came to the building and confirmed a massive blunder: A complete cross-connection.

When they installed the smart meters 15 months ago, they mixed up the loads. My flat was wired to my neighbor’s meter, and their flat was wired to mine. I have been paying for their heavy usage, and they have been paying for my minimal, non-AC usage this whole time.

The Current Dilemma (The "Outside" Offer)

Now that the physical connection is finally corrected, here are the official numbers over the last 15 months:

  • The meter linked to my flat (Neighbor's actual usage): 2,800 units.
  • My actual meter (My actual usage): 1,200 units.
  • The Difference: 1,600 units.

Calculated at roughly ₹11 per unit, my neighbor owes me around ₹17,000.

Here is where it gets sketchy: The MSEDCL guy is strongly pushing both of us to settle this completely "outside." He wants my neighbor to pay me the ₹17,000 directly in cash or UPI, and he will just walk away with zero paper trail or official reporting. He explicitly warned us that if we insist on going the official route to get the bills adjusted by the department, it will freeze the accounts and take at least 4 to 5 months of bureaucratic nightmare.

My Questions to the Sub:

  1. Should I accept the outside settlement? If my neighbor agrees and pays up immediately, is it safer to take the money and close the chapter, or will this lack of a paper trail bite me in the ass later with MSEDCL records?
  2. What happens if the neighbor refuses to pay or negotiates down? If I have to go the official route, what is the exact escalation path in Pune to force MSEDCL to adjust this quickly? Do I go straight to the SDO, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), or file a PG Portal complaint?

Any advice from folks who have dealt with MSEDCL's cross-connection messes or billing disputes would be a lifesaver. Thank you
