Creo 13 Sheet Metal Flat Pattern Export w/ Sketches

Creo 13 Sheet Metal Flat Pattern Export w/ Sketches

Okay, so in Creo 13 we finally have a flat pattern export option within the flat pattern manager. Fantastic idea as the mapkey setup would be extremely simple for users. Now the issue I am finding and looking for a work around is showing sketches. We frequently have sketches on our sheet metal that our shop uses for either physical cnc engraving or laser engraving data. The problem is either you see nothing at all (regardless of flipping the part) or if you select 'Curves on Offset Surface' then it will show the sketch but also would show it mirrored (backwards) if you export a rear face. Meaning the software is seeing through the physical geometry and forcing the sketch to show. Now I have tried normal sketches with a project function (so the sketch follows the bend and flattens down on the surface), I have tried the cosmetic sketch, and I have tried using the original sketch and just doing a very shallow extrude cut. None of them will show properly just on a front view export but then not show through on the rear view. Anyone have any ideas here? I have also tried layer hiding and unhiding as I could build that into a mapkey but still no luck there either.

Have you ever encountered a situation where you needed to export data from a CAD system (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX) to create an interactive 3D web visualization? I have written a detailed guide on how to do this
