Short, Paid Study

Hello,

I am a fourth-year student at William James College completing a doctorate in clinical psychology. For my doctoral studies, I am currently conducting research on how people respond to social media posts that include suicidal content.

Your participation will include: reading a TikTok post and providing responses to questions about your reaction to the message. You will be asked to rate the likelihood that you would take any of several actions. You will also be asked to provide information on your age, race, education level and zip code to determine your geographic area of the country.

This study seeks individuals who wish to receive compensation for this timed 15-minute study in return for a good-faith effort to answer questions honestly and thoughtfully. This 15-minute study will use timing software to allow full consideration of each question and task and prevent rapid and inattentive responding. The study will take the full 15 minutes to complete. Compensation will be $4.00 for attentive and careful participation. The Qualtrics code for compensation will be provided at the end of the study.

Participation is confidential. Your individual information will not be shared with anyone outside the study personnel and publications will include only group data.
