How to duplicate layer?
Duddde how can I totally forget how to do this??? How do you duplicate a layer in the new Paint Tool Sai 2 update? Is it an error? :o Also sharing art I did using sai! :D

Layer textures intensity darkening image + brushsize lag
Unsure if this is a feature or a bug, but seeing as it didn't work this way in the previous version I'll assume its a bug because it just looks wrong. Also brushsize doesnt transition smoothly - those are the two bugs annoying me most thus far and I barely even used it, this is the 5/7 version.

brush shape not registering?
ive updated my sai but my brush shapes arnt registering in any non-scatter brushes? ...despite the fact there all IN my brush shape files???
im not yet on the most recent update as im a little affarid 2 tinker with it rn , long story short it was an aploot head ake that took me & my freind 2 days 2 sort cuz cloud fucked up a LOT my files when trying 2 update so i could get dark mode and ive only not gotten the program functional again) its also not registering my colour swatch eather but thats less an issue

SAI2 from older version not letting me open it in Alpha version
Anybody has the same problem? PSD is working fine, but it is not my type of files (give arts saving too long if canvas is big). The Sai2 from my older version just an empty canvas in Alpha.

Asking for help with new update
Hello! I feel kinda stupid for asking but I think I dodn't update properly 😭 I don't see an option for dark mode (from what I looked from other post it should be in "Window") or the mesh transform. I am not sure what I did wrong.
I downloaded the files from the website (tried both versions), unzipped and replaced the files in the folder of the older version. Idk if there is anything wrong with the files. I previously had an external mod for dark mode but I just uninstalled it.
I'm a bit lost with the new update as I find myself in this trouble :') Plz help, I'd love to have the new features!

Can't "save/save as" my files
Hello again!
I have legal sai license, and im currently using sai2 alpha on windows 11.
For some reason, i noticed that Sai doesnt want to save my files in a folder im using to store sai/psd files.
It has no issue saving stuff in other folders, but as soon as im trying to save it to different format (from psd to png) it locks again and is not letting me save. There's the popup, i can change formats, but when im clicking on the "save" button its not doing anything. I tried spamclicking to see if it'll do anything, but no reaction whatsoever.
Any ideas how to fix it and what is causing this? I tried researching solutions, but nothing seems to be working.
Update: I tested if i can save things on my other disc drive, and it seems to be saving and saving as with no problem, so i assume something might've locked that ability on my main drive. Still looking deeper into it, but i understand it a bit less now.

drew an artwork with the recent SAI2 update!
there are a few bugs that affect my workflow a bit, such as perspective transform having exception error, add/remove to lasso is a bit janky, fonts not loading and the hand (move canvas) tool sometimes not triggering?
but i love all the new updates, i used the lattice tool a lot and scatter brush making tool, and of course dark mode!!

Saving not working
Hello, I installed the newest version of SaiV2 (2026.07.04) and for some reason I can not save anything. Is this something others are experiencing too? Is there a way I can fix it?
I am loving the dark mode and the mesh transformation but without being able to save anything I can't use the new update
(And yes I added my licence in the folder)

Add Bug tag?
I propose to the mod to add a "bug" tag to help Mr. Koji to look into bugs in the alpha. I work a lot in this software, and I want it to be free of errors, so if I can help with bugs in spots and make his job easier, I'm Happy to help

Well, this bug I found is, I work a lot with this program with a second monitor, so I use the floating window a lot for references. Sometimes, in the references want to pan out some other region and move it directly on the second monitor, but the space bar doesn't behave the way it should.

SAI2 update windows issue
Just to keep it short, for some reason whenever i try to open the new SAI trough my taskbar or even make a shortcut on my desktop to open it Windows blocks it and warns me about how web files like those can be dangerous and i don't know why.

Layer Effects (Paper) not working properly
Hello! I recently moved from 2019 version of sai to 2026 version of sai, and everything is great and lovely, except Layer Effects.
See, for some reason, the layer effects appear as if they were constantly on "multiply" mode, with little to no actual texture
Is there any way to fix it? Here's the comparison with 2026 vs 2019 texture (the lighter one is the older version)
