Maternity wear in Pakistan

Any other moms here struggle as much as I did to find comfortable maternity clothes and undergarments during pregnancy?

I found that most options were either uncomfortable, poor quality, hard to find, overpriced, or just not designed with a pregnant body in mind. Finding supportive bras and comfortable underwear was especially frustrating.

Was this your experience too? What were your biggest challenges when shopping for maternity wear and undergarments? What do you wish had been available that wasn’t?

Did your baby take a pacifier or refuse it completely?

My baby is almost 8 months old and has never taken a pacifier. We tried a few times when he was younger, but he just wasn’t interested.

Did your baby love a pacifier, hate it, or never take one at all?

What baby item was NOT worth the money?

For me, it was the baby carry cot and the swing 😭I was so sure we’d use them all the time, but they barely got used.

What’s one baby item you regret buying or didn’t get your money’s worth from?

What baby item was 100% worth the money?

For me, definitely the bassinet and stroller. I used both so much and never regretted buying them.

What baby item was worth every penny for you?

Which was harder: pregnancy tired or newborn tired?

Both are exhausting, but in completely different ways

Pregnancy tired had me falling asleep anywhere, but newborn tired had me functioning on broken sleep and pure survival mode 🤣

Which one was harder for you: pregnancy tired or newborn tired?

Be honest moms… did breastfeeding help you lose weight or not?

always hear such mixed experiences about breastfeeding and weight loss

For me, I’ve actually lost 10 kg and I’m 7 months postpartum, exclusively breastfeeding

Did it help you lose weight or did you hold onto it?

What was your birth plan, and did it go the way you wanted?

My birth plan was to have a completely natural vaginal birth without an episiotomy. After a 27-hour labor, my delivery ended up requiring vacuum assistance and an episiotomy. It wasn't exactly how I had hoped things would go, but in the end both baby and I were safe and healthy.
My birth plan was:
• Immediate skin-to-skin
• Breastfeeding
• Vaginal delivery
• Epidural
• Vitamin K for baby
I ended up getting everything on my list, although my water was broken by the nurse when I was 10 cm dilated.
What was your birth plan, and how closely did your actual birth match it?

What did your baby sleep in after outgrowing the bassinet?

My baby is 7.5 months old and still sleeps in his bassinet, but I know we’ll need to make the switch soon

I’m not sure what to get next. What did your baby move to after the bassinet, and how did the transition go?

Moms, did you scream during labor?

Did you scream, cry, stay quiet, or completely surprise yourself during labor and delivery?

I’ll go first, I screamed way too much during active labor and while pushing. At one point I told the nurses I was going to jump off the bed and I kept pulling off my blood pressure cuff and pulse monitor 😭

Labor really brings out a different side of you 🥲What was it like for you?

Do you wipe your baby after every diaper change?

I’m curious what everyone does

I personally don’t use wipes. I wash my baby with water after every diaper change, so I’ve never really wiped after changes.

What’s your routine? Do you wipe every time, only for poop, or use water instead?

What was your first pregnancy symptom?

Looking back, what was the very first sign that made you think you might be pregnant before you even took a test?
For me, it was breast tenderness. My breasts were so sore and painful that I just knew something was different. What was yours?

How did you end up delivering your baby?

I feel like everyone goes into pregnancy with a plan, but things don’t always go the way we expect

Did you go into labor on your own, get induced, or end up having a C-section? I’d love to hear how it happened for you.
