I’m a first-time mom and currently trying to figure out what’s actually worth buying before the baby arrives. There are so many products out there that it’s honestly a bit overwhelming.
I’ve been looking at different baby gear brands and trying to focus on things that are safe, practical, and won’t become useless after a few weeks. For parents who’ve already been through the newborn stage, what were the items you genuinely used every day? And were there any things you bought that ended up being a waste of money?
Would love to hear your must-have list and any tips for avoiding unnecessary purchases.

Anyone want to share stroller recommendations? There are so many choices, and no baby stores where I live. Therefore I am relying heavily on YouTube and reviews. (Gina on Destination Baby YouTube is amazing.) I am due in December 2026. I have determined that I will need two separate strollers, one to stay at home for everyday, all terrain walks. and then a compact travel stroller. We love walking every morning and night. Its hot where we live to trying to find purchases to somehow fight the heat if possible. I want a bassinet for the first 6 months.

For All Terrain stroller, I am considering Fox 5 Renew for breathable bassinet with the mesh side panels, big sun canopy for island sun, and big seat. But its like $1550 with the accessory bundle? Is that even worth it? Curious if children out grow it quickly?

The Thule Urban glide 4 is also appealing. Cybex Avi Spin looks great too, but I am not a jogger and 3 wheels seems intimidating.. We also like the idea of the Cove 2, Veloce TC from Peg Perego, but not sure if anyone has experience with those strollers.

For travel stroller, I really like the Cybex Coya. It has a mesh ventilation seat, super compact, high canopy clearance for taller/older kiddos.

Any other recommendations that I may not have considered?

help!!! I live in Leicester and have a 2 year old son. I cannot find ANY classes on the weekend… everything is during the week - as a working parent its impossible!

any suggestions for classes and activities?
