Like for fucks sake. I'm not expecting everyone who posts here to have figured out how to put together a PG fit down pat. PG is friggin' hard imo; me, I have adopted a lot of aesthetics by now, but PG to this day remains one of the more difficult ones to coordinate for some reason...

However...

OMG look, there's pink in it! So pastel goth, amirite?

Yeah I'm starting to get the impression these people are under the assumption that "pastel" is just synonymous with "colourful".

Bright pink is not pastel.

Red is not pastel.

Regular ol' purple is not pastel.

White is not pastel..! Omg... 😅

Ofc you could still have any of those colours in PG, but some people seem to think that just having those colours and no pastel at all gets them a pass.

And it goes without saying, but I'm not referring to the OF spammers, I know that they couldn't care less about what they post where. With normal folks posting non-promotional stuff though, you expect a greater level of attention, no?

Idk. It's just weird. Some of this stuff I end up removing is so wildly off-target that it confuses me. Rant over!

Edit: I'm realising I may need to clarify, since I've received a harrassment report on this already--that pic up there is me lol, I'm not calling out some random user. I just included it as an example of what I would not post here. XD

I'm in my mid 30s and have been some flavor of goth adjacent for the past 20 years (style, music, etc) and I'm becoming more curious about exploring pastel goth.

I don't normally need internet validation for style choices but I kind of need my hand to be held here! I think i would look great in pastel goth. I have albinism with long white hair. Pastels, especially blues and lavender, look great on me. I scroll through etsy and My Violet and sigh longingly. But I feel so anxious that I'll look silly!

I have no issue going to Costco in six inch heels and fishnets and a harness if it's all black. Maybe I subconsciously think pastel is more juvenile?

I need a little friendly encouragement please!
