So there’s apparently rehearsal audio floating around from Perfume’s Nebula Romance Tokyo Dome show but it’s not just one clip.listen closely because of all the noise outside the venue.the setlist of this is some intro i think and the enter the sphere and spending all my time and after that is cut off but there was another remix of something.i think this was at some rental arena warehouse thing.theres very little fan blogs about this on bilibi.
and there were multiple short recordings and they kept getting deleted almost immediately after being posted. The clips that did get saved seem to capture parts of the rehearsal including an intro section Enter the Sphere and EVEN Spending All My Time. But the key thing is none of this was ever confirmed as part of the final setlist and i’m guessing maybe it was scrapped but even Enter the Sphere feels like something we were never meant to hear at all.thanks to the person who got the audio and was sneaky enough.
there was uploads & quick deletions and not much discussion yet. So it’s hard to even say how complete the material was before i guess.
hey there, is there anyone who was on perfumes 3rd world tour in london 2014 and might have recordet handy man back then ?
i know this is already some years ago but if you know anyone or have any video of the performance i would be happy to see it, i dont care if the quallity is bad, i have been a perfume fan since 2011 and right when they release handy man in 2013 i fall in love with the song and it is untile now my absoulute favorite song, thx for any help ^^
hey hi!
well a brief question, I know that back in 2020 they had released the costume book, I wanted to know if there was a notice or something about the final edition of this book getting released to the public after the costume museum in 2025, I heard that they were selling some kind of a special edition on the museum, dunno if thats true tho.
With that, is there a way to get either this one or the old one nowdays? I’m trying to build a fashion book colletion and I wanted this to be my first one lol.
And something that I think is kinda impossible to get nowdays, the Cosmic Explorer Tour Crew Jacket, I couldn’t get it when it was announced due to many reasons including customs.
I wanted to know if there’s a slight chance to get a semi-new one with the accessories, idk, just wanted to try since its something that I wanted to have for my collection of their merch.
Thank you!
I was checking some videos on yt and found this channel which content consists of 3 covers of songs from Perfume... completely different from the original tracks, but thought they're very good.
Have you guys ever checked these before??
so I'm gonna make some videos about each girl and characters that give off the same vibe as them, and in order to avoid mischaracterisation (I dunno if I can use this term to real people but whatever), I need your opinion about these questions:
Does Ayaka (A-chan) reminds you more of Stella, Bloom or Musa?
Do you think that Yuka (Kashiyuka) is more Fluttershy coded or Rarity coded?
Do you think that Ayano (Nocchi) is more like Tecna or Musa?
(My Japanese isn't 100% so definitely a few parts I would have missed/not entirely understood.)
The film opens with Perfume, after their dress rehearsal for the Nebula Romance done show, asking their staff to please gather around and read an important announcement - the cold sleep announcement that would be published the following day.
Then we go back in time a bit to the planning stages of the dome tour, and what leads up to that announcement.
There is no narration, just footage of rehearsals and meetings leading up to the dome performance, plus talking head interviews with Perfume and Mikiko.
They talk about their history from high school through to now, but not a lot of detail and most Perfume fans would know the lore anyway.
So I was hoping for some interviews with Nakata and Daito Manabe, but they weren't included (I assume Nakata would have immediately declined, haha). Manabe appears briefly at a staff party though.
Something that really surprised me was how the staff were notified on such short notice. I had assumed this was a decision years in the making, given how many people are involved with Perfume. And a~chan brings up that she feels bad about wanting to take a break because it would affect so many people's jobs. But the filmed discussions with Mikiko (who comes across very much like a second Mum to Perfume), make it seem like it was something they had been thinking about seriously only in 2025.
The film goes up to their final 紅白 performance, and shows the clock at midnight on Dec 31st - the start of their cold sleep.
At the end we see some of their 2026 activities, like Kashyuka's haircut, Nocchi getting laser eye surgery, and a~chan doing a photoshoot in her wedding dress (she had Perfume Staff help her with everything, their costume designer did the dress, hair and makeup team also involved).
Lastly, some cute observations:
Pepe and Popo are featured throughout, and are very cute. Also in the end credits, Perfume's family are credited for footage used and it's like "Yuka-mama" "Nocchi-baachan" haha.
While I’ve been doing my Perfume deep dive, I thought I’d go through the Capsule albums at the same time.
It did make things a bit unbalanced because Capsule were very prolific until around the Level3 era so it’s felt more like a Capsule deep dive than a Perfume one 😂
That being said, I’ve enjoyed almost everything I’ve heard, especially from Fruits Clipper onwards, how about you? I’ve just reached World of Fantasy so I guess I’ll start adding Kyary into the mix from now too (especially as Capsule slowed down a lot in the 2010s)
Without giving away any spoilers, my impression was that Perfume is supported by many staff members, and I was impressed by their strong enthusiasm.
So many bands and artists took years long breaks and came back to be active (Utada Hikaru comes to mind) but for some reason I see the fandom (at least the international one, I'm not sure if the Japanese fans share the same thoughts) assuming that the girls most likely will not come back/disband?
And I just don't get it. Perfume were always very passionate about what they do, they don't seem to be pressured by their label or staff to constantly release and succeed and just enjoy their careers on their own terms and have some freedom (like when Nocchi collabed with Shiina Ringo) and I just don't see a major reason for them to never return since the environment they were in seemed much better than a standard idol industry and the fact that they're respected veterans.
Sure, they might not be back if they don't feel like it or are not ready and that's fine, but I personally find it unlikely that it's gonna be forever.
But yeah, just asking because I see this attitude on various platforms (last.fm, facebook fan groups) not just on the subreddit lol
I saw this in a YouTube comment the other day... the Japanese word for "perfume" is 香水 or "kousui" which sounds a bit like "cold sleep". See Jisho: https://jisho.org/word/香水
Now that I've looked it up, listening to the new Cold Sleep track I can't unhear them singing "kousui" rather than "cold sleep" in the chorus 😄 Hearing it like that, the song takes on more of a self-referential feeling, almost like "Perfume" on Complete Best.
Has anyone noticed this before? Has it been referenced anywhere by the group (or in the documentary)? I can't imagine it's purely coincidence... after all, the founding story of their group's name was based on something similar...
Song availability depends on your timezone. The song is quite energetic.
Perfume posted a new video about the documentary, and it includes a preview of the new song they made for it, along with a few new clips from the documentary that weren’t shown in the original trailer.
I only started using Spotify in 2017, before then I pirated all my music, so had it counted for my teen years the minutes would be way higher as well.
I'd love to see them, even if just once in my life ;___;
Mr. Shigeki Okubo interviews Director Taketoshi Sado about Perfume's Cold Sleep Documentary - 25 Years Anniversary - Documentary, about his process and what is like to work with Perfume for this project. Please enjoy and look forward to it!
WHAT DID SHE DOOOOOO oh my god I’m so curious. Also her making english stories warm my heart it’s so cute how she wants to make sure international fans can understand her.. and she got very good at english too
Apparently, a lot of people in this subreddit think it's a weak song compared to others.
I was really surprised when I read the comments because I really think it's a good song and VERY fitting for the anime.
Almost everyone where I'm from watched Doraemon growing up, or at least knows about it if they're from older generations. The few people I asked for their opinion on the song agreed with me (they don't know Perfume though).
So my question is: do you guys watch Doraemon? Maybe it could be a big influencing factor if you're familiar with the anime.
