My heart is broken after watching a stray puppy die in front of me

For the past week, my husband and I had been regularly feeding a very fragile and scared stray mother dog and her puppy. We had become quite attached to them.

Last night, I was sitting beside the mother and the puppy. My husband was on the other side of the road, holding our dog. He said, “Before we go home, I’ll pet the puppy once. You come and hold our dog.”

The puppy was still drinking milk from his mother, and my husband hadn’t even gone near him yet. I started walking towards my husband to take Manu from him.
And within those few seconds, a car accidentally ran over the puppy.

It happened so suddenly. The puppy cried, collapsed, his eyes partially closed, and his tongue started twisting. He became completely unresponsive. I kept patting him, not knowing what else to do.

There was a 24/7 pet clinic nearby, so we took him there immediately. Honestly, even before leaving, I had a feeling that he was already gone because his head had gone completely limp and he wasn’t responding at all. But we still needed a vet to confirm.

The clinic confirmed that he had passed away. We handed him over for cremation and paid for the cremation arrangements.

What is breaking my heart now is his mother. She was right there when it happened. After we came back home, she was still waiting. She eventually went back to her usual spot, but I can’t stop thinking about what she must be feeling or whether she knows her puppy is gone.

I know it was an accident. There was nothing intentional about it. But I keep replaying those few seconds in my head and thinking about how everything changed so quickly.

I just really hope his little mother is okay. 💔

PS: Mom dog has one more healthy black male pup. He is up for adoption. DM for pics if you’re interested to adopt the black male pup.

My Chocolate Labrador Lashley was Abandoned without my knowledge. I'm Still Looking for Him.

This post is a part of my final attempt to find my chocolate labrador lashley who was abandoned 5 years ago by my father. I will first post a short introduction before explaining lashley's story in detail.

About Lashley:

Chocolate Labrador Retriever

Nicknames: Boochie, Dachaley, Laboli

Distinctive white patch on his chest also known as bolo marks

Age when he was abandoned - 3 1/2 years old

Current age - 8 to 9 years old

Last known area: Domlur, Bengaluru (near Jogupalya, Indiranagar & Ulsoor)

If anyone living in Bangalore recognizes him, knows someone who might have adopted him, or have any information at all—even if it seems insignificant—please leave a comment or contact me through WhatsApp/call +91 8660826795

Detailed explanation of what actually happened & why he was abandoned

Back in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my family was going through a very difficult time financially and personally. Also during this time my father was suffering from severe chronic depression and other mental issues. After some time we had just moved to a new house, so my dad left Lashley to stay at my grandmother's house and claimed he would bring him to our new house. My father told me he would bring him to our new home once everything settled down. But few months passed by and this did not happen. During that time I used to visit him during the weekends. Some of the pics & videos i have posted here are during that time

So one day without my knowledge, according to my grandmother's account he claimed to take lashley for a walk and when he had returned lashley wasn't there with him. When he was asked about it he told her he had sold it or given it to someone but did not mention the specifics like to whom. When he came home he did not tell us about this. A few days later, my father took his own life at my grandmother's house. It was only then that we found out. During that time, our family was consumed by the shock, grief , funeral, legal matters, and everything that followed after my father's death so our thoughts were consumed by this and finding lashley wasnt at the forefront of our minds I also did not want to disturb my mother and other family members by bringing this up.

After some time we decided to search for lashley but had no idea where he went or with whom he was. We visited some well known breeders and rescue organisations but couldn't find him. Also found out that my father had also given away lashley's vaccination certificates & other things like prescriptions from the vets. So i had lost hope and finally decided that it was almost impossible to ever see him again. I loved him so much and wanted to be with him till his final years this was what made it so bad. I couldn't even see him to wish him a final goodbye before he left me. He was an extremely expressive and affectionate lab who always loved to be around me. I can't imagine how panicked and lost he must have felt after he was given away. He loved me like no other dog ever did. So I just suppressed those memories and went on with my life. But it just didn't work. For the past few months I have been feeling intense regret that I didn't do enough to find him, that I had in a way betrayed him. I kept dreaming about him regularly - both positive and disturbing dreams. So i finally decided I need to make a final and serious attempt to find him before he leaves this world. I want to be with him through his final years.

My search efforts will be both offline and online - I will visit every rescue organisation, veterinary clinics , breeders, pet boarding schools and kennels in my city. I will also be creating pages on every social media platform where I will be documenting and updating my search efforts. Even if the search fails i atleast get to preserve lashley's memories and get to tell his story to many. Hope this post wasn't too long. Thank you for reading

Willow (2.5 months old, grey, female kitten) looking for a forever home in Bangalore

Willow is a cute little female kitten. She is only 2.5 months old. She meowed outside our backdoor and then waltzed in asking for food, pets and cuddles.

We have given her a round of deworming and defleaing. We have also done the first round of vaccinations for her.

She will be very grateful to anyone who can give her a forever home.

She wants a lot of playing. Every object (living or non-living) is a toy for her and will be attacked. :P

I need somebody who can foster my white retriever for sometime like a month or two till the time I get settled in the new place. Get a hang of the city and get a proper rented apartment.

I have tried boarding him with kennels but the dog doesn't seem happy when he comes back. It feels more like a transaction.

My dog is pee and potty trained.

Urgent appeal for adoption

Hi everyone! This baby is approx 4 months now and her vaccinations are done, she is been regularly dewormed.

So the story with her is that one of my friends wanted a cat and then adopted her but then he had some issue with his family due to which he could not keep her. Since she was very small at the time and I felt bad I offered to keep her with me till his issues at home got sorted. Three months in he completely ghosted and stopped receiving my calls and texts now.I had kept her because he kept visiting and promised that he would sort it out. I also got her vaccinated. Now I have to leave bangalore for my job and I have no idea what to do. I want to find her a nice caring home. Please help me with that.I would appreciate everybody’s suggestions as well as I have to leave soon.

Need help in spaying a mother cat 🫶

Hello everyone
i wanted to know if anyone can help me spay a female cat

The female mother cat( Subbhi ) - around 2+ years old has already given birth to 4 sets of kittens and 5 kittens every time
We are fostering her and one more kitten(which i am trying to get it adopted)

But the main problem is she doesnt stay at our place all the time , ik we have to trap her and not feed her anything atleast 6 hrs before the surgery , Which i will make sure i do and take all the necessary steps

but we dont know any place that does it safe and at an affordable price too , all the local vet clinics charge a lot of money for the surgery
I am aware of CUPA, Jayanagar branch , but at this time ..That affordable price is also difficult for us to gather

i wanted to know if anyone can help/ sponsor for her spaying surgery , I can take her there and take care of her even after the surgery

Location - Rajarajeshwari Nagar ,Bengaluru
Contact -
Email - bobanyaaru@gmail.com

It would be of great help for her
Thank you

2 bonded pair of orphaned kittens for adoption - Bangalore

Just a week ago they lost their mother cat to a fatal dog attack, leaving these helpless baby brothers completely alone to navigate a world that hasn’t been kind to them. They are currently surviving outdoors under constant threat, with few people trying to chase them off and clearing away their food. They cling to each other for comfort and watch each other’s backs every single day as a bonded pair. All they want is a loving home where they never have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. I already have a cat who is extremely territorial and hence cannot foster them or adopt.

Details
Age - 2 months old
Gender - 2 males (one ginger tabby & one grey tabby)
Health- healthy, very active, playful, eating well and full of energy.
Location- nallurhalli, whitefield, Bangalore.

Adoption requirements
Strictly indoor only, safe cat proofed home with netted balconies.
Vaccination, deworming and Neuter
Lifelong care and love

If you've been looking to adopt a bonded pair so they can grow up together as lifelong companions, this is the perfect pair for you!

We would love for them to be adopted together as a bonded pair, but loving individual homes will also be considered.
If you have a home for these little survivors, please DM us immediately. Even if you cannot adopt, please share this post—your single share could literally save their lives.

Serious Inquiries Only:
If you are genuinely interested and ready to offer a safe, loving home to these baby brothers (together or individually), please take 2 minutes to fill out our screening questionnaire:

https://forms.gle/X5iSuh2Ns3LbBzxy8

We will review all serious applications promptly and reach out directly via WhatsApp to discuss next steps. Thank you for helping us find them a safe, permanent home!

Need help with neutering and vaccinating stray kittens

hello everyone, I know this might be the wrong subreddit. We have four stray kittens near my house. They must be four to five months old. I want to vaccinate them and neuter them. I have been giving them food regularly. Do you guys know any NGOs that help with this? CUPA isn’t picking my calls. CARE said they don’t do this. And Karunas said the same as well. The kittens aren’t socialised as well. We would have to trap them and then neuter them. I’m willing to pay some amount as well. I can’t take these kittens anywhere on car or in auto. And they run away from me as well other than the occasional scratch

Does anyone want to adopt a cat? or know any good shelters IN Yelahanka , bangalore?

I rescued a kitten 9 months ago, and decided to take him in and named him Marco. But now, I have to move into hostel and I can't just let him go out in the streets again. I'm scared and too terrified in leaving him after being with him for so long.

My family is a pure veg, Hindu and them being insanely religious and superstitious i had a hard time convincing them, and even after convincing them , they did not support us much.

It was really tough for us but Marco was really strong and brave, and I'm so proud of him but now I need someone who can provide him with the things i couldn't or a shelter where he can be safe and healthy.

I really need your help guys, please anyone 🙏

I can't do this alone, I can't let our story end with me going to hostel....
