Dragon is a great CEO cat executive overlord
work with rescues and I transport. This past weekend I participated in a pretty epic reddit rescue. This is dragon, he is becoming reddit famous at least among the cat people. His rescue person is someone who fights for people's right and stands up for what she believes in.
This was also the first time I too my son with me on a long distance one and he was amazing.
Unfortunately this long distance one caused a small blood clot in my leg ( totally my fault,I have a wonky body and didn't stop and move enough) So I put some thing together I've been thinking about for a while. A sub reddit thst helps connect people who need help with an animal to those who can help. Plus people like me who will drive to exchange the pet. And if needed people can donate gas money etc.
Im not a healthy person. Im disabled. Many people here have seen my weird shoulder xrays. I can't participate in TNR or helping with community cats. I haven't been able to foster hospice or senior kitties for the past few years.
But now I can. I adopted a FIV kitty. I started small transportation jobs as soon as I got my car back from my ex. But... there are so many animals and people that need help, and many people who want to help, they just need a way to find each other. So I did
r/helpinghands4pets a community that does exactly that.
Dragon is FIL positive and beat ip by other cats. The redditor who takes care of the cats got him to the vet which is where they found out he was FIL+. She couldn't keep dragon because of serious allergies. But that is where reddit came through. Another redditor said she would take him. But there was a pretty big problem. Dragon was in Fort wayne Indiana and the rescue person was in Chicago. This is where I came in. I have a ton of cat stuff, everything from extra litter and litter boxes to toys to meowajuana. At first I thought I could mail his rescue person a care package of goodies. But then we realized Dragon had no way to get there. So, I loaded up my kiddo a large crate and a literal trunk full of goodies.
Then my paycheck had been taken back from the issuer. I thought it bounced at first. But people stepped up. They donated gas money ( and for food, i was told we must get souvenirs for my grandspawn and my son and my sons half brother, a redditor donated money specifically for thst) plus the rescue person got us a hotel room as it was late and dragon was stressed
We got to Chicago and I said goodbye to to Dragon, thinking " ok maybe cattypali will at least text me in a week or so and tell me she got hm to a rescue "
Turns out Kat is pretty famous, that combination of his original rescue and Kat taking him makes a great story and a big impact.
So r/helpinghands4pets is now up. Im fleshing it out and when I get out of the hospital and on my computer I will have a complete mission statement. I will talk to a lawyer/animal husbandry activist about a 501c charity.
Please join my reddit and pass it on
My beautiful warrior Jasper crossed over the rainbow bridge today. I am gutted.
To cute
This has got to be the best picture bye far that I have of my baby willow !
This pillow definitely seals the deal for him
Curiosity killed the cat, but onions just made him rethink his life choices 😭😂
This blind rescue kitten finally learned what happiness feels like! He is safe and healthy!
He only drops his stick for one reason...
One just got GI surgery and one will be used for a sandwich
Can’t tell which is which
