I’ve been tracking my progress since March and wanted to share my 3-month update. My crown was thinning, but I’m seeing some really encouraging results so far.

My Treatment Timeline:

March 2026: Started with Plain Minoxidil + Ketoconazole shampoo.

April 26, 2026: Transitioned to "Minoxtret" (Minoxidil + 0.1% Tretinoin).

May 14, 2026: Added Finasteride (1.25mg EOD).

Observations:

I feel like I'm a "hyper-responder." I noticed changes to my hair density and even some new vellus hairs appearing on my cheeks much faster than I expected. The switch to the Minoxtret mix and the addition of Finasteride seem to have supercharged the process.

My Routine:

Minoxtret: Daily application (0.50ml on the crown, 0.50ml on the face).

Finasteride: 1.25mg Every Other Day.

Maintenance: Consistent morning washes and a high-protein diet.

Consistency is definitely the key here. Looking forward to seeing even more density by the 6-month mark! Happy to answer any questions about the routine. Special thanks to u/icarusjun who has been a huge help in answering all my questions.

Hello! I stumbled upon this group while searching about PRP hair treatment. After reading several post here, I’m interested to try Finasteride. Kirkland Minox lang gamit ko for a year now pero wala naman changes.

Question lang where to buy Oral or Topical finasteride? Need po ba prescription? Daily din ba apply like minoxidil?

Hello, I’m a 23-year-old male. I recently consulted a dermatologist and was diagnosed with male androgenic alopecia. The doctor prescribed medications, but since I just started working, I currently don’t have enough budget to afford them.

I’d like to ask for recommendations from people who have experienced or are currently experiencing the same condition. Are there any cheaper substitute or generic brands for the prescribed medications? I’d also appreciate any advice or alternative treatments that helped you manage hair loss. Thank you.

Hello everyone, kanina lang umaga nag paconsult na ko sa derma via online consulation.

(Long explanation, I’m very sorry)

I’m not financially okay, my family in general, and this journey is for life (sana pumado after college) I am a 2nd year college student and most of my money is from ipon lang and galing sa magulang.

Mag t-two months narin akong nag oobserve dito sa sub and medyo nakukuha ko naman na ang concept ng Male Patter Baldness and ang purpose ng minoxidil and finasteride. Nagpaconsult talaga ako mostly for safety, confirmation and vaidation narin para confident ako sa gagawin ko.

FINASTERIDE CONCERN:

What I know pagdating sa finasteride na safe way lalo sa beginner ay 1mg at MWF schedule, and ang nakalagay sa prescription ay 5mg once a week. Tama lang po ba? I know naman na derma na ang nagsabi pero parang kinda different lang sa mga nabasa ko hindi lang dito sa sub kundi sa iba rin na 1mg talaga.

MINOX. CONCERN;

For minox, I have using it na for almost one month na rin bago ako nagpaconsult today, I’m sukng kirkland minoxidil once a day lang (I know naman po na its suppose to be twice a day, pero tinitipid ko rin po sya, galing lang din po sa ipon hehe). Pero I’m planning to switch naman sa Tret+Minox pag kaubos ng Kirkland ko.

SHAMPOO:

Okay naman na ako sa shampoo since yung nireseta naman is nakikita ko rito sa sub. Other than Male Pattern Baldness, I am also diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, something with dandruff tho hindi naman talaga severe yung dandruff ko.

OTHER PRESCRIPTION:

For Prednisone and Clobetasol, is it really necessary? pwede ko po ba syang hindi i-take and okay lang po ba yun sa derma ko? (may follow up pa po kasi after 2 weeks). I know minox, fin and proper shampoo is enough.

DERMA CONCERN:

I know I should ask all of this mismo sa derma, I tried pero hindi na nakapag-reply, even sa call nag ask ako kung pwede mag tanong ng few questions pero sabi nya sa chat nalang daw, ito pala ang struggles kapag online consulation din. I want to clarify sana or mas mapalawak pa yung understanding ko pag dating sa side effects ng fin pero hindi na talaga nakapag tanong sa kanya.

I’m not gonna put my hair case muna kasi yung sakin is the same lang naman din sa iba.
