Follow up review of the Akbay Tech Pro bag after 3 months

So a couple of months ago, I bought the Akbay Tech Pro bag and I gave my initial impressions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualPH/s/effgFw1mX4

After 3 months, I have a couple of observations. To recap, here's the good and the bad from my first post plus some new findings.

The good:

- Outer/inner material: Held up well in the recent rains, none of my stuff inside got wet when I got caught in a sudden downpour.

- Internal organization: The built-in pockets are nice but if you need to carry more, I recommend getting some internal organization cubes.

- 3-way carry: No issues with the tote/sling carry, slight issue with the backpack carry due to the dimensions. If you're not careful, you could hit objects due to the sides sticking out

- Security: No issues here as well.

The bad:

- Few external pockets: Probably my biggest gripe. I would've liked a side pocket to put an umbrella or bottle for easy access. The side pocket is also too small for anything larger than car keys or a small notepad.

- No padding for the sling shoulder strap: Solved by buying a cheap seatbelt protector in Japan Home Center. There are also some you can buy in Shopee/Lazada. Dunno why they don't include this as standard tbh.

- Small internal side pocket: Limits the size of the bottle or umbrella you can put.

- Value: There are probably more options out there with more bang for your buck, but I like the design and the 3-way carry.

- (new) Bulk: When fully loaded, this bag can be bulky. Depending on how the internals are organized, the bag can bulge out a bit in the front and back, which can make it awkward to carry.

Despite the negatives, I'm overall satisfied with it. While not perfect, the 3-way carry implementation offers a lot of flexibility when it comes to carrying stuff around. If you need more space for your hands, you can convert it from a tote to a backpack or crossbody bag in a minute. Design thoughts are subjective, but I like how professional it looks with the clean, no-nonsense lines across the front. The big brand logo can be off-putting to some, but personally, I don't mind it that much.

If you're looking to get this, I'd also recommend checking out their new Tech Pro 2.0: https://akbay.ph/products/tech-pro-2-0-multi-way-bag

It has a taller design while the 1.0 is wider. It also has two external side pockets and it comes with a removable laptop cover. The taller, lengthwise profile also seems more suited for bigger laptops. These are some points you should consider, since they're pretty much the same price. Currently thinking of trying the 2.0 out but for now, I'm happy with my own.
