my doctor is retiring

my doc is retiring, i was just put on ativan .5mg and it has helped so so much with my anxiety and panic attacks. now he told me the new doctor i get will probs take me off it because “young doctors don’t like prescribing benzos”. im so pissed i’ve been in therapy for like a decade and tried so manny ssri’s and other medications. should i try to see if about getting a psychiatrist and my prescription through them?

PCP or psychiatrist for benzos?

I’m having a hard time getting a prescription I need, I can’t even leave the house as of lately. When you guys get your prescriptions for Klonopin or Alp is it usually through a psychiatrist or your pcp? Help a man out I’m suffering so bad I just need to be back in society
