Philips 55OLED760

Hello guys,

We're thinking to buy 55OLED760 to my friend of mine. Are there any users of this TV? Since I am also user of 55OLED807 I suggested this model to my friend but I have some concerns about the TitanOS, is it really usable or applications are good synchronized at tv?

My friend will generally watch football games and latest films on prime video, netflix etc.

Thanks

TV remote hp

Hi guys, my Phillips ambilght remote side ely stopped working, I did have a magnet near it, quite powerful from a model by accident so not sure if this has caused the issue?

it won't light up, it won't

It won't interact with the tv

I tried removing batteries and folding the power button for 60 seconds to drain and pressed all buttons a load to drain and unstick any potential sticks buttons.

I've changed batteries obviously on

Managed using tb controls to initiate pairing and it says to hold the pair button for 3 seconds (the rakuten button) and doesn't do a damn thing.

Anyone have any ideas please?

Philips TV support: 1 year of freezes, 2 failed repairs, "no defect" until the warranty expired... then they admitted the fault had already been reported

I honestly don't think I've ever had such a frustrating support experience with an electronics brand.

I have a Philips 55PUS8118/12 which has had serious problems for more than a year. The main one is not a minor app bug: the TV can become completely or almost completely unresponsive, particularly after startup. Remote commands are ignored, sometimes they appear to be queued and executed much later, and on the worst occasions the only way to recover the TV has been to physically disconnect it from power.

There is also a separate, easily reproducible problem with the integrated Alexa functionality selecting the wrong TV channels.

I first formally reported the problems to Philips in August 2025, while the TV was still under warranty.

After software reinstalls, factory resets, power cycles and diagnostics failed to solve anything, Philips opened a warranty repair.

The TV came back from the authorised service centre with "No trouble found" on the report. The problems were still there immediately. I contacted both the repair centre and Philips again and provided video evidence.

A second repair/intervention followed. Same story. The TV came back, the faults remained.

Things then became almost surreal.

In January 2026, after another escalation, Philips repeatedly told me in writing that the TV was functioning correctly and that no defect or anomaly had been found. They concentrated heavily on telling me how I should phrase Alexa commands while repeatedly avoiding my much simpler question:

Is a television that becomes totally unresponsive and sometimes has to be unplugged from the wall considered to be functioning normally?

I never received a straight answer. And in the meanwhile the warranty expired.

Suddenly Philips, recognised the defect, but told me that any further repair would have to be paid for.

I pointed out that this was the exact same fault I had reported and documented while the TV was still under warranty.

And this is where it gets particularly interesting: Philips then acknowledged in writing that the problem I was describing had already been reported in the previous case, and that this was precisely why they had opened the original repair order.

So while the TV was under warranty: "no defect, no anomaly."

After the warranty expired: yes, this exact problem had already been reported and was the reason we opened the repair. But now you have to pay.

I refused to accept that and eventually submitted a detailed formal complaint in April 2026, including the entire history, videos and failed repairs.

Philips escalated the issue again and asked me to factory-reset the TV and collect system logs. I did exactly that. The logs captured serious problems almost immediately after startup, including several minutes in which the TV would not respond properly even to basic commands.

In May they told me that everything had been forwarded to a higher-level technical team.

Then almost two months passed.

I chased them again in July.

Their latest response, on 23 July, apologised for the extremely long delay and said their technicians were still investigating the reported "anomaly" in order to identify the cause of the "malfunction" and determine an appropriate solution.

Which is rather remarkable considering that months earlier they had explicitly told me there was no anomaly at all.

It is now 18 August. Almost another month has passed without any concrete update or solution.

So after more than one year I have:

  • Two unsuccessful authorised repair attempts.
  • Multiple resets and software reinstalls.
  • Videos documenting the fault.
  • System logs requested by Philips themselves.
  • An initial written position that there was "no defect or anomaly".
  • A later written acknowledgement that the same fault had in fact been reported while under warranty and was the reason a repair was opened.
  • An even later acknowledgement that technicians are investigating an "anomaly" and a "malfunction".
  • And still no properly functioning TV and no solution.

At this point I find the handling of the case unacceptable. A €500 TV (I know, not expensive, but I have as well high end OLED+950 that luckily doesn't drive me crazy BTW) should not require a year-long technical and administrative battle just to get someone to take responsibility for a defect that was reported while the product was still under warranty.

Has anyone here had a similar experience with Philips / TP Vision, particularly with the PUS8118 series?

More importantly, has anyone found an effective escalation route beyond normal Philips customer service, ideally to someone at TP Vision who can actually take ownership of a case and make a decision?

I have the complete email history, service reports, videos and logs, so fortunately everything above is documented.

Philips Ambi light TV top half of picture has green hue.

Does anyone have any idea why this TV I bought during lockdown has always had a lack of colour on the top half of the screen. It has like a green hue, most noticeable on faces. The faces are greenish but the hands have flesh colour. It has done this since about a year of buying it and Philips didn’t even respond to my messages. I have tried updates and factory resets and altering settings and nothing works. Is the tv faulty? It’s one of those not quite that bad to bug it but then I don’t want to live with it either .

Ich suche einen Fernseher, der sich nach einem Stromausfall automatisch einschaltet und über HDMI-CEC auf Apple TV umschaltet.

**Looking for a TV that supports BOTH power-on after power loss AND HDMI-CEC with Apple TV**

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a new TV and I have a very specific requirement. **The brand doesn’t matter to me.**

I want to use a smart plug to completely cut power to the TV when I’m not using it.

I need a TV that can do **both** of the following:

**1. Automatic power-on when power is restored**

Smart plug OFF → TV has no power at all
Smart plug ON → power is restored → **TV automatically turns itself on**, without pressing the TV remote.

**2. Apple TV 4K + HDMI-CEC**

My Apple TV 4K will be connected via HDMI.

When I turn on/wake the Apple TV, I want HDMI-CEC to:

* turn the TV on if necessary
* automatically switch to the HDMI input where the Apple TV is connected

The goal is that I **never have to use the TV remote**.

I’m looking for something around **40–50 inches**, ideally **4K**, and preferably **under €250**.

The brand doesn’t matter at all. TCL, Hisense, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Philips, Panasonic, etc. are all fine.

# Does anyone here own a TV that definitely does BOTH?

I’d especially appreciate answers from people who have actually tested it with a smart plug / complete power removal.

If possible, please include:

* Exact TV model
* Screen size
* Whether it is 4K
* Whether it automatically powers on when AC power is restored
* Whether HDMI-CEC works with Apple TV
* Whether the TV automatically switches to the Apple TV HDMI input
* Any relevant setting name, e.g. **Power On Mode, Power On Behavior, Last State, AC Recovery, Auto Power On**, etc.

I’m not looking for a TV that *might* support it. I’m specifically trying to find a model where someone has actually tested this.

Thanks!
