My take on Honor Robot Phone

It doesn't use the latest tech and software. What stopped Honor to put MagicOS 11 (Android 17) to the Robot Phone immediately? And why the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, not its Leading Version?

The only explanation that came to my mind is that they do that because they wasn't creating the phone for several months. They probably been working on it for almost a whole year.

The main purpose, the robotic camera I consider is good, despite being almost anti-camera person. The phone is one of a kind, with it. But why didn't Honor remove the front facing camera due to its uselessness?

The robotic camera can do selfies, like those pop-up cameras from 2019 phones or flip camera from Samsung A80/older Zenfone phones, and it's proven by time that it's reliable enough to last the whole phone lifespan (which is 7 years in average), my 7 year old OnePlus 7T pro still has its front camera working flawlessly.

The phone is thicker and heavier than others, being 9.5mm and 248 grams. Finally! Someone did a thicker phone to put a thicker battery, 7060mah for 6.3 inch phone that ~1/3 of its internal space is camera - is a LOT.

With that - i'm more convinced that Honor - is the leading company in battery tech.

About weight, it would be alright if it was a 6.8, but for 6.3 - I must admit, even for me it would be a bit too much, but my arms isn't weak, so I'd get used to it, and I think the same about everyone about every phone that's "heavy" (when even with the massive case they're not even 300 grams, like bro, cmon).

Otterbox seems to think the iPhone 18 Pro will be able to fit inside of iPhone 17 Pro cases and vice versa. Also, Best Buy is already putting these on shelves. A little early.

I think keeping the phone percentage between 20 and 80 is useless.

Simply because you're not using the full battery capacity, which might be very important for certain days when you're using the phone more than usual. Yes, it might make the battery life longer (but who knows actually, was it really tested and proven by anyone?), but what you need to do to wear phone battery to 60%?

I abused my Redmagic 11 pro as much as I could for like 8 months, and it still has 6800mah left, which is like 90% of capacity, and that fast wearout will never happen if you don't let the battery heat more than 50° (Most of manufacturers already set this value as a battery limit, so you will be fine, unless you're a Nubia owner).

Even if end up wearing it to 60% (Which will happen only after 2 years from now with that tempo) - I'd rather change the battery, than doing some "80-20" technique that who knows if it actually works and actually doesn't let you use the whole battery capacity

Some would say powerbanks exist, but they're uncomfortable AF (even magsafe ones than makes your phone 3 times thicker and 2 times heavier), my life became way more comfortable when I started to use phones with Si-C batteries (Even if it's Redmagic 11 pro with already worn out battery, still last longer than anything I've used before)

If  Apple ever decides to make a foldable iPhone, which design do you think it is most likely to copy?

As an iPhone user, it’s quite interesting to visualise how iOS (iPadOS?) may fit in these form factors.

Hey iPhone users, what do you guys think about Android phones?

So recently my girlfriend and I got into an argument about which OS is objectively better. I think Android is—it's open, you can install any app you want, flash your phone, tons of customization options for the interface, and cameras on modern Android flagships (Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, etc.) have long caught up with iPhone cameras in quality, and sometimes even beat them. My girlfriend, though, is convinced that iOS is head and shoulders above Android—it's more intuitive and logical, everything is right where you need it.

For context:

I have a Samsung S25 Ultra 12/512

My girlfriend has an iPhone 14 Pro 6/256

Hello there!

A student from MSc in Digital Marketing from UoE here asking for your response in my research.

I'm running a short academic study on design-led branding in the mid-range smartphone segment, and I need input from real smartphone users — whether you own a Nothing phone, considered one, or actively skipped it. The survey takes about 8-10 minutes, is fully anonymous (no names, no tracking), and you're free to stop anytime before submitting.

If you're:

  • Aged between 18-45
  • Currently living in UK
  • Have a somewhat familiarity with Nothing Phone
  • and have any opinion on smartphone design or branding.

your input would genuinely help.
