[Help request] is there a way I can stop this zoom out on hand tool?

Self explanatory, when I hold the shortcut for hand tool it zooms out and it's pretty annoying because I switch between tools like the hand tool and normal zoom tool in seconds. Is there a way I can turn it off?

Masking with color range cuts out part of my design, how can I properly mask this? Still really struggling with this type of masking...

When masking my design, the mask is cutting off a good portion of the edge noise that I feel really make the design pop, I cant figure out how to fix this. Added more details below on how I created and masked the design for as much context as possible, and any help is really appreciated! This type of masking has really stumped for quite some time, so I'd love to know a good fix

Design Process: Created this design by using Gaussian Blur, Iris Blur and Ripple on my smart object logo set to dissolve blend mode, for adjustments dropped a Threshold on top, then Curves & Levels to finetuning, finally adding a desaturated paper texture overlay.

Masking Process: To try and mask the noisy dissolve effect, I exported a png to add in a second ps project, used curves adjustment to make a sharp contrast between black and white, used the eyedropper tool to select the color off the logo, then used Select Color Range; this selection is what I used for my mask.

What is this effect called and how would I go about animating it?

I’ve seen this effect being used recently and thought it would be cool to animate the smear coming from a moving object/person but I don’t know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Need Help Editing Sheer Dress

Hey everyone, need help with a way to blend the sheer part of a dancer's dress with so you cannot see where the background and floor came together. The red line on the attached photo shows where the background met the floor before the image was cutout to be placed on a clean background. It needs to be repeatable because there are multiple images. Not opposed to using AI if the prompt is correct - I haven't yet been able to find one that does what I am asking for. Thanks.

“The Night’s Mantle”

Removing background from line drawings?

Hi! So I’m really new to this, and I wanted to digitize my line art and remove the background so I could use it for infographics. However, I’m struggling with this. Could anyone recommend some mac friendly apps/websites/etc to do this? Ideally free? I reallyyyyy don’t wanna use AI, I wanna learn how to do it myself! I appreciate all the support :,) I added this pic for reference

Help how can I get this type of color?

Hello! i’m a recently graduated filmmaker so i know absolutely nothing about Photoshop editing but im trying to learn.
Long story short; I have some pictures I took on b&w film and i want to edit them so i have this kind of “silent era tinted film look” for a pitch im trying to apply, and i haven’t found any tutorial to help me trully achieve this look, most end up coloring the highlights instead of the shadows which is how I heard you can get this look, so please help.
Also is there a way i can keep the picture in b&w but only do this color correction on certain sections? Like idk a square with the edit and the rest of the image in its original b&w?
Im really sorry for my english, im chilean and i’ve been trully struggling to achieve this

Editing help

Hello! I’m a newbie-ish to editing. This was one of my wedding pics. It was taken on a Fujifilm x100v so there’s already a filter layer, but I assume there was extra editing on top of this. I was wondering if someone could give me tips on how to edit the skin/makeup/hair like this photo? I love the coloring/blending. Any tutorials suggestions is much appreciated! Thank you :)

Also I’m not seeing a help flair - so here’s my help flair: help! Plz 🫶🏻

Wide-gamut monitor + ICC profile makes everything look desaturated (Photoshop, browsers, apps) — removing the profile matches my phone. What's the correct workflow?

I'm a graphic designer working mostly on social media content /branding Hoping someone can sanity-check my color setup.

Hardware:

  • Monitor: GIGABYTE M27Q2 (wide gamut the profile measures it at ~146% of sRGB)
  • GPU: RTX 3060 Ti
  • OS: Windows

The profile:
The ICC was made with Calibrite software and the numbers look correct — D65 white point, 275 cd/m², gamma 2.2, very gentle VCGT, and a validated ΔE of 0.7. So the calibration itself is genuinely accurate this isn't a bad-profile problem.

The problem:
With the ICC profile assigned in Windows Color Management, things look noticeably desaturated/washed out not just in Photoshop, but generally: browsers, image viewers, and other apps all look flat and muted too. The moment I remove the profile from Color Management, the colors look vivid and correct again everywhere.

To settle it, I checked a design on a friend's iPhone (color-managed, P3 display) the vivid version (profile removed) is the one that matches the phone. The desaturated version does not. , any help this is driving me crazy i've done all the possible things

Was this made using Canva?

I keep seeing this template for a flyer going round on social media or in person. Does anyone know what it is? I know they look a bit different than each other but just wanting to know if it’s something that can be done through Canva or an AI

Can anyone help me reverse engineer this Photoshop/Procreate edit? I think it uses Difference blending mode but I'm stuck.

Hi everyone.

I've been trying to recreate this edit for the last three days because I really love this style and want to understand how it was made.

The original artist said they "used blending modes like Difference on Procreate", but I don't think it's only Difference.

Here's what I've figured out so far:

  • I stacked multiple portraits.
  • I used Difference blending mode.
  • I duplicated layers and tried Screen/Overlay.
  • I used layer masks to isolate the subject.
  • I experimented with Gradient Maps.

The biggest thing I can't figure out is the hair and the composition among the layers :C

In the reference image, the front hair remains visible, but it becomes semi-transparent where it overlaps the profile. It keeps its texture while letting the profile underneath show through, almost like smoke. I can't understand whether that's done with masks, another blending mode, Blend If, opacity, or something else.

I've attached both the reference and my current attempt.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain how you think this image was constructed layer by layer, rather than just telling me what filters to use.

Thank you!

Photoshop crashes every time I use Select Subject / Object Selection (Windows 11 25H2) – anyone found a fix?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out a persistent Photoshop crash and I'm running out of ideas.

System:

  • Windows 11 25H2
  • ASUS ProArt P13 laptop
  • Latest NVIDIA Studio drivers
  • Photoshop 2026 (also tested older versions)
  • Crash happens with GPU acceleration enabled or disabled

The problem:
Photoshop is completely stable until I use Select Subject or the Object Selection Tool. As soon as the AI analysis starts, Photoshop crashes and displays an error dialog after the crash, and I've submitted the crash report to Adobe. Unfortunately, the error message isn't very descriptive and doesn't point to a specific cause.

  • reinstall of Photoshop
  • Reset Photoshop preferences
  • Different NVIDIA Studio driver versions
  • Disabling all overlays and background apps
  • Testing with GPU acceleration on and off
  • Windows Memory Diagnostic (no errors)

At this point I'm wondering if this is:

  • A Windows 11 25H2 compatibility issue
  • An Intel/NVIDIA driver issue
  • Something related to Photoshop's AI features

Has anyone experienced the exact same crashes with Select Subject or Object Selection? If you managed to fix it, I'd really appreciate knowing what solved it.

Thanks!
