How do I achieve this effect?

How do I achieve this effect?

My client told me after the shoot, that they want this sort of multiple faces in one portrait.

I have been trying but it never looks like this. Any help would be much appreciated!

How to achieve this grain effect and diffuse gradient?

Hi, i've been interested in how to replicate these brand illustrations from Mercury (fintech startup). Specifically the grainy gradients you can see in the edge of the toggle button illustrations, and how certain hard edges selectively blur out-- like in the top of the bar graph and the edges of the circles. Wondering what the best way to achieve that look is, the grain looks like the built in PS grain effects but not sure how to apply it selectively on the gradient part instead of across the whole image. Thanks~

How should I size a digital artwork for a big wall print?

I have to make an illustration for a wall that is 540cm x 242 cm.

On Photoshop, do I make my canvas size 54cm x 24.2cm with 1200ppi resolution?

Or is that a flawed approach, and I should just make the digital canvas half the wall size, with 300ppi?

Could high RAM usage cause errors in the "Quick Select" tool?

Here is what happens when I use "Quick Select" to isolate the person from the background:

https://i.imgur.com/ieEw9Rl.mp4

  1. (Around the 0:57 mark) The AI goes haywire when I try selecting the subject and shoots off to select large parts of the background.

  2. (0:36) When I try removing the incorrect selection (the background), the AI stops "quick selecting" and will only select the parts my mouse is clicking on.

  3. (0:28 and 0:15) When I try to remove incorrect parts, random lines start shooting out.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Could it be due to high RAM usage? My device has 8 GB of RAM and uses 93% of its memory when I use PS.

The thing, though, is that "Quick Select" was working perfectly fine for months until recently. For the last few days, it's started acting very erratically like this when I've made no major changes to my device or PS preferences.

I'm aware I can use "Subject Select," but I want the "Quick Select" tool to work.

mirroring the view of the canvas

i tend to need to mirror the image a lot to check my work. I see that they do have a "flip image horizontally" shortcut, but it teleports me to the other end of the canvas. and on the navigator it shows that i have mirrored the entire image. How can I just mirror my view of it?

Help recreating effects in Photoshop

Hi guys!

I’m a little new to Photoshop and had a question. I have to recreate a file done by someone else at a different spec size. I need to apply a few effects/gradients that she applied but I’m not entirely sure how to recreate it.

Image 1:

  1. The blue radial layer was flattened so I’m not sure how this was done.

Image 2: (black gradient) for the gradient

  1. I usually click on the thumbnail in the layers panel and it shows me the angle colors etc. Here, when I click it just the layer style dialog box shows up. What am I missing here?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Tips on properly using Burn Tool

Anyone have any tips on how to effectively use the burn tool on portraits. I get the idea of the tool (I know it's not a difficult thing to understand) but i'm trying to be able to use it without spending TOO much time on it, or having to undo and try again on areas. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Are there glasses that “edit” what we see with our “raw” eyesight to make it as if it were edited in lightroom?

These are Enchroma glasses. I guess they are for colorblind people but glasses like these are essentially what I’m looking for. Are there any specific brands or type of glasses that can help me achieve this?

Hi, I have this picture of an old photograph that is quite blurry. Is there any way to make it clearer? I don’t have the physical photograph, only a photo of it. I tried using AI tools but it just creates its own face. It doesn’t have to be super clear just better than this while maintaining the actual photo of the person.

HELP REQUEST!

original

no hoodie layer

normal blending

I need to export just the texture on this hoodie, without the hoodie, the texture layer is currently set to linear dodge add, and when i turn off the hoodie layer, it makes the texture look terrible, and go all black.

And when i set the layer to normal, it also looks extremly weird.

I belive this is happening, because the texture looks the way it does because it has linear dodge add with the hoodie layer undeath, but when that is gone it messes it all up. so i need to somehow be able to create the same effect as linear dodge, without linear dodge.

I've had an error with my Photoshop

Hello, I’ve been working on a project for several weeks now, and just now when I tried to save it, this error message appeared. Now, when I try to reopen it, Photoshop is asking me to create a new project, and I’ve lost all progress on my project. Is this a common problem, and if so, how can I fix it? (I've already checked the permissions and opened Photoshop as an administrator)
