Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Pocatello/Eastern Idaho

🕓 5:30 PM

📍Pocatello City Hall (11 North 7th Avenue)

Make your voices heard by showing up to a Public Hearing TOMORROW, May 14th, at 5:30 PM. An AI data center has been proposed to take over the 1800 River Park Way, former Hoku polysilicon, campus. Get out and let your voices be heard! If you're concerned about what this will take and NOT give back to your community, this is your chance to come out and speak.

Activities to do?

I'm a teen living in Poki, and it's a nightmare. The only things here to do are either stupidly expensive with the limited money me and my friends have, are fun for maybe an hour (Geronimo's, Outerlimits, etc.) or are large social events. Is there anything actually fun to do asides from the usual museum or board game Café in Old Town?

Moving to Pocatello

Hi all! My family of four (2 year old and almost 1 year old kiddos) will possibly be moving to Pocatello in the near future. I was curious if anyone could give me a rundown of lifestyle, community culture, and overall options for small kiddos.
Context, we would be moving from Alaska. We are not worried about what some might consider a lack of shopping or somewhat remoteness to big cities. If anything this would be a step up for us lol. We love the outdoors!!
Thanks in advance

Taxi service

In need of a taxi service other than rides r us. Its been roughly a year since I needed a taxi but now I am in need again. Rides r us is out for me. They leave so much to be desired in a company and the management is awful especially the manager who is the owners mom or relative.

Proposed AI data center in Pocatello

These data centers do a lot of damage in the communities where they're built and raise the prices of utilities. You think your bills are high now? Just wait. Spread the word. Tell people. There's a meeting on the 14th. Get out there and tell them that you don't want yet another outside interest snatching up Pocatello land and hurting our community just to funnel dollars out of state. This probably would have been fast tracked under Blad, who knows if who's in charge is going to do any better at resisting the palm greasing. Truly egregious. Tell people, and tell those people to tell people!

I recently saw this and own this.

So I grew up in Pocatello from 80 to 89. My Mother was a big garage sale gal. Sometime within those years she acquired this. And here I have it almost 40 years later. Just wanted to share. Not looking to sell, but would like to rewire it so it’s not so dangerous.

I created and ran a fully functional tattoo shop with 1 artist, in a 120 day build here in Pocatello with the creation of A1 Tattoo Ink. The artist moved, and now I have a a business with incoming clients, complete scheduling booking system, marketing, outreach All done and no artist. This is what it looks like.

In 120 Days:

100% 5-star Google rating + response rate — strong trust layer

$5,000+ in active pipeline value — visible, trackable upside

390 local contacts captured — real people who raised their hand

234 active opportunities — organized, trackable demand.

What This Means (For Any Shop):

Most setups stop at “taking bookings.”

What we’re seeing is what happens when you build a system that:

Keeps every inquiry in one place

Follows up automatically

Makes demand visible instead of guesswork

It turns a shop into something more predictable—and a lot easier to grow.

I’m opening this up to a few local artists/shops who want to build something they actually own and scale over time.

If you’re curious how this would look for your setup, happy to show you.
