honestly audiobooks and audio dramas have completely changed the way i consume stories. like i can just plug in my earphones and get lost in a whole different world while commuting or just lying in bed doing nothing lol. no screen, no effort, just pure storytelling. and the crazy part is once you start a good one you literally can’t stop, episodes just keep playing and suddenly it’s 2am.

Is this exact version some place I can finish the story? THIS EXACT VERSION! There's different versions of the same story with different details the one on pocketfm website is not this version. Please no spoilers I've only gotten as far as this ad. If this version doesn't exist can someone please tell me why they would make a promotional ad with totally different details than the original story.

So i know this sorta thing has been brought up in different ways but im new and trying to figure this out. 2 versions of pocketfm. 1 starts out with the ai people. First few episodes they move then its still images of them for till about 300 episodes in and its anime but also still images. Can someone explain what's up with this? I also heard it goes blank and no images or subtitles at some point.

Ok so admittedly Ive been rather coy and smug, happily listening to Rory Young do his stuff on the Pocket FM series.

So ok, im now in uproar. I got to E724 and all of a sudden its some AI robotic nonsense. Please tell me Rory Young returns? Please. Its borderline unlistenable.

Turns out the robotic voice is Rory Young🤣. Apparently, as im very late to the pocket fm party, the original narrator is Rory Young but during what can only be described as a "remaster" the first 725 episodes were revoiced in some sort of AI. Thing is i definitely prefer the updated stuff. Thanks to all who replied, appreciated.

the stories are illogical, nonsensical and an insult to the intelligence of any self-respecting person.

I constantly get ad of this garbage on my Youtube. I am sick of it.

I’ve been listening to it for a month suddenly today they changed the all the episodes voice actor it’s so bad now :(

Also the visuals used to be like AI anime images now it’s different

Apparently I’m not the only person who experienced this I think they do this on purpose and they do it individually at a specific time

Anyway if you know who used to voice act for the version I liked please let me know and if it’s possible to still listen to the last version

Has anyone else had series just disappear and you can't find them anywhere? I can't exactly remember the title, but I remember the characters and chapters, all searches come up empty!

I've been listening to Pocket FM for a while, and I'm seriously considering building something in this space myself — basically an "Apple TV+ / Netflix" model for audio stories. The idea: a smaller catalog of genuinely premium, well-produced, complete stories, instead of the endless serialized format where everything stretches into 100+ episodes.

Before I go any further, I'd rather learn from people who actually know this space — you all — than just guess.

A few things I'd love to hear:

1. What do you enjoy most about Pocket FM? (genres, story style, voice acting, the cliffhanger-every-episode structure, pricing, how you discover new stories, etc.)
2. What frustrates you or feels missing as a listener?
3. If a competitor existed with fewer but much higher-quality, finished stories (not dragged out into "eternal" series) — would that actually appeal to you? Why or why not?
4. What would make you switch apps, or add a second one to your routine?
