In the process of trying to get a partial refund to LP pricing after a seller on TCGPlayer sent me this as “NM”
and stated that every card they sell follows TCGPlayer conditioning guidelines (which states NM cards will have “crisp corners” and a “nearly unmarked surface” but can have “slight edge wear”

Understand that NM cards can have minor imperfections but the top right corner is not minor, it’s a huge flake, not a dot. Looks to also extend to the back surface of the card and not just the edge.

Title explains the gist. Centering seems to be in tolerance, corners sharp, no scratches or dents. What do you guys think I’ll get. Hoping for 2-3 10’s and some 9’s.

Just measured - 2.2mm / 3mm on gengar top to bottom - 57.5/42.5 - technically out of standards but luck can make it a 10 technically - mew top and bottom is 2.3mm / 2.9mm - similar ratio, same situation. Just have to hope for a happy grader. Both sides are within 55/45 standards for both.

Consensus seems to be 10 for Morpeko & 1 Future Mewtwo - 9’s for others as of now.

I have recently rediscovered Pokémon and have now brought home my Pokémon binder from childhood. Im thinking about sending these cards for grading. What do you guys think? What grades could they get? Is it even worth it? Appreciate any advice.

Hello all! First time posting here I believe but I’d just like some community input on the condition of this card. Bought off Ebay a week or so ago and the seller listed it as MP - nice front dinged up back. I’m intending to sell it because like a complete idiot I noticed another Mewtwo for a few bucks more in my recommendation that I liked wayy better and by that time the OG seller already shipped this guy out.

The whitening/faint scratches is consistent with MP tiered cards right? But I do wonder about that faint crease on the back left side. Does that still fall into MP or does it tank it to HP or Damaged? Just wanna make sure I get the condition right before I decide how to go about this. Thank you!

Aside from everything else being 10 quality on the card, would this little whitening in the edge ruin a 10?

If so, any way to fix without altering?

Broke an old blister yesterday as I wanted the Pikachu promo inside but decided to rip the pack too. This is literally the first pack of this set I've ever opened and pulled this! At first I thought it was clean but after putting it under the flat bed scanner it looks like there are a few dark dots on the surface of the card, with the most prominent one top left under 'tag team'. Also feel as though the centring is off on the front? Find it hard to tell with the rainbow full arts

I know vintage is currently the hot topic right now.

I started collecting the newer sets for about a year now and have not sold anything I have pulled from booster packs (I have been pretty lucky with my pulls ☘️). Let alone, I have never sent a card in for grading.

With that being said, what is the communities verdict on having these vintage cards professionally cleaned before sending them in for grading? Will the grading company know it has been tampered with? I know these sleeved binders have a bad rep damaging the cards but it’s better than nothing. Some of the cards actually look clean but under a microscope scope it can quickly be a turn of events.

Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking in this subreddit for quite some time and have been a bit nervous to post at all, but here it goes.

I had this gold star Espeon ever since I was a kid. I used to play TCG and this fit my archetype so I foolishly played with it for about 2 years (stupid 9 year old me should have thought about the future!!)

Fast forward to now, I am thinking about getting this graded. I am scared for a few things, however.

1. I’m scared it’s going to grade quite low given how much it has been used. Is it even worth grading?

2. Do some delivery drivers really steal cards sent through the mail?

Can anyone give me their best guess as to what this could grade? I know the edges and corners are pretty scuffed.

whats up chat… just need an honest opinion whether or not I should just hold raw for the long run or roll the dice and send off to grade. took some pics and tried using the card centering app the best I could.
