Is this card real? Uncle gave it to me when I was a kid
È falsa questa sylveon ex sar?
Ho fatto uno scambio con un amico per carte di poco valore, lui non è esperto di carte Pokemon quindi dubito che magari abbia fatto qualcosa.
Anyone who uses doorzo
I'm thinking of buying a 23000 dollar slab from doorzo but I'm not sure if the buyer protection can protect me in the case that the slab is fake I'm gonna be using doorzo authenticate and pre storage photos .
You’re not buying packs, you’re buying leftovers
Heads up to the community, there are a lot of suspiciously cheap Japanese Pokémon packs going around lately. Attaching an image showing dead packs being sold openly by a Japanese supplier
Plenty of suppliers in Japan sell dead packs or mixed/repacked packs. Even when a listing says “mixed,” the ratio is usually bad because the packs have been searched and filtered first. Some sellers pull the chase cards before selling, so you’ll hit plenty of regular SARs but never the chase SARs that actually matter. To make it look more legit, some sellers even leave in a chase hit maybe 1 in every 1000 packs, just enough to keep people believing the packs are not filtered
Watch out for retaped packs too. Some sellers retape packs to fake that “konbini” effect Singaporeans love. If packs come taped in bundles (e.g. Mega Dream in 10s), they’re most likely filtered, since high class sets are usually sold in 5s
Recently saw a buyer buy out 450 Mega Dream packs from a stream. The only chase hits from all of that were 1 rainbow Pika and 1 Zard MA, plus about 10 other low value SARs. The streamer’s response was that they “share stock” with a partner who also streams, so the good hits must be on the partner’s side, and then encouraged people to buy from that partner instead
450 packs and that’s the return? Do the math yourself. What’s crazy is how many people are completely oblivious to this and will continue supporting such streams
Bottom line: cheap doesn’t mean good. The discount usually IS the filtering. Only buy from sources with good reviews and people you trust
I know the standard advice is “just don’t buy loose packs,” but this PSA is for those who are still gonna buy them anyway. Boxes aren’t exactly cheap either. Just go in with your eyes open, buy from people you trust, and don’t let the FOMO get you 🫡
WTF IS WRONG WITH SELLERS THESE DAYS.
their greed sickens me. this is a preorder too! means they got allocated stocks!
Pokemon Bubble
Recently i have friends that aren't pokemon or even tcg fans collecting pokemon cards mainly for the sake of "investment" or "quick profits". As a collector myself I'm just getting disgusted on what this hobby has become.
And also u guys know the saying that the top is in once people that don't know shit abt the hobby starts entering the scene.
Just wondering what is everyone's opinions on the state of this hobby and whether the bubble will pop
OverThinkTCG Thief
Nothing to do on weekend decided to kaypoh and dig lol.
Also steal from family is one of the most scumbag thing you can do so post what I found here to hope that the thief will be caught.
Went through OverThinkTCG channels from what I can see there are 2 main admins. One I saw at SG Card Show the other one saw at another card show a few months back I think.
Called Mandric (Guy with cap/always wear hoodie) and Chance (More tanned guy).
See Mandric on PTCG Facebook marketplace before so can tell there are 2 diff people.
There's always one girl there but don't know name.
Since OverThinkTCG geh siao act blur on insta with childish comments on IG post and never clearly address the issue hard to say for sure which one is the culprit.
But mostly seen Mandric at card shows recently, after this saga started never see Chance at the shows sooooo..... but not going to jump to conclusions for now.
From the reddit/FB posts, heresay the thief don't even want to admit and offer to at least payback the amount for the cards stolen lol still can go rent condo all. dont know what is more loser behavior.
Hope the victim (thief's sister) can maybe keep share more info so the community as a whole can support by not buying from the guy/call him out.
If we all don't do anything then these scumbag assholes will keep doing things like this thinking they can get away.
Good luck thief's sister, a bit shag to get all the actual cards back but hope you get the money back at least.
Too Many Card Shops Opening?
Anyone else notice more and more card shops popping up lately? Feels like there’s a new one opening every other week.
At this point, it feels like a bubble waiting to burst, especially since the market usually dips toward the end of the year.
I’ve also noticed some shops selling at almost the same prices as Facebook/Carousell sellers, sometimes even cheaper. With rent, overheads, staff, and taxes to cover, how are they actually making the numbers work?
PSA and be careful everyone
PSA to all! I contacted @andrewee88 at about 3pm today to purchase his listing and as you as see from the video he was constantly being avoidant and shady. My friend approached him at 4pm to ask if the listing is still available and he said yes which prompted me to ask for the refund.
I understand to an extent this is on me as he does not do self collection which is shady in itself but I am relieved it happened to me instead of an innocent kid. Can the admin please get him banned to prevent him from scamming others as well please!
To everyone else, if anyone only allow mailing or delivery, do a thorough check and if in doubt, let the deal pass!
I’m not sure what I can do, please advise!
Question: What's the MSRP for non PC ETB?
understand PC's ETB is 110sgd, what about those non PC ones? I know they are impossible to find, just want to know the retail value to benchmark.
Need some help! Is this poncho real?
Per the title, help guys! Just saw a deal for this but would love a second opinion
Chaos PC ETB reshrinked?
Wanted to come on here to ask as this is my first time buying PC ETB and wasn't too sure.
What time to show up to enter Pokemon Centre at 10am July 6?
I have limited time in Singapore and unfortunately can only visit tomorrow morning. Should I line up early to enter at 10? I only want a plush!
PSA please be careful when buying loose or 100% unfiltered pack from random shop or seller
Just wanted to share this in case it helps someone avoid the same mistake I made. I am a dad who's recently gotten into collecting pokemon cards with my son and we both look forward to opening together.
Sadly the mega dream packs I bought left me feeling disappointed. A few things just didn't sit right with me.The packs packaging looked a little off, it seemed to have been tampered with and there were no hits at all and I genuinely started wondering if the packs had been filtered or even resealed. I can't be entirely sure so I'm not trying to make accusations and i will take an L and take it as a lesson learnt. But based on what I received and my experience, I personally won't be buying from this shop again.
Just wanted to give the community a heads up to be careful, especially so if you are buying packs from individual shop or sellers who claims to be 100% unfiltered packs and sourced from pokemon center japan/family mart/7-11/lawson
It's an awful feeling when I am excited to open packs with my kid and this happen. If anyone has had a similar experience or has advice on spotting filtered or resealed packs please share i' would love to hear it. Hopefully this post helps someone else avoid the same disappointment.
Frustrating Experience with Deckard Build and Battle Policy
Hello all, I wanted to share a frustrating experience I had today at Deckard. I was elected to play at the store and read all the details that were provided to make sure I was well informed before going. Please see screenshots below:
What I took away from the posts was that check-in started at 2:30pm, and that the cut-off time for both elected and walk-in players was 2:45pm. Based on that understanding, I arrived at 2:35pm, believing I was still comfortably within the stated time window.
When I got there, I was informed that my elected slot had already been given up because the cut-off time for elected players was supposedly 2:30pm. This caught me completely off guard, as I couldn't find anywhere in the posts that specifically mentioned a separate 2:30pm cut-off for elected players.
I tried explaining my perspective — that the wording in the post seemed a little unclear, and that as someone completely new to the store and its process, I had genuinely believed I was following the rules as they were written. I asked whether there was any possibility of allowing me to play.
The response I received was, "I don't care if you're new here."
The receptionist then called the manager or owner, who made the final decision to remove my elected slot and place me into the walk-in queue instead. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut for the walk-in list and wasn't able to participate at all.
Miscommunication over timings aside, what disappointed me more was how the situation was handled.
As someone visiting the store for the first time, I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome rather than simply disappointed about missing a game. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself returning.
Edit - Missed out one screenshot
Hi I am new to pokemon and wonder which booster box or etb to buy and collect
reddit.com1-to-1 jank trades
I recently got back into this hobby and have duplicate janks from Japanese mega evolution sets. Are there any card shops that accept 1-to-1 trades for other janks? I think I saw here that zoomies used to do it but they are temporarily closed rn 🥲 Thanks!
