Live Performing on Polyend Tracker Mini and Korg NTS-1
This is a jam on my little micro-Setup. I'm currently working on a new live set and, at the same time, on a new EP. I once produced an entire album using the Tracker Mini, but this time the tracks will be different: they're no longer arranged in song mode, they consist of 1–2 simple patterns and are otherwise played live using the tracker's performance mode. On one hand, this gives them a certain spontaneity, and on the other, I can process everything simultaneously on stage at a later point.
However, for this challenge, I need to master the performance mode perfectly — which is why I'm currently jamming with it as often as possible. I completely underestimated its capabilities and keep discovering new ideas.
This jam also includes several samples I recorded during a little sound safari with the tracker and a contact microphone.
The track consists almost entirely of synths and samples coming live with the Tracker. As a special touch, there's a drone layer on top that I played spontaneously with the NTS-1 and a small controller from Intech. The Korg runs a Lyra-8 emulation called "Lirah-1" (since it only has 1 of the original 8 voices).
Enjoy :)
