I spent the last couple months making the rounds of urban farms around the area and wanted to share my thoughts for anyone curious about visiting. These spots are little green pockets in the city and more of them deserve attention. Here's my rundown:

Growing Roots — A small but inspiring operation on a plot they secured in partnership with Pomona Unified School District. It's only about an eighth of an acre, but they pack a lot into it and the whole thing is about showing the community that we can grow our own food together. Run by Julieta, she's really sweet and clearly cares about the community.

Sarvodaya Farms & Nursery — This one was my genuine favorite and the highlight of the my visits. Hands down the most beautiful of the bunch. It's a genuinely lush, thriving farm and nursery with gorgeous plantings and an incredible variety of exotic fruit trees, vegetable garden, and medicinal herbs. They run workshops, a Farmer Training Program, a kids' program , and give away all the food they grow through their Free Farmstand. You can feel how much care the team puts into the whole space and everything they grow. The community there is warm and welcoming . I left inspired and with a bunch of new plants.

Gente Community Garden — A neighborhood-focused community space that's all about gathering and integrating the surrounding community through growing. Smaller and grassroots, but welcoming, and you can feel the intention behind it. They are still in a development phase but the team was really sweet and welcoming.

Cal Poly Pomona — If you want to see the more high-tech, research-driven side of things, the Cal Poly programs are worth a look. They have an excellent nursery, and you can walk around the various gardens around the nursery / farm store. There is also an indoor shipping container farm, but you can only see that with special permission. They have events pretty regularly that are fun for the whole family.

Lopez Urban Farm — Large farm that that grows fruits and veggies that get shared with Pomona residents through a mutual aid system. It's open several days a week and they have events often.

Looking for an actual track circle like a school track anything open for the public

Going to a concert Sunday and taking the train up there, don’t think I’ll be back until past midnight, can I leave my car there? I parked there once and I remember it said my time expired at midnight

Does anyone know if there are any self service dog wash places in Pomona? I tried searching on Google Maps but couldn’t find any.

“This was a result of unintentional human error during the printing setup process with a vendor contracted to print this job by our contracted printing company, US Printing. City staff had no involvement in the insertion of these images,” Mark Gluba, Pomona assistant city manager, said in a Tuesday email.
The city first acknowledged the matter in a now-archived statement on its website on June 8, though posts are still live on Facebook and Instagram.
The city contracts printing services with US Printing, which has locations in Chino and Montclair, according to Gluba.
Gluba said the same owner owns both the Montclair and Chino US Printing locations, and that “the error was actually generated with a third-party printer, who they contracted the job out to,” he said by phone, Wednesday, June 24.
A Chino US Printing staff member said management was unavailable for comment, and an employee at the Montclair location said management declined to comment, as of Wednesday morning, June 24.
Only three to four copies out of 26,000 contained explicit images, according to Gluba. Earlier, Gluba said the images appear to be pages of adult content ads in place of planned city content.
“Our related staff’s last action on the matter prior to print was to approve the final proof, which had no identifiable issues, and absolutely no inappropriate images,” he said.
At a June 15 council meeting, City Manager Anita Scott said that after the investigation, the city is “confident that we are placing in quality controls with any future printers that we use, evaluating our contracts and ensuring that that error does not happen in the future.”
“All proofs that were approved were 100% correct,” Scott added.
“This was completely a printer error that they have taken accountability for, and responsibility for, and are enormously apologetic, although that doesn’t discount the error in itself,” she said.
After its investigation, the Pomona Police Department determined that no crime was committed.

We are looking for a reliable on-site front desk manager to oversee daily hotel/motel operations in Pomona, near Cal Poly Pomona. The ideal candidate must be able to live on-site, remain available for urgent guest or property needs, monitor hotel activity, support guests, manage check-ins and check-outs, and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

This role requires strong responsibility, professionalism, and the ability to handle late-night guest issues, safety concerns, and on-site operational tasks as needed. Candidate Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items as part of daily hotel operations.
