Who said Pomskies are high energy?

On my days off when I want to sleep in, mine will whine at my bedroom door until my husband lets him in to sleep with me. Then I will wake up to this. 😂

P.s.- Yes, he is groomed. He was re-homed to us and his grooming needs were not known when we got him. We thought he needed to be groomed like a Pomeranian, and the groomer did not educate us about a Pomsky’s grooming needs. We are learning.

Milo

You don’t have to understand the way I love my dog Milo. To some, he’s ‘just a dog,’ but to me, he’s my baby. The love I have for him is no different from the love a parent feels for their child. He has filled my life with joy, comfort, loyalty, and a love so pure that words will never be enough to describe it. He has stood beside me through every season of life, asking for nothing except my love in return. Every wag of his tail, every gentle look, and every moment by my side reminds me how lucky I am to have him. If you don’t understand that kind of love, that’s perfectly okay. Milo understands it every single day, and that’s all that matters. My heart belongs to him, today, tomorrow, and always.” ❤️🐾

Safe chews?

A couple of weeks ago I noticed my girls tooth is totally misaligned (her canine is diagonal pushing into her front teeth).

She’s never yelped nothing. Eats normal. Etc. There were no signs until I noticed in her mouth one day (and I feel bad but I hadn’t checked her teeth in a while).

The only thing I can think of that could have happened is her chewing her Nylabone or maybe a yak chew?

Anyways now I’m paranoid to give her chews. Please give me some teeth safe chews that she can gnaw on?

I do take her for walks etc to keep her entertained but she is left home while I’m at work so she does like to chew.

(And before anyone comments, yes we’ve taken her to the vet. Yes we’ve been advised it’s not an emergency but she will need her canine extracted in the next little while)

How many Pomskys do you have?

We just got our second Pomsky and I can see how it's easy to want to keep getting more of them. I say once you go Pomsky you never go back. I'm curious who has the most and I'm referring to household ones not breeders.

New cat introduction

Hello! I got a kitten a week ago and my 7 year old Pomsky has been at my mom’s will the new kitten settles in. She’s already met my older (and calmer) dog and they are co-existing well. I’d like to start the introduction to meeting my Pomsky today. I will start slow and let the kitty lead while my dog will be on a leash and I’ll reinforce calm behavior since he will be excited and want to play with the kitten.

He has met cats before and has been fine and is also fine with bunnies and small animals. I think in the end it will be okay but I am still nervous about the introduction.

Any tips or words of advice?

Is it normal for my puppy to not want to fetch or play games?

I have a four month old female Pomsky. I’ve had a few issues but nothing too extreme or unmanageable since I know she’s still a baby. But one thing I don’t get is why she doesn’t seem interested in playing with any dog toys or playing any games with us. If we throw a tennis ball, even the super tiny ones, the first couple times you throw it she’ll get really excited and run after it but then if you tell her to bring the ball back, she forgets all about it and just comes running back to you. Then after the third or fourth attempt of throwing the ball or rolling the ball, she will just sit in place and just watch it roll away, but shows no interest and then if I keep pushing her to go and get the ball, she will just lay down and do nothing. No matter how many times we try the fetch routine she just doesn’t seem to be about it. I have two sons, and when their father comes to visit, when he’s sitting on the couch, she will go and collect random objects and just place them at his feet. But she doesn’t do this to anybody else. When I take her outside and the other kids in the neighbourhood come over to play with my kids and the dog, I have occasionally seen them throw a stick and she will go and get it on the odd occasion and bring it back to them. But only once or twice at most. But again she shows no interest in doing that with me. She just wants the reward/the love/the praise , but doesn’t want to do the thing that attains it. The same goes with teaching her new tricks or trying to play any kind of game. When I try to teach a new things like giving me her paw, the very first time she did it immediately, but after that, she almost never has done it since. I have done all the positive reinforcement and the treats and the lovey-dovey, but as soon as she realizes that she’s getting rewarded, she just completely stops doing the behavior and just tries to go straight for the reward or the treat. And when I don’t give it to her again, she will just lay down in the spot and not move. Again, I know she’s only a baby. I’ve never had a puppy this young before, so I’m just wondering if this is normal? And if there’s anything I can do/I’m not doing to make it more fun for her.
I love her to bits, she’s so loyal and faithful and protective, but she just seems to want to be a lap dog. None of the basic puppy training seems to be working (potty training, leash training which I know can take up to a year so not too worried about any of that bc she is still so young) and I’m just not sure what to do to help it along.. I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old, she’s now 16 weeks.

I just want to add I’m not complaining or even venting in any way, I love my baby to bits. I just wish she would sometimes go and fetch a ball and bring it back to me lol 😩
