Hello Poco - please be aware
Hi neighbour's... I want you to know; I love our city, I love our parks.
Now that this is out of the way...
My wife and I were walking our dog (60 pound golden doodle on leash) in castle park this evening, we were nearish to the playground on the walkway. I looked to our left from the bottom of the park and I see a red light up collar FULL SPRINT toward us. The dog attacked our golden doodle until I chased it away. (I'm 6'1 and tons of fun...)
The dog ran back to its owner down at the lower elevation. (No words were EVER uttered from them not a "come here xxxx!" Not a "HEEL"! Nothing.
I yelled down to whomever it was to put their dog on a leash because it just attacked us.
Nothing.
I yelled down again - "your dog just attacked our dog!"
Nothing.
I asked my wife to do a once over on our dog whileninwent down to talk.
Long story short- I told him what happened. He said "was your dog on leash?" I said "yes, what does that matter??!" He replies "well this is an off leash dog park". I said if you can't control your dog then shouldn't be off leash.
This went back and forth... I asked his name; he wouldn't give it and demanded MY NAME. Afternintold him mine, he relented his was "Chase". I don't believe it. He wouldn't even give his dog's name.
Essentially this was a hit a run.
I am putting this in the group so you can be aware of:
An Asian man (probably 5' 8") that speaks good English with just a slight accent. His dog has clipped ears and has German Shepard coloring, but with shorter hair. (This happened at 10:30 PM.)
He obviously cannot control his dog, and therefore puts a big red light up collar on it and lets it out at night. (In my opinion, just given his lack of responsibility and remorse and the timing of the attack.)
Justice aware of this individual. That's all I am saying.
Also as a PSA: if you can't control your dog verbally, it doesn't make it ok if they attack another dog EVEN IF IT WAS IT THE OFF LEASH AREA. *and it wasn't... we were on the path OUTSIDE of the office leash area*
