Power stations

been reading a few posts about certain power stations people use. a lot of people are talking about whole home backups and such but i’m really just looking for a decent power station that’ll charge phones and electronics a good amount of times. i see the anker solid c1000 gen2 is $580 CAD rn instead of $1200. i have some of their smaller portable chargers and have no problems and honestly love the products so just curious if anyone had better recommendations or if the anker is good or not, thanks!

My experience comparing 3 portable power generators for home backup, what I would buy again

Three units, same scenarios, notes kept. The goal was understanding where each one actually breaks down before committing to one for long-term backup, not just reading the box.

Tests ran: full-size fridge to 10% battery remaining, DeWalt 20V 5Ah cordless tool recharges through a full day, overnight router and basic lighting.

EcoFlow Delta 2 at 1024Wh ran the fridge about 14 hours before hitting low battery and covered 12 to 14 tool battery recharges during the day. Router and lights overnight, no issues. AC recharge from dead to full takes around 80 minutes, which is genuinely useful if you get partial power back during a long outage. Sealed capacity is the only ceiling.

Goal Zero Yeti 1000X at 983Wh hit around 12 hours on the fridge and covered 10 to 12 tool recharges. Cold-ambient performance was better than the EcoFlow when I tested it in my unheated garage, which matters for anyone storing backup power in an unheated space. AC recharge from a standard outlet is slow, plan for most of a day.

Worksport COR at 960Wh per battery ran the fridge about 16 hours on the first battery, then I swapped in the second battery without cycling the fridge off and runtime continued. Total fridge time across both batteries was around 32 to 34 hours, total tool recharges came out to 16 to 18 combined. Additional batteries purchase separately and add to the same hub.

For a single-battery setup the EcoFlow is the strongest all-around performer, Worksport COR is the relevant comparison for multi-day scenarios.

Advice needed on Vtoman flashspeed 1500 that goes from 20-25% to fully discharged.

Cuban here in the middle of an energetic crisis. My Vtoman flashspeed started bugging like this (depletes completely when battery displays it's at 20-25% charge). In Cuba these powerstations are expensive, bought it a year ago, and want to make it last for as much as possible, so any advice it's greatly appreciated.

Possible issues:

-T > 30°C up to 39°C (I know this affects cell durability, like it halfs its life for every 5°C increase over 30). Any 3rd world advice to compensate when facing daily 18-24hs power outs, so hard to keep in a cool environment. I turn on an electric fan when charging it, but don't know how much it helps. Is it too much if I to put frozen bottles next to my power station just to lower the surrounding temp? JK... Or am I? I'm despaired for solutions...

-The inner fan turns off at around 80% charge when charging (never happened before, is it normal?).

-Dad keeps charging it up to 100% (even though I tell him to keep it up to 90%). Understandable when charging the backup battery (only charges after power station reaches 100%), but risky as a daily choice when extra battery is charged.

-We have a 400W solar panel we use when necessary (is it better to charge the power station at regular temp >30°C at 400W for 4hs, or charge it at 1500W for 1-2hs with an electric fan at ~30C or AC at 24°C?)

-Voltage (we can't really regulate voltage, should I get a multimeter to be safe although it won't help due to voltage alterations when he power just randomly goes off?).

-It's a 12 caliber cable wired outlet (20A, 120V, 2400W) good enough to charge my 1500W power station without issues? Would it be too risky to push it a little closer with a 14 caliber cable wired outlet (15A, 120V, 1800W)? I think I need a 20% extra to make sure there are not issues, so 1800 should cut it or does practice differ from theory? We have AC on the bedrooms (can charge with regulated temp) but just want to be sure it won't overload/burn the wiring on my apartment...

Sorry if my questions seem dumb, I'm new to this and just do basic DIY electricity work (which means I try my luck, and each time it works I do a little victory dance and praise the electricity gods...).

Also, if you don't know or don't have time to answer, do you recommend any good lecture to deeply understand this? Thank you.

Why are most portable power stations ridiculously overpriced

As a student doing a CS degree, (I know, I know AI will take my job but I am in it I may as well finish it) I always find it infuriating when I want to work in a place other than my room, I have to find one where there is a power outlet.

I know when most people think of programmers they think of people who rarely leave the house, but I am build a little different in that I do like the occasional work in the park, just to soak up a bit of vitamin D. Now issue is there are no power outlets in parks so you can work there for a little while before maybe finding a restaurant or going back to the house.

In order to solve this minor inconvenience I was looking over some portable power stations and let me tell you, the situation in those sites, as in amazon alibaba and the rest has me thinking that working in the house all the time is not that bad after all. First of all the price swings are ridiculous and I think I can get a car in Facebook marketplace with those prices.

For people who own one, will it really serve my purpose and what kind of rating should I look for?

New to BLUETTI and Power stations! Need some input!

Hello all! I am 32 years old on the spectrum and had bought both a Jackery and a BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 (with an additional one on the way!). I am buying these all for power outage emergencies and I am wondering how long it can do for a WiFi router? Like an 8w? How long has that lasted for anyone?

I have a lot of anxiety about power outages and severe storms that cause them a lot so having these things I think will really benefit me? I’d love to hear some stories and experiences with yours!

Also I would love some tips on how to prolong the battery life for the unit as a whole please! 💖💖💖

Thank you!

Looking for recommendations

I'm planning on purchasing a portable generator to power a small amplifier (music). Do any of you have recommendations for one on the budget friendly side (200$ or less)?

Thanks

Rockpals 500w portable power station - display initially turns on but then turns off with a progressively higher pitched noise every time I press a button

As a disclosure, I received this power station in the condition it’s in from a friend who wasn’t able to figure it out either.
As the title says I’ve got here a Rockpals portable power station that seems to take a charge as far as I’ve tested but doesn’t seem to like outputting power to any of the ports or powering the display past an initial power on, after that the display turns off and it makes this high pitched sound any time I press any of the buttons which gets higher and higher pitched until eventually it’s a continuous high pitched ringing. Now Rockpals does not exist as a company anymore otherwise I’d be contacting them, if anyone has any experience or insight on this type of issue on Rockpals products that would be very valuable to me, thank you

EDIT: I’ve got a video of the issue I’m talking about

Tired of using your phone to check your station? I made a native macOS app for Ecoflow/Bluetti

Hey fellow power station owners,

I often work on my Mac while charging or using my power station. I hated having to pick up my phone or keep the mobile app open just to check the current wattage or battery percentage.

I built a native macOS app called **Power** to solve this. It connects directly via Bluetooth and shows you real-time data right on your desktop.

**What it does:**
* Shows real-time input/output wattage, battery levels, and temperatures.
* Auto-discovers devices (no complex pairing required).
* Supports Ecoflow (River 2, Delta 2) and Bluetti (EB3A).

It's a side project I built for myself, but I've polished it enough to share. It's currently in free beta.
