No teasers, no dates confirmed (by GV), no ticket sales, and big obvious, no lineup. We are nearly 4 months out from the city permit dates. Realistically, these companies want to get marketing and sales started as soon as possible to maximize profits. I don’t believe they are pulling a niche marketing scheme, especially not in this economy, it’s too risky.

They definitely have issues going on behind the scenes and are likely scrambling with Headliners and probably undercard as well. I believe they had a great headliner locked in, something happened, and now the person is no longer available. They are scrambling to get someone that will push ticket sales but it’s very very very close to crunch time. I’ve worked in the industry for 10 years, these radius clauses can sometimes expand into neighboring states, making booking talent extremely hard the more time passes.

And for those who will say BUT THE PERMITS! I have seen many permits filed for businesses, events, vendors and nothing comes of it. It just happens. Permits are the first order of business and depending on municipalities, can be a timely process. It’s no guarantee, just a box checked.

Anyway, this is all my speculation. I will love if it happens but it’s seemingly becoming less likely each day.

Ok hear me out. The delays in both events' announcements are due to the two events coming together as one mega-anti-insomniac venture. CRSSTola will take place in San Luis Obispo, will have a warehouse with ocean views, and will sell some awesome SFxSD hoodies. /s

As we're anxiously waiting on the lineup drop, CRSSD hasn't even confirmed their dates yet! I'm wondering why all the delays both(?)

As of today 5/20/26, not only will this be the latest announcement Portola has made but also, we're past any "on sale" date also. This is really late. I wonder how many of the set artist they're still trying to or what is causing this because the venue and dates are secure. May as well tier release who's performing but lots of people are gonna have a hard time getting here for it (thank God I live in SF)

While I agree that most of Anjuna may not fit the Portola vibe, seeing Mat Zo on the lineup for ABGT700 made me realize he'd be a great, subtle Trance addition to Portola like Hamdi was for Bass last year. Listening to his live sets, you'd never guess he had a dedicated label. His transitions across genres are effortless. Feel like he'd make for a great Pier stage experience.

Im fully drinking the haterade now and the needle has flipped to "probably not going" because there just arent enough good artists left free and beyond a Daft Punk reunion you just cant put a strong lineup together.

Kettama just announced a tour and his first stop is LA on October 1st. What do we think?
