r/Postboxes

So, two E II R boxes, side by side in the Barbican. Wondering why they didn't use one bog box?

The Stamped Mail label on the left one is after the fact but maybe the other was Franked Mail?

Does anyone know what the slot and box behind it is for?

The slot is normally covered by the sign on the front, so not accessible normally..

GR resto in progress

First picture is just after a light wire brush (didn’t want to remove too much old paint), plus primed.
Quite a bit to fix inside as hinges are pretty much all gone.

Box was inside the Woburn estate. Hope you don't mind the picture of the deer.

Pokemon Go, but Postboxes - The PostBox Game - Beta Testing this weekend

Postbox Karma is cool and everything. But battling it out with a dedicated community for Postbox Point supremacy is the true calling.

VR - 7 points, ER - 2points. CR - nice 9 points. OMG Edward VIII - smashing it. Might just plan the family holiday to the Isle of Mull just to get one in Tobermory.

A few passionate Postbox fans have created a mobile app that does just that. Basically Pokemon Go, sweet sweet Postbox Points. Beta testing this weekend. All free. No ads. We just like postboxes. Were looking to for more players to join the battle. Beta testing event this weekend.

Unique Gold Postbox in the Liver Building, Liverpool

A surprise find! Apparently it was originally for the building’s international mail then repurposed by the Royal Mail - but not sure. A beauty.

I discovered this one this afternoon

It's tucked away, almost hidden, on Bangor, Gwynedd, High Street and looking a little the worse for wear but still beautiful in its way.
