to up lae 2026 batch passers,

HELP. i'm planning to apply for lae 2027 but i have to know gaano karaming items yung math portion ng exams kasi admittedly, it's my weakest link but i'm slowly preparing for it na :') specifically,

- how many items
- what were the common topics
- any tips on solving without using the calculator or scratch?
- i read somewhere here na may notepad? ganun pa rin ba last 2026?

pls pls i hope someone responds to ease my worries even a bit hahahah. other exam tips are also appreciated kahit hindi na math related!

also, does anyone want to be study buddies (but more on accountability buddies) in preparation for next year? para mapressure na ako mag review talaga!!! dms are open :D

salamat poh!!!! <3

How frequent do you buy new highlighters po?

Hi! I’m 1L and I feel like inaabuse ko paggamit ko ng highlighter kasi parang nakaka isang linggo palang yung highlighter set na binili ko (4 colors) eh nagffade na agad sila meaning malapit na maubos. Is this normal? [Stabilo Swing Cool user here] or sadyang mabilis lang maubos yung certain brand na gamit ko?

Best Laptop Choice for UP LAE

Hello, I'm an aspiring UP Law student. I'm currently preparing for the exam, given that it's a computer based exam, I need a laptop that's for speedtyping, long battery power, and is just not laggy and fast overall.

I'm not rich rich to afford a macbook as everyone mostly recommends here. Do to you think its okay to buy second hand lenovo yoga or asus zenbook? I'm really worried about it being risky

UST FCL or UP COL?

Hi everybody! These are the top 2 schools I am considering for next academic year and I want to hear your thoughts. For context I took a 2 year gap so save up for LS so finances aside I need your opinion. I also studied in UST for 10 years from JHS, SHS, and College. In law school, aside from studying, I really want to try out of classroom experiences like in LPU Makati they have a legal assistant program wherein students can provide free legal assistance to low income people and marginalized with the support of attys. That’s just a prime example of the things I want to experience because I feel like I will learn more work ethic wise. I want to try out internships during term breaks as well or work for a professor as a research assistant. Here’s my dilemma:

UST FCL

  1. More comfortable since I know UST already and it will lessen the burden of adjustment. I will only adjust sa law school proper but environment wise, I am comfortable.
  2. UST FCL is more traditional like SCHOOL SCHOOl talaga. Not working student friendly nga because they want everyone to be regular students.
  3. Greatest pro are the benefits since under Dean Divina I see a lot of perks like if DL ka or support pag internship or work proper.

UP COL

  1. The pro here is this is something different. Mas liberating since you can choose the schedule and classes. Own pace compared to FCL.
  2. Different environment for me so I might grow better here.
  3. Indifferent pa ako sa no gadgets during first year but I don’t mind.

I’d love to know your thoughts. Thank you! (I’m also eyeing Arellano, San Beda, and LPU Makati as well)

Edit: I appreciate the comments everyone! I do understand that I have to pass the exams first, of course that’s a given. I’m not saying I’m the smartest in the room nor I’m very confident about this. The reason why I’m asking is I’d like to do research and prepare for LS in general so I want to know what I should be looking into. Rest assured I’m not automatically assuming I’ll get in. 😅

UST FCL ADMISSION QUERIES

Hi everyone! I am currently a 4th year LM student and really interested to go to UST - FCL.

I just have a few queries:

  1. In preparation for the exams, what is the coverage? (could someone explain the difficulty, I never experienced an entrance exam for college bcs of the pandemic, grades lang sinubmit namin)

  2. Is the essay portion pre-prepared or is it part of the exam?

  3. How is the interview process? does having an interview automatically mean you will be admitted?

  4. Do they consider students only with latin honors in their undergrad? Do they take preference if you are a former Thomasian? (im not)

Any advice will be deeply appreciated. I just want to evaluate and assess the degree of preparation I need. Thank you!

Is law school worth it?

Hi! I am currently a working healthcare girly who is considering law school. For context, my father graduated from LS but did not pass the bar on his first take and didn’t take na talaga again. He introduced me to the idea of law school but di naman talaga totally pinilit. He said that its a more practical choice. Now, the problem is I’m contemplating whether or not being a lawyer in the philippines is a good profession? Tbh, I find law interesting but somehow there’s something holding me back (maybe the idea of proceeding w medschool) pero I dont think its financially freeing to be a first gen doctor in th ph and Imm seriously considering law school. But the things is I have a little knowledge about the ins and outs given na graduate ako ng allied health course. Any advice please? Before I fully decide on law school. I want to work parin kasi (as a first born na nahihiya na humingi sa parents). Any insights please? Influence or deinfluence me law school edition? 🥹

CPA dayshift + Law school in 4 years. Possible?

Hi! I'm currently weighing my options since i'll be entering LS next year.

Background: I graduated last year and passed the CPALE. I currently have a day shift 8-5PM work and would like to finish LS in 4 years. I'll be financially supported w tuition fees by my parents but i'll be shouldering all other living expenses + helping my siblings graduate college so I can't give up my job (but last option is find a new job & apply for graveyard shift if ever)

Questions:

  1. My options are UST, UP, Beda, USC. What time do their classes usually start? Is it doable to continue my day shift job and not enter the working block (5 yrs)? or is there like a summer term where i can enroll if im working and would like to finish in 4 yrs?

  2. Among those schools listed, which one would it be most doable to do this set-up?

  3. Do you know someone who finished LS in 4yrs while working? How did it go for them?

Appreciate any response. Please. Thanks!

When do classes start for 1L? (ALS, TDSOL, UP LAW)

Hi i’m an undergrad trying to figure out my graduation timing and starting law school. If my last term on school ends on an august, will I be able to start law school classes on a september? I heard for schools like ALS and TDSOL classes start around july, some say september.

I wanna get over my anxiety on whether i’ll be able to start right after graduating or if i’ll have to wait another year.

I just want to start as early as possible because i don’t wanna feel behind since i’ll be graduating at the ripe ol age of 24 lol
