PLEASE READ IF YOU LIVE IN THE DALLAS/DFW AREA

I’ve gone to multiple protests and rallies in the Dallas area since the reelection of Donald Trump, but something I noticed that I find quite concerning is that every one of these protests is spoken to and approved by the city, which is not doing anything for example having a protest on a Saturday, which is not disrupting any businesses or anybody else does not do anything the point of a protest is to be there for days, annoying people, and getting your point across and that’s what I wanna do I’m not sure how to start it but I’m hoping that this will at least get my foot in the door. I want to do a work week protest consisting of thousands of people standing in the middle of the city disrupting work disrupting traffic disrupting everything the same way this administration disrupted our lives are medication our food and our gas. We shouldn’t be nice by talking to the city and collaborating with pigs. These people have beaten, raped and murdered children and allowed those things to happen to children and people we should not be patient. We should not wait for them to listen because they will not. It doesn’t matter if we don’t have all the luxuries we used to it’s better than being crushed by administration that wants nothing good for us. It doesn’t matter if you’re black white brown gay or straight they hate you too They don’t care about you no matter who you are or what work you do or what you say to “ support “ them

Call to Action: Centennial Protester Support! 8/17 & 8/24

We are proud to stand with the Centennial Protesters who were wrongfully arrested for standing up against the illegal ICE terror being perpetrated our communities, along with the despicable conditions at the Aurora GEO Detention Facility. Protesting is not a crime and we must all be willing to fight against this injustice!

On Monday, August 18th AND Monday, August 24th, we will be calling on our community to contact District Attorney, Amy Padden, ALL-DAY to demand that the protesters’ state charges are dropped! Join the organizing community for the next two weeks as we demand justice for Terry Burnsed, Arnie Carter, Yoselin Corrales, and El!

In Lochiel, Arizona, a single ancient cottonwood tree stands in the way of the construction of Donald Trump's border wall. For two weeks, demonstrators have occupied the tree and defended it against construction crews and border patrol. They invite you to act in solidarity.

National actions this week against ICE expansion, Big Tech tyranny

Both houses of Congress are now on recess through the end of the month. This long August break is intended to give them a chance to campaign for reelection, so in theory they should be a little more accessible to us in the next few weeks. We’re going to take this moment to show up on their doorsteps.

The immigrant community in Maine and their allies have been protesting daily since ICE agent David Brouillette murdered Johan Sebastián Guerrero in Biddeford on July 13th. Tomorrow, they’ll be holding an action at Susan Collins’ Biddeford office, calling out her making it all possible by voting for $70 billion in ICE funding. They’re asking us to do the same, hitting the streets in every district where members of Congress voted to expand ICE - demanding full and independent investigations into ICE killings, protection of the witnesses, an end to local collaboration with ICE, congressional use of their oversight authority, reallocating deportation funds to SNAP and Medicaid and a path to citizenship. 🪧 Let’s find a Care Not Cruelty action to attend near us here. 🪧

JUSTICE FOR THEM ALL

Meanwhile, our leaders still aren’t hearing us as we push back against the explosion of hyperscale data centers and the unrestrained creep of AI and surveillance tech. Trump is trying to end-run local opposition by letting them build on federal land now. Clearly we’re going to need to get louder. A coalition including Food & Water Watch, the Athena Coalition, Make the Road and the People’s Action Institute is using this recess to deliver letters and hold events at congressional offices and other key locations, encouraging our electeds to support Bernie Sanders and AOC’s federal data center moratorium bill and reject proposed projects locally – a Dump Big Tech Week of Action. 🪧 We can join them at these rallies near us here. 🪧
