Got layed of due to AI looking for referral

I was a Java Backend Developer, not able to get even a single call, every position for java is having 3k applicants already,

I have the skills, I used to work in a good company with experience of 2 years but not able to get any job in java

Why is it so hard to get a job in this domain

I wished I had worked in some other Domain, atleast I would be giving interviews instead of siting at home applying for jobs

FK THIS JOB MARKET. I'LL GIVE MY FIRST MONTH SALARY TO ANYONE WHO HELPS ME LAND A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING JOB.

Hey everyone.

I'm a 2026 B.E. Information Technology graduate and I've been searching for a Software Engineering role for months now.

I honestly thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd eventually get my chance. So I did exactly that.

I became a LeetCode Guardian (2350+ Rating)Codeforces ExpertCodeChef 6★, and solved 1300+ DSA problems. I spent countless nights grinding algorithms, participating in contests, and improving my problem-solving skills because everyone said, "DSA is the key."

Along the way, I also learned JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, SQL, Git, REST APIs, and C++, and built full-stack MERN projects hoping they'd strengthen my profile.

But despite all of that, getting interviews has been the hardest part.

I've applied through company career pages, LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, cold emails—you name it. Most applications never receive a response. The few that do usually end with a rejection or complete silence.

I'm not asking anyone to hand me a job. I just want one fair opportunity to prove myself in an interview.

So here's my commitment.

If your referral gets me selected for a Software Engineering role, I'll give you my first two months' salary after I join.

Yes, I'm serious.

I'm not making this offer because I think referrals should be bought. I'm making it because I genuinely believe I can clear interviews if someone gives me the opportunity to sit for one.

If your company is hiring freshers or if you're willing to refer me, please send me a DM. I'll immediately share my resume, GitHub, LinkedIn, LeetCode, Codeforces, and CodeChef profiles.

Even if you can't refer me, an upvote or share might help this post reach someone who can.

Thank you. ❤️

People with 4–5+ YOE in IT/Tech, do you feel you should have chosen something else?

Seeing the current job market, layoffs, overwork, AI uncertainty, hiring freezes, recruiter ghosting, and increasingly difficult interviews — do those of you with 4–5+ YOE ever feel like you should've chosen a different career?

I'm currently at around 2 YOE. I'm reasonably good at DSA and work primarily with Java/backend development. I was planning to switch companies, couldn't land a single interview despite 20+ referrals and 100+ applications.

Looking at the current market and all the uncertainty, I'm genuinely starting to question whether I want to spend the next 20–30 years of my life doing this.

I'm even considering pivoting toward government job preparation, mainly because stability and predictability are becoming more attractive to me.

For those who've been in tech for 4–5+ years: knowing what you know now, would you still choose IT/tech?

Just Giving Some Free advice as a AI Engineer

I see their many posts regarding carrier switch, placement, projects and many other things like are java developers getting hired etc .

The AI boom is not going to burst , although it will down eventually with time because every developer will start learning AI .

So if you still thinking to start then start as soon as possible .

Tech stacks you must know :-
• Python Typescript
• Basics of LLMs , RAG and integrating llm apis .
• Basics of AI agents

Whats roles emerging now ?
• AI Engineer ( any good developer + bit AI )
• MLops (devops + few more libraries like mlflow etc)
•FDE ( Product eng + developer end to end )
• GTM ( Marketing + sales + data + bit development)

Al these roles need good knowledge of using agentic IDEs like claude , codex , cursor .

Feel free to DM me if you need detailed roadmap for any of these fields (dont worry i will not charge anything 😎 , i m just trying to create awareness about AI and help ppl learn things fast )

Hope this helps :)

Pune developers — anyone up for a non-tech Saturday? 😭🎨

Hey everyone!

I’m working on a small project called KINO, and I’m hosting my first little experience in Pune on August 22.

It’s called TOTE & TOAST: ON THE COAST, happening at Coast & Co., Aundh.

It’s basically a small, relaxed afternoon where you can:

  • paint your own heavyweight canvas tote
  • have a complimentary cocktail, mocktail or glass of wine
  • listen to some chill music
  • meet a few new people
  • take home the tote + a curated goodie bag

No painting skills required whatsoever. There’s no instructor, competition or “here’s how you paint a flower” situation 😂. You just get the materials, pick up a brush and make whatever you want.

I’m keeping it to around 15 people, so it’s meant to be more of a small social afternoon than a big workshop.

Since I spend way too much time around tech myself, I thought it would be nice to do something completely unrelated to screens for once.

3.7 year FE experience, Unemployed from 10 Months. Things does not seems to be in my favor really need help if anyone can.

I’m really in need of a job right now, and my financial situation is getting worse day by day. I’ve applied to many positions, but I’m receiving very few interview calls, and unfortunately, none of them have converted into an offer.

I’m honestly struggling to understand where I’m going wrong. I would really appreciate it if someone could review resume suggest what I can improve or do differently to increase my chances of getting more interview calls.

Any advice, guidance, or referrals would mean a lot to me. Thank you.

I made a free interactive guide to Pune — forts, temples, gardens, museums, hills

I spent the last few weeks building ExplorePune — a curated city guide where every place gets its own hand-built, interactive 3D scene.

No GLBs. No downloaded 3D models.

Everything is procedurally generated with Three.js at runtime, including interactive hotspots mapped to the editorial feature list.

🏙️ 15 Places · 5 Categories

Forts & Palaces

  • Shaniwar Wada
  • Lal Mahal
  • Sinhagad Fort
  • Aga Khan Palace

Temples & Spiritual

  • Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati
  • Pataleshwar Cave
  • Parvati Hill
  • Osho Meditation Resort

Nature & Gardens

  • Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden
  • Saras Baug
  • Empress Garden

Museums & Culture

  • Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
  • National War Memorial, Southern Command

Lakes & Hills

  • Vetal Tekdi
  • Khadakwasla Dam

🛠️ Tech Stack

  • Next.js 16 — App Router
  • React 19
  • Three.js
  • Tailwind CSS 4
  • Base UI
  • Google Maps with @vis.gl/react-google-maps
  • Vitest for layout and anchor-helper testing

⚙️ Some Engineering Decisions

  • WebGL stays completely out of the server render using next/dynamic with ssr: false.
  • Camera anchors, palettes, and feature ordering are implemented as pure, testable helpers.
  • Every location includes practical information: timings, entry fees, best seasons, audience tags, estimated duration, and ratings.
  • Full directory with filtering by category, season, audience, and fee.
  • Multiple views: Grid · List · Map
  • Community layer with local reviews and a suggest-a-place workflow.
  • Admin dashboard for approving and moderating submissions.

The goal was to make a city guide that feels less like a static directory and more like an interactive digital exploration of Pune.

2 months into job (2.4 LPA CTC), company asking ₹2.5L bond on stamp paper after major role misrepresentation — Can I just quit?

Hi everyone,

I need legal and career advice regarding an exit from my current company in Pune.

Background:

Hiring: I was placed through C-DAC campus recruitment for a C# Developer role at an annual CTC of 2.4 LPA.

Bond: Signed a ₹2.5 Lakh bond on stamp paper (which is higher than my entire annual package).

Current Situation (2 Months in): The actual work has zero overlap with C# or software development. We are doing vehicle/remote diagnostic testing (using hardware tools like Denso) and manual documentation.

Training Provided: ZERO formal, specialized, or third-party paid training. Only internal walkthroughs of their existing system and tools they already owned.

Workplace Environment: The culture is toxic, and the role mismatch is completely stagnating my career trajectory.

My Questions:

Since my annual CTC is 2.4 LPA and they provided no external/paid training, is a ₹2.5L bond legally enforceable in an Indian court?

Does signing on stamp paper give them any actual legal leverage to recover an amount greater than my annual salary for 60 days of onboarding?

I am completely fine removing these 2 months from my resume and starting fresh. What is the safest way to exit without getting tied up in legal notices?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone! I’m a fresher looking for opportunities in Pune in roles such as:

Data Analyst

Power BI Developer

MIS Executive

Could anyone suggest genuine and trusted placement/recruitment agencies in Pune that actually work with freshers?

I’m specifically looking for agencies with no fake job offers or upfront scam fees. Personal experiences/recommendations would be really helpful.

Backend engineers meet?

Hi guys! 👋

Shall we plan a Backend Engineers’ meetup next month?

Given the current market and the challenges many of us are facing, I feel it would be great to get to know each other, build our network, and support one another , whether through referrals, sharing opportunities, or simply exchanging experiences.

I’m thinking of keeping this meetup focused on mid-to-senior backend engineers (around 5-10 years of experience). We could discuss:

New technologies and trends in backend engineering

Interesting problems we’re solving

Career growth and how we can level up together

Experiences, opportunities, and referrals

This is just an idea I’m throwing out there 😊. Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can make this useful and fun for everyone!

HELP ME DECIDE!

So I'm a fourth year student graduating in June 2027. This semester is my internship sem so no academics and the internship I got is online plus very flexible so I barely need to work for an hour every day ( unpaid internship), so I've decided to join a training institute to learn some real coding skills, I tried skilling up at home using online resources but I really cannot function well at home with all the distractions and also like no accountability.

Can someone suggest good offline training institutes in Pune. Also like what field should I opt for ( I was thinking of java spring boot full stack ), someone suggested data science but I'm not sure about it, being a fresher from tier 3 college.

Tldr: CS/IT student (tier 3 college), graduating June 2027, currently in a flexible unpaid internship sem. Want to join an offline training institute in Pune to actually learn coding with accountability (self-study at home isn't working). Leaning toward Java + Spring Boot full stack, but open to suggestions. Need: institute recommendations + advice on which field is more realistic for a tier-3 fresher full stack vs data science?

I never thought I'd have to write a post like this.

I completed my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, and since then I've been trying my best to start my career in the software industry. Every day goes into applying for jobs, reaching out to recruiters, asking for referrals, and preparing for interviews. Some days bring hope, most days bring silence.

I have hands-on experience in:

Programming: Python, JavaScript

Web Development: HTML, CSS, React.js, REST APIs

Backend & Database: Node.js, MySQL

Tools & Technologies: Git, GitHub, AWS

Other: Web Development, API Integration, Debugging, Problem Solving

I am looking for opportunities as:

• Software Engineer / Software Developer

• Python Developer

• React.js / Frontend Developer

• Web Developer

• Backend Developer

• Graduate / Trainee Software Engineer

Preferred Location: Pune / Bangalore / Hyderabad / Remote

Availability: Immediate Joiner

If your company is hiring freshers, if you know a recruiter, or if you can provide a referral, I would truly appreciate your help.

Even a small lead, referral, or share could make a big difference right now.

Thank you for reading.

Anyone up for a Vibe Coding session around Sinhgad Road? ☕💻

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to find a few people around Sinhgad Road, Pune who are into coding, AI, startups, side projects, or just enjoy sitting in a café and building things.

Thinking of doing a casual “vibe coding” session at a café — bring your laptop, work on your own project, exchange ideas, maybe help each other debug something, and grab some coffee. 😄

No formal meetup or agenda — just a chill coding session with like-minded people.

📍 Location: Somewhere around Sinhgad Road

☕ Place: Café with decent Wi-Fi + charging points

💻 What: Vibe coding / side projects / AI / web dev / whatever you're building

👥 Who: Anyone interested in building stuff

If you're around Sinhgad Road and interested, comment below or DM me. If we get a few people interested, we can decide on a café and time.

Would be great to make this a regular thing if it works out! 🚀

Created Entire 3D Website for Pune || 🏰 Exploring Shaniwar Wada in an Interactive 3D Experience || Coming soon website

I came across this really interesting interactive experience for Shaniwar Wada, Pune.

Instead of simply looking at photos or reading historical information, the experience lets you explore the fort in a more visual and interactive way — including locations such as:

🏰 Delhi Darwaza 🧱 Ramparts & Bastions 💧 Hazari Karanje 🏛️ Palace Foundations 🥁 Nagarkhana 🌙 Lawns & Light & Sound Show

What I particularly like is the combination of historical storytelling + 3D visualization + interactive exploration.

This kind of approach could make historical sites much more accessible to people who can't visit them physically.

What do you think — could interactive 3D/AI experiences become a better way to explore India's historical places?

Hi everyone, I am looking for some realistic advice on how to address a career gap on my resume and during interviews.

My background: I worked for 2 years as a professional at a top-tier product multinational company (MNC). I worked as developer and automated testing.I left that role to look for a better position, higher growth, and a better salary package.
However, the job market has been incredibly tough, and my search has stretched out much longer than anticipated. I am now at the 1-year mark of unemployment. Despite my strong foundational experience at a well-known company, I am finding it difficult to land interviews or get past the initial screening phase.
For those who have successfully navigated this:
How do you explain a 1-year gap to recruiters without sounding like you were rejected by everyone else?
Should I explicitly state on my resume or cover letter that I was upskilling or selectively job-hunting?
Does having a top MNC on my resume lose its value the longer the gap grows?
I would love to hear from recruiters, hiring managers, or anyone who managed to land a great role after a long gap.
Thank you in advance for your insights!
