Good chance to buy and still get the august distribution? It usually goes up the few days before the Ex-Div, right?
Long story short, I have my retirement set up pretty good. I have my 401K, 3 rental properties, and several IRAs. I retired just a couple of years ago and I pretty much live off the rental income. I have zero debt.
I wouldn't mind some extra cash a month and one of my IRA's is just sitting there conservatively invested and it'll be there in a few years when I plan to do 'something' where I'll take my wealth and create some type of guaranteed income - probably some type of layered annunities.
Anyway, I keep hearing and reading up on QQQI and I'm thinking of taking just one of my IRAs that has almost exactly $100K and putting investing in QQQI. I know nothing is guaranteed and in the worst case scenario... you could lose it all. But right now that $100K is pretty much sitting there doing nothing. So I'm thinking about keeping it in my IRA but moving it to QQQI.
What do you think?
I would like to make at least 5% income. I have 150K to start. I'll add a sprinkle of high div single stocks. So drom what i understand you need growth and income mixed to make a good portfolio. What do you guys think of this plan tax wise and sanity wise. Different percentages or stocks? 35% qqqi, 10% schd, 15% spyi, 15% qqqm, 15% spmo, 5% avuv, 5% xqqi.
All in on NEOS. Dividends will be split between bills and SCHD.
TL;DR: I’m 35, based in LatAm (low cost of living), with a ~$430k net worth and a $5k/month net salary. I’m completely burned out from the corporate rat race and considering putting my entire portfolio into QQQI to generate ~$4.3k/month in passive income and quit working. Looking for honest feedback on this plan.
Here we go again: I posted a similar thread a few months ago, but I’m posting an updated version because I’d love to get fresh perspectives from this community.
I am utterly exhausted from working. I know people will say I’m only 35 and too young to retire, but I just can't bring myself to accept the 9-to-5 grind anymore. Every day I feel more convinced that life isn't meant to be spent sitting in front of a monitor for 8–9 hours a day.
I actually have a good office job on paper, but I have zero motivation left. Over the last 5 years, I’ve switched jobs twice, and I’ve realized the problem isn't the company—it's working for someone else and being stuck in the rat race. On top of that, I’m quite introverted and lack the risk tolerance/desire to start and run my own business.
For the past few months, I’ve been crunching the numbers: what if I put my entire ~$430k net worth into QQQI?
At current rates, that could net me roughly $4.3k USD/month. While that’s slightly lower than my current earned income, working just a few more months would close that gap. Even if I end up taking a small income cut, I am fully willing to trade that money for 100% control over my time, provided my purchasing power doesn't completely collapse.
Here is how I weigh the Pros & Cons:

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this strategy.
A quick note: Please skip comments like "you're too young to quit." I know I’m young, and I know this isn't the standard path for a 35-year-old. But if you have the financial means to step off the treadmill, isn't it worth taking?
