Unmanaged POE++ switch for endpoints and cameras

Main switches are Netgear AV line but I'll need secondary switches in a few locations where I need to connect both NV-21-HU endpoints and NC-12x80 cameras. What do you guys use in such situations? Can I get away with an unmanaged POE++ switch like this:

Divisible space with third party cameras

Anyone have a sample file they are willing to share?
We are using Panasonic cameras in the design but I am looking for ideas on how routing of controls can allow either camera to be selected when in a combined space.

Bosch DICENTIS Wireless + Q-SYS integration (open source)

I recently had a project where I needed tighter integration between a Bosch DICENTIS Wireless conference system and Q-SYS, but couldn't find an existing plugin that did everything I needed.

So I ended up building one and decided to open-source it.

Features currently include:

  • Connect to Bosch DICENTIS Wireless WAP
  • Seat and microphone status monitoring
  • Active speaker information
  • Waiting list monitoring
  • Battery status
  • System power control
  • Feedback and status updates for use in Q-SYS UIs and automation

GitHub:
https://github.com/JClaerebout/Q-SYS-Plugin-Bosch-Dicentis-Wireless

I'm sharing it in case it's useful to anyone else working with Bosch conference systems and Q-SYS.

Feedback, feature requests, and testing on different DICENTIS firmware versions are very welcome. If anyone is already integrating DICENTIS with Q-SYS, I'd also be interested to hear what features you're missing in your own deployments.

How often do you update your qsys systems?

I’m struggling with the number of new designer releases. On the one hand, I love that they are actively and quickly making improvements. On the other hand, I can’t keep up. I don’t always update all of our rooms every time they release a new update, but it seems that the updates often fix a problem I have been having. So I will go and update all 10-12 systems that I oversee which is a pita only for a new version to come out a couple weeks later.

I work at a university and all of the systems I am dealing with are in the building with me, so it is very tempting to push every update, but that is not sustainable.

My question is, how often do others update their q-sys systems?

Update: no-code UCI templates — beta is live!

A few months ago I posted in here about an idea for no-code UCI templates and got way more interest than I expected. That pushed me to actually finish it — the beta is now live.

Quick context for anyone who didn't see the original: think Q-SYS Room Suite, but for the regular Core. A wizard to customize the UCI, a few blocks to wire up, a handful of code names to set, and you're good to go.

The goal is to make it as easy and as fast as possible for programmers to deliver professional-looking, fully functional UCIs — with the features clients actually expect: camera preset save/recall, source selection with auto-switching on input, volume control, and more.

For some rooms a fully custom UCI is the only way to go — that's never going to change. But a lot of rooms aren't that complicated, and for those, having something customizable and quick to deploy saves real time and money. More projects for us, lower cost for the client. Win-win.

Right now it's built around a single room, single display setup. A PRO version and additional designs are on the roadmap, but I really need real-world feedback first to make sure what's there actually works for you.

Free to download and tryucikit.com has the details.

Thanks again to everyone who's already given feedback. Really hoping this beta lives up to expectations.

User controlled mic gain

Client wants adjustable individual mic gain; how much range would you give them? I am thinking +4 -8?

Alternative to the unD6IO-BT

So, turns out that 3 month ago the unD6IO-BT has been discontiuned. One of the module in my institution has broke down unable to power it up anyhow. I told our expert for programming it that I need a new module and they told me that is no longer available.

So I was wondering if there was some alternative that do the exact same thing, using in Dante AND in AES67 with PoE.

Thanks!

Css Style for Tabs and Popup buttons

Hi to all,

I’m working on a project where I’m styling all the components with the css.
I’ve successfully styled the basic components referenced in the guide (textblock, groupbox, fader, meter, etc), but I can’t find a way to stylize some other components like the Tabs of the uci toolbar or the style of the popup button component.

Any hints on how to stylize it or other non standard/layout components?

Thanks to all
Cheers
