anyone else taking summer classes and feel a little depressed?

all my friends are celebrating the end of finals and summer but I got a full time internship and a ton of summer classes to help me graduate on time. I feel a little depressed because this summer not even gonna feel like a summer vacation.

Accounting Business Track

Hello,

I was just curious if any of the accounting grads who chose the business track are still around here. I’m wondering how that path turned out for you. What made you decide to go that route?
or if any current students are in the business track, share why you chose it over advanced.

Queens College

Currently I am a junior and would be a senior this fall. I started to think about what major I wanna study in college. I wanted to be a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. My family is supportive about my decision. The problem is there are plenty of courses in CUNY colleges. And I found them a little complicated. Some are integrated BS/MS program(Hunter college) which is total 5 years program but the thing is they don't guarantee you the MS/Dietetic Internship spot. Hunter's BS program in Nutrition and Food science doesn't offer DPD(Didactic program in Dietetics) coursework. As far my research I get to know that you need to have a DPD verification to get in DI/MS program. Other CUNY colleges(Lehman college, Brooklyn college, Queens college) offer the DPD course in undergraduate level. I'm thinking about Queens college since it's close to my house. And later I can complete my MS/DI from any private University.
Is anyone here currently studying or have studied Nutrition and Dietetics in Queens college? Would you like to share your experience with me? and is it worth studying that major?

Should i continue my class and fail or get a withdrawal?

Hi everyone. I'm currently not doing well in school due to possibly having a really bad dissociative or pyschotic episode. I have started very well in first 2.5 months but fell down in late march and april. Yes i have been going to therapy and medications but i think it triggered episodes due to uncovering multiple personal traumas i didn't notice. What should i do?

I'm trying to do all of my work rn but i feel like i won't do well. I can't afford to pay my full tuition without tap and fasfa if i fail. Any advice?

Does the Math department let the final exam replace the overall course grade?

Asking for a friend, he said he didn't show up for any of his regular exams within the course and he only relied on the homework and the final exam. To me that doesn't make sense because when I took the 122 test I believe we had 4 exams including the final.

MTA Strike

I’m wondering what’s going to happen if there’s a strike Saturday which could last into finals week. They’re saying we could have like triple the amount of traffic… and I also know people who go to queens who don’t drive and only take trains. I’m nervous about this whole situation tbh. Has queens addressed anything with this? This is going to affect everyone most likely- but especially anyone coming from LI.

I just need ONE more stamp from my counselor and she will be out this and next week! Will they kick me out of SEEK program? I have 9 stamps and I have to drop off the SEEK card next Tuesday. What should I do?

How does my schedule look?

Hey I'm a transfer student to queens and after I met with my transfer advisor she really recommended me taking most of these classes. I'm already used to a high workload in college due to my previous institution but I'm looking for any feedback from people who know how this school operates.

Should I Transfer to Queens College or Stay at My Current School?

Hi everyone, I’m a transfer student who got accepted to Queens College and the Transfer Honors Program, and I’m really conflicted about what to do.

I’m currently happy at my school. I have great relationships with professors, I’m a psychology major and dance minor, and I really enjoy the dance program. I’m also very social and like going out, meeting people, and having an active social life.

The issue is cost. My current liberal arts college would cost me around 25k, while Queens would basically be free.

I also want to get into a good grad school for psychology, so I’m trying to think long term.

For people at Queens:

  • What are the biggest pros and cons?
  • How is the social life?
  • Is it hard making friends as a transfer student?
  • Are there good psychology research/opportunities?
  • Is giving up a smaller liberal arts environment worth the money saved?

I feel stuck because one option feels emotionally right and the other feels financially smarter. Any advice would help.

having a rough last semester

hi yall. im about to graduate and my life is a mess. my grandma has been sick and in the hospital. she has horrible insurance so we’ve been trying to figure that out, it’s a lot of money and my mom has had to miss so much work being at the hospital with my grandma. she was sick with someone else, but at the hospital, they found a lot of different problems, and are suspecting breast cancer. this has caused me to miss so much class. one of my teachers is about to fail me. i’ve gotten two awards from school, but now im feeling like a fraud. i want to go to law school, but now im terrified. does anyone have any advice on what to do? i think ill still be able to graduate since i have 2 majors im completing, but with an f for my other major, ill be missing credits. i’m trying to explain to him that im going through a hard time but he’s not having it, which honestly, i understand. i missed so much class without emailing because truly, ive been completely succumbed by fear and anxiety about my grandma. she’s my best friend and it is the hardest thing in the world seeing her like this. idk. kinda just asking for advice or whatever. thanks!

Senior Activities

Does this school offer any senior events such as a senior formal or anything else? Or are there any bar crawls or anything for the seniors to celebrate or is there nothing?
