Quinn Buffs seem to be heavily focusing on shifting her to jungle

Quinn Buffs seem to be heavily focusing on shifting her to jungle

I wish we got more general buffs to help her overall rather than just buffs that affect jungle (like the mana cost reduction on R), but I can still see this being used to wipe an enemy jungle monsters to deny their side resources if your own jungle can’t while you’re roaming if playing different lanes

[S16 Updated] Quinn Matchup/Build Guide Website

Website Link - https://quinn.gg/

MarshmalIow#NA1 here again - if (like me) you found QuinnAD's matchup guide website to be super useful for helping you learn Quinn and as a useful in-game resource (with matchup reminders, sample builds, and cooldown trackers), I have made a revamped version of that style of website. It has been down for forever, and it's been unclear whether QuinnAD was planning to revive it (he still links it in his latest YT vids). All I know is that it was a key part of my journey to one-tricking Quinn, so - in the interim until QuinnAD updates his website - I wanted that same resource to be available to everyone else wherever they are on their Quinn journey.

This version draws from the archived site and his Mobafire guide (which is slightly more updated and is a good quickstart guide but not a good in-game tool). Notably, this version has been updated to reflect new champion matchups that have since appeared in top lane and to reflect updated S16 champion interactions. For example, one of the biggest changes you'll see are updated strategies to deal with the loss of the beloved Phase Rush.

The build and matchup info has been heavily cross-referenced with the builds and playstyles of the best Quinn players around the world. As always the recommended builds simply serve as a starting point - feel free to adapt them to your own preference and playstyle. Note, they are also geared towards what sees more success in top lane but have similar applications for mid.

There are a still a couple more niche matchups that are being added like Varus, Smolder, Briar, Udyr, and Shaco so look out for those. Let me know what you guys think - all questions and suggestions are welcomed! I'm just one guy so I'm positive there are things I might have missed. Best of luck out there on your climbs!

A possible awakening to a rework where Quinn becomes a jungler?

Well, to me, these buffs for Quinn in the jungle are very strange. I mean, I never liked her in the top lane; I think she never really fit in. I always saw her in the mid/jungle, and now it seems like Riot wants to take her out of the top lane and leave her only in the jungle. This seems like a prelude to a possible rework where she's designed to be just a jungler.

Like it or not, Quinn fantasy and story are that she's in the forests of Demacia and also behind enemy lines.

It also seems like a way for Riot to postpone her rework a bit, since if she's good in the jungle they won't need to make adjustments to the top lane because of the quests. Quinn looks awful lately after all these top lane changes.

Critality build question

For Quinn Jungle - If starting Hubris + Voltaic, what would be the best crit items to follow against a balanced team? LDR then IE?

Since you NEED items to make Quinn jungle work, lethality early pivoting into crit makes the most sense for an adc jungler. Getting crit sooner doesn't help if the game's already over. What do y'all think?

Also I hate hubris. But it makes sense to rush it 1st item given that you'll finish it close to level 6 and there's always some action somewhere at level 6.

For keystone I'll probably run HoB, lethal tempo, or maybe PtA if they're bruiserish. But I'm more interested in your itemization suggestions, not so much keystones.

I know people have only had 1 week to cook things... but still, thanks for any tips. Cheers!

quinn jgl stridebreaker

Hey so, a KR pro (Citrus) has been spamming jgl quinn and he play stride first.

Played a few games, honestly felt amazing. I def recommand, its kinda like lethality hydra, u use it on E. It give less dps, but more suvavibility with the life on it and the slow and ms boost can save u sometimes, or just to make them slow they cant escape.

He then goes collector, edge of knight, armor pen, then flex IE etc

he plays pta, but electrocute works rly well with stride tbh, u can e and stride during e for instant proc.

Hail of blades vs electrocute in the jungle

What are your thoughts on HOB in the jungle (if you have actually tested it).
I have been testing it for a few days now and I personally think it is better mid/late game and its not even close.

Draw Your Sword Quinn

Someone asked earlier which champions Draw Your Sword is good at and I think it's time to share this niche tech I've been gatekeeping since mayhem came out.

The reason why Quinn really utilizes this augment is because of percentages. She's the most buffed ADC in aram:

10% damage increase

-10% damage received

20% tenacity

Total Attack Speed Increased by 2.5%

Draw your sword enhances these greatly. My standard build in order is:

Collector, Kraken, Vamp Boots, IE, LDR, BRK

But any full crit oriented build works too, this is just what works for my playstyle consistently.

Take any crit augments, your goals is to have 100% as soon as possible. But these greatly compliment this build: Vampirism, any Range augments.

The only annoying thing with this in my opinion which is my wish from Riot as a Quinn enjoyer is that the second part of her E is a fixed range. So having DYS (or maybe even when if not) on her is really wonky since it places you far away and need to move closer to auto once you cast it everytime. In my opinion would really benefit her if it scaled with range like MF or Smolder Q.

Counter is when it's a mostly range matchups for obvious reasons but whenever I run this, it's very hard to be defeated on skirmishes.

Don’t you feel like people lose games on purpose?

I’ve genuinely never had games this bad as Quinn jungle, especially now that Quinn is a jungler! It honestly feels like people see you pick Quinn and decide they’re going to lose on purpose because they dislike the champ. I’m coming off my 3 most frustrating games in ages — the enemy team groups like they’re T1 while on my side the support is split pushing, my ADC is waiting for a gank in bot, and my 0/77 top laner won’t even show up to shop.

At this rate I feel like Quinn is either going to get buffed — which for the first time in my life actually feels unnecessary — or they’ll remove her from the jungle, and that would honestly be a shame.

And the MID, by the way, AFK.

Tried Jungle

Just tried to play jungle on Quinn for the first time, had a bot lane that couldn't get kills to save their life and a Mundo that wanted me to gank all the time, but I couldnt even get close without the enemy Teemo mines causing a problem.

"Mom, look! Project Anivia!"

Nice drone, Riot games.
At least Quinn looks cool, I personally like the visor. Just wish the chromas changed VFX but oh well, riot missing on some money I guess

Spaceglider Quinn Build

MarshmalIow#NA1 here, back with another theorycraft build for Quinn for the folks who prefer her duelist playstyle over the assassin one. The TLDR is that kraken into phantom dancer is a highly affordable, consistent, and satisfying 2 item powerspike for a duelist Quinn build that I highly recommend you checking out.

Kraken provides a balanced mix of damage and attack speed, as well as 4% MS. Its build path is also very consistent, unlike Stormrazor or Yuntal, whose components don't give AD spikes unless you have 1300 gold for BF sword. PD as the second item here brings the spaceglide build to life, offering 65% attack speed, the ghosting passive, and a whopping 10% MS, all for the low price of 2650 gold. After PD, I'll finish tier 2 boots (usually swifties, unless enemy is full ad or extremely cc heavy).

These core items combined with PTA, alacrity, cut down, and celerity give you both high consistent DPS and mobility for chasing and kiting. I have also been really liking exhaust as an all-round utility dueling summoner spell. It can be used offensively, for surviving early all-ins, and outplaying/shutting down high damage threats on the enemy team. Otherwise ghost and ignite are solid options too, if you need to match enemy ghost or need early heal cut.

The rest of the build is standard crit items based on what you need in the game - typically 3rd item will be LDR or mortal. Then you can go damage (IE, hexoptics, BT, etc.), utility (immortal, GA, randuins, maw, kaenic, etc.), or a mix of both.

I'll also take this time to follow-up on my initial on-hit Hail of Blades theorycraft post, as I've now had a chance to properly test things out. Long story short, the new HOB is unfortunately eclipsed by other keystones once you pass around level 3, with the difference in power being especially felt at higher levels. I saw that other masters+ players have been trying to make HOB work for attack speed Quinn, but my read is that HOB doesn't give as consistent of results compared to PTA or lethal. Quinn just doesn't have a built-in on-hit like vayne/varus/kaisa, who can take advantage of the HOB autos better. The only time I'd consider running HOB now is into matchups with volatile lvls 1-3 such as Irelia.

I also tested out Stormrazor and Voltaic and have come to the sense that they are bait items for an attack speed build. They simply offer less consistent damage and MS than Kraken PD - and the lethality build just bursts better 9 times outta 10. At first glance, stormrazor seems like it would work with an attack speed duelist build. But storm razor in a 2 item spike doesn't offer enough attack speed to glide during the MS steroid - so you end up sacrificing either dps or the MS and resorting to an un-ideal poke/hit-and-run/burst playstyle. The passive offers high utility but lower overall DPS and dueling potential. And again, unless you can consistently survive until 5 minutes to back with 1300 gold for BF, the other components of Stormrazor are just so bad, and feel even worse if you have both of them instead of BF. Voltaic is even more of a burst item and provides no attack speed, so it is out of the question as a first or second item here. Crit / utility items are just way more valuable late game, so it isn't as good to pick up voltaic late.

If you'd like to see the build/playstyle in action, I saved one of my vods (apologies in advance for low quality). Otherwise feel free to give it a shot and lmk what you guys think. Any questions or comments are welcomed. Happy gliding everyone 🙏

Quinn jg

I have been testing Quinn jg today a bit, i think It feels really bad compared to mid ngl, but im gold in flexso whatever works, has anyone figured out a half decent first clear yet? I can't seem to get under 2:58

u/Jorgebct — 8 days ago

Quinn feels weak af in mid?

Been trying quinn since the buffs and god damn it's rough out here for me. I get outtraded so hard by basically everyone in lane... I'm playing electrocute, building hydra, ldr, Blade of Night and last item is matchup dependant, but often GA

Even in the early game and we're completely even, my damage still feels completely dogshit.

What are you guys playing?

Losing streak…what should I work on

Tried a fair few games with Quinn on ranked, I would like to think I perform okayish but I am losing a lot, please help me identify what I should work on. I am trying to climb to Emerald this season, so any tips to break through Platinum is appreciated too. Thanks!
