anyone else here considering the ktr2?

I really liked the ktr1 and it was my main before the rg477m. I also just love that purple color and would like the 3:2 screen as I mainly play GBA.

Specs of both the ktr2 and rg477m added at the end for reference.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi everyone I just got an RG477M (12GB/256GB).

Today I downloaded a game using the GameHub lite v5.33. After the download finished, I restarted the device normally.

Now, it got stuck on the boot logo and won’t boot into Android anymore.

I didn’t root the device, change any system settings, or install any other system apps. I only used the stock GameHub to download a game.

I tried booting into Recovery, but it still won’t start.

Has anyone had the same problem? How did you fix it?

Do I need to reflash the official firmware, or is there another way to recover it?

Thanks a lot!

Does GammaOS have the stock trigger simulation (Linear/Non-linear) setting?

Hi everyone,

I’ve got an RG477M running GammaOS.

I was watching a YouTube video where someone using the stock firmware went into the controller settings and changed the trigger mode to Linear or Non-linear, which I believe simulates analog triggers even though the L2/R2 buttons are digital.
I'm hoping to play Super Mario Sunshine in Dolphin, where analog triggers are useful. Is there an equivalent setting in GammaOS, or is that feature only available on the stock firmware?

I am creating a mali focused windows emulator

Hello guys, I just wanted to share that as a hobby I am vibecoding Mali focused Windows games emulator that is based on game native and winlator mali. I am building this just for fun and I am focusing primarily on RG 477M as a target for this project as this is the only device that I own. I will soon achieve a milestone of working prototype and I'm planning to host this at GitHub of course it is going to be open source. Would you be interested in it?

I feel like devices with Mali are very underestimated because of lack of drivers, I was surprised how much better winlator mali performed compared to stock game native or gamehub.

And to be honest, all I wanted was to play Fable the lost chapters again but it all came down to this project. I really love this device and I am encouraging you to help developing it to its full potential if you can.

Shoulder buttons from aliexpress

Hello there,

The better buttons from etsy cost almost 60€ with shipping and then I would have to deal with customs.

I got Rg477m 12gb for 193€ from AliExpress and can't understand how 4 buttons cost 1/3 of it.

I found on AliExpress several buttons for Rg477m and the price is like 3-10€.

Does anyone tried them yet?

PlayStation buttons

Hi everyone!
I know the RG477M is a fantastic handheld that a lot of people love, and right now it doesn’t really have an equivalent. I’ve had quite a few people asking if I would bring back the PlayStation buttons after I stopped making them.
Well, they’re back! If you’re interested, they’re now available on my Etsy shop: SakuraRetroModding.
The brown-symbol PlayStation buttons are by far the most difficult to make, so I’m not sure how many sets I’ll be able to produce. The other versions will remain available as long as there’s enough demand.
Thanks for all the support! ❤️

Muck models issue

Hello folks,

Muck is one of my favorite games, I'm trying to run it on RG477M.

I initially tried GameHub and steam with a lot of permutations combinations of DXVK version, VKD3D version and compatibility configs.

But the game loads get frozen at first frame.

Then I tried Winlator latest, Winlator Ludashi and some other winlator forks for Mali

On the winlator the game actually loads well, runs almost good as well.

The only issue I see is the game doesn't load the player model, enemy models, chests, etc.

In the lobby I can see player but only eyes, see the image attached.

From Winlator, I've tried to run the game from the steam client with no browser launch option and also with bypassing steam on the winlator with Goldberg emulator just to test.

From Winlator Ludashi, steam doesn't even open so I'm running the game directly there.

The same issue is there for both.

From the logs the only error I can see is, some null reference exception (attached screenshot).

Also I'm surprised this game is not even that big it's like less than 500MB and still gives some problem, where as other big games for PS2 etc can run easily, I guess probably issue with unity and compatibility?

Has anyone faced something like this before? Or can guide me in right direction.

Finally 100% PS2 Simpsons Hit & Run (plus gold acrylic pen tips)

I had started PS2 Simpsons Hit & Run on my Odin 2 long ago, so I moved my save files over to the RG477M and finally 100% finished it. Not sure if the bonus for completion Itchy & Scratchy toon was worth it...

Pro tip: on a level with Professor Frink's hover car, the emulation crawls down to 10 FPS in NetherSX2 Classic v2.2n. Switch the video driver from OpenGL to Vulcan and the game will run smoother.

I customized my RG477M using a gold acrylic paint marker pen swiped from my kid. Filled in the various buttons and the aftermarket stacked shoulder buttons. Needed to let the paint dry in the embedded buttons for ~15-30 seconds, then wipe clean the overfill from the top of the buttons with an alcohol wipe. I think it gives the game console a more polished look. Bonus that the acrylic paint doesn't wear off easily either.

GammaOS on RG477M – SD card setup for ROMs (bit unsure)

Hi all,

I posted previously about choosing between Stock OS and GammaOS for the RG477M. Since then I’ve gone with GammaOS after a bit more research, mainly for the CRT shaders, which really sold me on it. Appreciate all the help from my last post.

I’ve now got GammaOS installed and running, with Daijisho set up as the frontend. The flashing process was a bit of a headache at first with USB reconnects and button combinations, but I eventually got it sorted and everything is booting fine now.

Now I’m just a bit unsure about the SD card setup for ROMs.

What’s the best way to do it properly — should I format the card on a PC using exFAT, or is there a way to set it up entirely on the device so GammaOS handles everything for me, and then I just add the games afterwards?

Also, for file structure, do I need to manually set up folders like ROMs/PS2, ROMs/PSP, etc., or does Daijisho handle that automatically once everything is scanned?

And do I need to mess around with any storage paths in settings, or is it usually just plug-and-play once the SD card is inserted and detected?

If there’s a good guide or video out there that walks through all of this properly, I’d really appreciate a link 👍

Can I put bfi and shaders on ps2 games with the stock os?

I know this has been asked to death. But I'm getting my 477m in a couple days so I've been downloading roms and trying to decide on an OS I know gamma isn't going to update and has some issues, but it seems like stock os doesn't pus shaders or bfi on ps2 still? Help please 🙏

ROADBLASTERS on RG477M

Omg I love this game so much. Reminds me of visiting the Embassy Suites pool in Milwaukee circa 1989. Great fun on a portable.

Display always on when charging

Does anybody have a fix for this? I'm not looking to burn my display. I'm not sure if this issue effects stock OS or not as I'm on Gamma OS myself.

I've tried going into developer settings and making sure "device always on when charging" is disabled. I've tried adjusting screen time out settings as well just on the offchance it would work, but this makes no difference.

Finally got my RG477M! Quick question about GammaOS

Finally received my RG477M! (Long 4 weeks)

I've already got the 3D-printed shoulder bumper mod ready to install, and I'm just waiting for some PlayStation-style buttons to arrive. Once they do, I think I'll open the device up and fit everything at the same time.

This is my first Android handheld and it'll be used pretty much exclusively for PS2 gaming. I've got the 12GB/256GB model with a 256GB SD card for my games.

One thing I'm still undecided on is whether to stick with the stock OS or move over to GammaOS. I've read a lot of posts and there seems to be quite a bit of mixed feedback. Some people say GammaOS improves battery life and overall performance, while others say it causes issues or isn't worth changing from stock.

For those of you who have spent a decent amount of time with the RG477M, what's the general consensus these days? Are most people staying stock, or is GammaOS considered the better option?

Edit: Appreciate all the comments guys, thank you 😊

Good news! SakuraRetroModding is making another batch of RG477M PlayStation buttons

Quick update for anyone looking for RG477M PlayStation-style buttons.

I spoke with the original maker u/sakuraRM and he’s going to be doing another batch of them again 👍

No exact details on numbers or timing yet, but just wanted to share in case anyone else has been trying to get hold of a set like I have.

If you’re excited and planning to order a set, give this post an upvote so he can get an idea of how much interest there is!

Where are people getting PlayStation-style buttons for the RG477M?

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know where I can get PlayStation-style buttons for the RG477M?

I originally ordered a set from PortablePlayPalace, but after waiting around a month I was told they'd been lost in transit. A replacement was mentioned, but the order ended up being cancelled and refunded instead.

No hard feelings, but I'd rather look elsewhere at this point. I've searched around and can't seem to find anyone else making them for the RG477M.

If anyone knows a seller or has a link, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: I spoke to u/SakuraRM, and he said he’s going to restock some PSX buttons for the RG477M
