I’ve never owned a PC before, so this would basically be my first gaming device outside of a regular console. The main reason I’m interested in it is because I travel a LOT for uni/family stuff, so having a handheld sounds perfect. But at the same time, I’d probably use it docked most of the time at home with a monitor/controller like a normal setup.

One big reason I’m leaning toward the Ally instead of something like a Switch is because I want a Windows system. I might use it for other stuff too besides gaming, and I like the idea of having an actual portable PC instead of just a gaming console.

What’s making me hesitate is the price difference compared to the older Ally models. Is the Ally X actually worth paying extra for if I’m completely new to PC gaming?

I’ve also seen people complaining that some Xbox games don’t work properly on it or can’t be launched the same way as an actual Xbox, but honestly I don’t care that much about that part since I mostly just want access to PC games/Steam/etc 

Would this be a good first gaming handheld/PC for someone who’s never had one before, or should I save money and get an older Ally/Steam Deck instead?

Had the Ally x since launch, noticed about a month ago both stocks have stick drift. Not the most but noticeable. Doesn’t bother me wildly as I’ll be upgrading next year out two to whatever the newer version is. Anyone having this issue?

So I was wondering if any of you who own the Ally with Z2 Extreme have tried playing Valorant on it? Mainly with an external screen like Arzopa or any other?
Could you share your experience with that?

I was looking to buy a case for my xbox ally x and I was wondering if the travel cover included with the modcase was enough to travel with (safe when put in a backpack) or should I buy the JSUAX Slim Case instead?

I play battlefield, cod, madden, nhl, mlb, forza, sim games, nba 2k, James bond, indiana Jones, farming simulator, gta v, hunting games. I'd love to be able to play the new gta 6 on it as well.

I had one of the first onexplayers now for about 4 years and it has finally become incapable of keeping up w the AAA games and graphics cards. Example, I downloaded the new Forza and my graphics card is finally OLD. LOL.

I'd love to buy something asap. Perhaps a memorial day sale. Just wanted some thoughts. Have watched all the YouTube videos and reviews, just still not sure.

I just don't want to have to update a graphics card or new machine for many years after this.

Hello guys, I was wondering if using a capture card to use my MacBook screen as a monitor for my rog xbox ally x would work. Has anybody tried this, if so does it work well and is there a specific capture card that you would recommend?

I have an Ally X (not the XBox-version) and occasionally want to play games on Steam that don't support Handheld/Controller input. Do you have any recommendations for a keyboard and mouse? Is it possible to connect two devices wireless at the same time? I have a docking station if that's relevant.

So, I currently got an Acer Nitro 5 an515-52-52bw from 2020-ish. It got a gtx 1050, currently with 16gb of RAM, ssd m.2 etc… but it is kinda old now and struggles sometimes with light games. I usually play Tibia and Valorant, sometimes some Steam stuffs, but never AAA games.

I was wondering if it is worthy getting an Ally Z2 extreme, Ally Z1 Extreme, Ally Z2A, or a gamer notebook… Yes, I would love the portability of the item, and all of them probably are good enough for me, but I don’t know about their longevity.

If I go with an Ally, I would buy a portable screen with 16” 144hz usb-c, a 100w charger, a dock. With a notebook I wouldn’t need those but I would sacrifice the moments where I could just get a handheld and play on its screen anytime, but I would have more power.

I am from Brazil and got a family member visiting UK, so I have these options:

Ally z2e for 849 gbp + items, total would be around 1110 gbp (7400 BRL)
ally z1e refurb for around 500 gbp + items, total around 770 gbp (around 5153 BRL)
ally z2a for 500 gbp + items, total around the same as z1e
asus v16 gaming laptop with 4050 for 779 gbp, pretty much the same price as z1e and z2a.

I didnt find any other laptop for a good price, 1110 gbp is like a bit over my budget already…

I mostly play on the couch, on the living room table, possibly while traveling if getting an ally… I love portability, but am afraid of spending on Ally and get disappointed about its performance. I would like something for the long term, maybe 6 years…

Consider that the wage here is around 700 gbp after taxes, so yeah… it’s Brazil.

What would you guys do?

I bought a second hand ally x and have been trying to see if there is any undisclosed issues. Everything seems good my main concern was the battery quality.

I played Arc Raiders for 50 minutes and it used 50% of my battery. It was running on near max brightness and Turbo (25w/30w) the device is also running on Bazzite. Does that seem normal? It does to me but I just want to check it out other people's opinions thanks!

I own a xbox ally x since last winter. I LOVE IT ! Can I say it again, I LOVE IT! I also own a Legion Go 2 which is in itself 'better' but lol it has not seen the light outside its case since january. That said, I face repair cost for the upcoming bike season and my only spare cash is investing into gaming so .. i have to choose.

If you are on the fense for a Xbox ally x - don't be ! It is the best handheld on the market. Yes, yes screen is same as 2023 and lcd and small but thats the only 'down' of this device. The sound OMG (lego 2 sound like sand paper compared) and the ergonomic is simply unmatch.

So guys - kiss your xbox ally x for me bc i have decided that the one to go is the ally x and ill be keeping my lego 2.
