KAPUT

Can anyone explain the setup for tomorrow’s Kaput?

For context, my friends and I are new to the rave scene, and this will also be our first time attending a Kaput event. We’re a bit confused about the difference between the Live A/V portion and the actual party.

Since the Live A/V runs from 8 PM to 1 AM, followed right away by the party, we’re wondering what would be the best time to arrive. We’re mainly there for the music, dancing, and socializing, but we’d also appreciate any insights on how the night usually flows and when would be a good time to take a candy so we can better appreciate the experience and plan our night accordingly.

Any tips from seasoned Kaput attendees would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, and see you guys there! đŸ–€

Looking for rave buddy/ies

Hello everyone! I’m looking for someone to go to raves with!

For context I’m a 33-yo professional from Laguna. In the last 7 years I lived in Belgium and the Netherlands for grad school where my love for techno was ignited and blossomed. Over there I had my rave/festival crew and I went to raves solo from time to time which was also amazing.

I’m back in the Philippines for the time being
and I found myself alone since my friends here are not into raves. I also don’t feel like exploring the scene alone. I’m into the darker and harder side of techno (e.g., industrial (think of SNTS!!), schranz (Kobosil), psytechno (Indira Paganotto)). Based on what I’ve read here, would events like Klangnacht be up my alley?

Anyway, if you’re someone willing to introduce a fellow raver into the Manila techno scene or looking for a rave buddy, please hit me up!! đŸ«¶đŸœ

PICPOCKET IDENTIFIER

Hi, Rave Fam! đŸ«¶

I know that pickpockets and thieves have unfortunately made their way into the raving community, stealing phones and belongings from people who simply want to enjoy the culture.

Can we use this post as a way to help identify and avoid these individuals?
If the admins allow, please reply with a photo of a pickpocket only if you are sure that you personally witnessed them stealing, or if they were caught by the organizers/bouncers and are still roaming around freely.

Let’s look out for one another and stay safe out there! đŸ«¶

Is KAPUT good?

Is Kaput good? This will be my 3rd rave. My first was Aether, and the production was amazing! My second was Journ, but honestly, I was disappointed the venue was small, and the speakers, sound, and lights weren’t that good.

producers in 'rave' events where are they

yes. there i said it. i'm all for the culture but i can only see 1 or 2 music producers in the lineup sa mga rave events that have a catalog. yung iba for the vibes lang. isn't it also to support the artists pushing the movement? like i said from the previous post, stale na yung mga selection.

Diskoteka tix out. Anyone going on Sept 12? ✹

First big room party by them, so I’m curious what everyone’s expecting. Anyone here going? And for those who’ve been to their previous events, what’s the vibe usually like?

Just trying to get a feel for the crowd/music/overall experience. Might see you there 👀

Steam 3 (Sep 5) and Diskoteka (Sep 12)

Anyone else going for Steam 3? Excited for some good techno!! Been to Steam 1 and 2 and really love the underground rave vibes.

Also looking forward to Diskoteka but will be my first time - I heard the music is more chill, disco vibes?

Off my chest

This has been bothering me lately. Klang and Ravenila last tier tickets were less than 2k and managed to give everybody free water, candies, fans (ty ravenila) and a very giving production. While Raw’s last tier tickets were around 2.5k, has no free water and the production is just plain bsht for that price. There were international djs and the dj booth is just a tarp with a logo in it? Lol Maybe that’s why their videographers are just shooting from behind because it would be a laughing stock for their content.

The speakers? Like it’s their 4th warehouse already and there’s no improvement. They added a resting area but there’s just an air mattress and you need to bring your own pillow and blanket. Who tf brings pillows and blankets to a rave??

The security only cares about the ppl doing party favors and asking them for money or else they will be reported and kicked off the venue. While they’re doing that many people got their phones stolen lol

Is the owner really a raver? Or just someone milking ravers?

I have been to events like warphole, unknwn and kaput with the same price range but they never fail to deliver even if they don’t offer freebies.

Gang of pickpockets

Idk if these are the same people who have been victimizing the other raves but man it was horribly traumatizing. This was from a rave i attended just last saturday which i will refrain from mentioning. From what I’ve seen they group together (ive heard they would do 2 or 3 but in this particular event they were 5 or 6 and theyre for sure part of a bigger group, men and women) scouting potential victims, surround you then try to quickly grab whatever they can. They would also bump into you by numbers to disorient you. I made the mistake of getting in between one of their attempts and one of them was immediately very aggressive saying “wala naman kaming ginawa ah may problema ka ba gusto mo dalhin natin sa labas” and would repeatedly approach me throughout the night. They even tried to intimidate me some more by surrounding me. Immediately gtfo there.

I know this has been discussed here already but its a horrible thing thats happening and shouldnt be put to the side. Safety should always be everyone’s especially the organizer’s priority.

If you see red flags early dont hesitate to reach out to the organizers and if it’s really bad (ie bouncers who do nothing) please get yourself to a safe space right away.

Go with friends if you can, keep your things safe, buy a foldable laundry basket, keep the PLURR but be wary that not everyone has the best of intentions. Hoping that our “safe spaces” become safe again.

Rave na festival type

I haven't been to raves but I want to attend one. Kaya lang ung mga naresearch ko so far, either rave na underground pero pang RK based sa suot nila, or kung festival naman as in music band type Siya at hindi talaga rave.

I don't really have that kind of money to buy airfare tix to the west just to attend those like Gorge, Ultra Miami. Yung event na naka elephant pants lang and colorful hat saka bracelets, friendly people, and of course candy friendly hahaha. Meron kaya nun ditooo?

What makes a rave a "true" rave?

There have been posts going off on certain events being branded as "raves", club culture in events, overpriced water bottles and food, bad sound and light production, overplayed music, and basically everything under the sun. I do understand the concerns from the community because bad organization and disrespect to rave culture does lead to bad results.

At the same time, I would also like to ask everyone what makes a rave a true rave? What makes it good for the community? What makes it true to rave culture?

Is it good production? Music? Free water? Respectful crowd (with no pickpocketers of course)? No tables? No drugs? Is it queer-facing/queer-protective?

What are other factors that makes a rave considered to be true? And most importantly, what raves are considered to be true to rave culture?

Lastly, let's all be respectful to those who are new to raving. They deserve to explore all events and choose what they want to attend. If anything, this discussion should help them figure out what to really consider when choosing which rave to attend.

Warpx sado

Went to Warphole x Sado Maso Disco and genuinely had such a good time.
I really loved how the whole night felt focused on the sound and the space itself. Nothing felt overly flashy or distracting. The venue had that raw, underground feeling where you could just disappear into the crowd, lose yourself in the music, and dance.
I danced A LOT that night 😂 and what I appreciated most was how comfortable I felt just being myself.
The energy was light, intimate and welcoming. It felt like a safe space — no pressure, no trying too hard, just people enjoying the music and existing in the moment.
I also loved how close everything felt. It didn’t feel like you were watching something from a distance; you felt like you were part of it.
For me, that’s what underground nights should feel like. Good sound, good energy, freedom to move, and enough intimacy that you actually feel connected to the room.
Definitely one of those nights where you stop thinking about everything outside and just dance. 💗

"Rave"

These so-called "Rave" Events have been popping up left and right without actually being one.

I don't know what it is but it seems like they're blurring the line between clubbing and raving which shouldn't be the case.

Clubbing is completely different from raving and clubs shouldn't market their events as "raves" just because it's trendy or popular.

Organizers should do research first before slapping "rave" in their posters like it's a brand or something.

Don't y'all realize that this will hurt the community more than empower it? First time ravers, especially solo goers, will completely have the wrong idea of what a rave actually is and will just start associating raving with clubbing.

And I'm not blaming any ravers for going to these events because it's getting difficult to filter which are actually raves and which are clubs. If it's difficult for you to tell which one is a genuine rave, imagine the first timers.

I just want them to please stop branding club events/clubbing as a rave.

Can we please get a list here or at least draw a line here on which ones are actual raves vs clubs.?

Tips for a rave newbie

Context: I'm in my 40s, straight male, been to clubs in my youth, never been to a rave. Do you have any tips for someone going to their first rave solo, especially since the scene has changed a bit? And any raves I could go to this week that are welcoming of older millennials? Thanks so much!
