Looking for advice on renting in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Hey everyone! I’m planning to move to the Philippines soon and I’d really appreciate some advice on finding a place to rent.
I’m looking for a furnished 1-bedroom apartment/condo, preferably outside Manila. In a different city My budget is around ₱15,000 per month.
Is it realistic to find a decent furnished 1-bedroom for that price? Also, what websites, Facebook groups, or other methods would you recommend for finding rentals?
Any advice on good cities/areas to consider would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Pinapaalis na kami ng Landlord

Hello! We are renting in an apartment for almost 3 yrs now (w/ one baby), bale this august, nagsabi ang landlord samin na maghanap na kami ng lilipatan dahil kailangan nilang irenovate ang inuupahan namin, parang nagleleak na water from our apartment towards sa unit below us. We pay our monthly rent every 10th. We agreed to leave and had an agreement na di na kami magbabayad since we have a deposit and yun na ang icoconsume for aug 10 to sep 10. But the thing is, sabi nila kailangan na namin umalis ng aug 30 dahil daw sa maiiwan naming kuryente. We also have a 2k electricity deposit. So we agreed to leave by the 30th.

Today, the landlord came to our house at galit na galit at pinapasipa na ang pinto namin dahil hindi daw namin sila pinagbubuksan and called us "BASTOS at bingi bingihan" without even asking why. For context, we cannot hear anything pag sa kwarto kami natutulog and we have an aircon na maingay so wala talaga, kaya pag may shopee ako i have my phone on max volume so i can wake up once na nandon na sila samin.

She also mentioned antagal na daw nya kami gusto umalis dahil makalat daw kami sa bahay. So pinapaalis na nya kami until tomorrow after the heated argument.

Please help us po what to do btw, wala po kami contract. wala din silang official receipt pag nagbabayad kami

Working in BGC soon. Need suggestions about dorm and co-living.

Hello everyone! I will be working in BGC next month. Yung office is along 5th Avenue. I am currently looking for place to rent. Number 1 consideration ko is Dorm or Co-living because of the facilities since I'm starting pa lang. I'm considering MyTown, Quarto, Stay BGC, Dormiko.
Need your comments and suggestions.

  1. Gusto ko sana yung very walkable. And if safe ba kahit 8PM yung out. Safety and security talaga.
  2. Pwede maglaba, magluto? If no, may pantry or or surrounded by karenderya.
  3. If ever na sasakay ng tricycle papunta sa butas, how much po usually pamasahe?
  4. Yung utilities na walang hidden charges.
  5. Does reception accept parcels delivered to the address?
  6. Hindi ba nabaha sa area?

I am also considering The City Flats para within BGC and malapit lang talaga ako. But yun nga kasi cheaper food is outside BGC din.

I know I have a lot of questions talaga.

Any advice or tips? Moving to a bigger city is really one of the major decision I have to make this year. Thanks in advance.

Thoughts? Space or Not flood prone

Option A Currently living : Subdivision / Up and down/ 2 rooms / may garage and dirty kitchen pero yearly binabaha talaga (11,000) ang mahal ng kuryente

Option B : Along the highway but medyo maliit na dalawang rooms pero maliit tapos malapit sa grocery palengke as in tabi lang ng bahay, never binaha, then malapit sa inlaws, pero walang garahe ng sasakyan. tumira na kme malapit dito mas mura ung kuryente (12,000)

Family of five kme were the kids are being taken care of ng inlaws.

I dont know maybe sepanx lang ako sa option A kasi may time na naginlatable pool kme outdoors.

Pero kasi natrap kme with our motor before tapos wala kmeng malabasan. Midtown Subdivision sa Cainta ung option A. Anakpawis floodway naman ung option B

Buy a condo or keep renting? First-time family starting out in Metro Manila — worth it for personal use in 2026?

Hi everyone! Me and my partner are expecting our first baby soon, and this will be the first time we’ll be living together as a family. We’re planning to stay long-term in Metro Manila since work and career opportunities are here — but we’re stuck deciding between buying a condo or just to rent.

If buying makes sense - any recommendations for family-friendly
condo or apartment locations around
Metro Manila that are practical, safe, and reasonably priced?

We're completely new to this — never lived together on our own before, so all advice, personal experiences, or specific location recs are super appreciated! TYIA🤍

Where are you, roomie? | Pasig/Marikina/Eastwood/Katipunan/Cainta

I’ve been living here for 5+ years, and I’ve been working from home throughout that entire time.

I’ll be starting a new job soon, and it’s an on-site one, Monday-to-Friday setup. So I thought that, to help cut costs, I could offer my place to a female roommate po who can move-in ASAP.

🏠 Rent: ₱5,000
Terms to move in: 1 month advance and 2 months refundable deposit, payable 1 week before move-in date.

✅ The unit is already fully furnished

  1. TV (with HBO, Prime and YT Premium)
  2. Air conditioner
  3. Air purifier
  4. 2-level water filter
  5. Vacuum for the floor and ceiling
  6. CCTV (1 sa sala, 1 sa bedroom)
  7. Induction stove
  8. Mini refrigerator
  9. Air fryer
  10. Microwave
  11. Electric kettle
  12. Basic cooking items and utensils
  13. Washing machine and hangers
  14. Furnitures
  15. Fan (1 sa sala, 1 sa bedroom)
  16. All windows have proper curtains (not blackout)

Major red flags
Lint remover will be provided. Sorry na po agad.
🚩 I am very particular when it comes to what I put inside the house. As you can probably tell, I don’t have a lot of decorations to avoid clutter. 😂 Siguro, my books are the only exception? Everything else here is pretty much functional, so I’d really appreciate it if we can keep the place this way and avoid adding unnecessary stuff. 😊

For reference, these are the usual monthly bills
🌐 Internet: ₱1,500
⚡ Meralco: around ₱2,300 if the AC is on for about 10 hours nightly (around ₱4,500 if 16 hours daily)
💧 Water: around ₱300
💲 Total estimated monthly cost: ₱4,100

Some perks
➕ Monday to Friday, I’m at work from around 6 AM to 5 PM, so you’ll pretty much have the place to yourself during those hours (altho WFH ako for the whole of August).
➕ Saturdays and Sundays, I’m usually out (gym, hiking, or spending time with family and friends).
➕ I have a large standing desk and ergonomic office chair you’re welcome to use if you work from home. Kung hindi mo kailangan, I'll sell it to make space for us.
➕ I have two cats. They’re my responsibility, so I hope you are comfortable living with cats. They’re very sweet, clean, vaccinated and litter-trained.
➕ Occasional free food from parents/sibs -- sobrang hilig nila magluto so mambuburaot lang tayo sa kanila.
➕ I am very open to suggestions on how we can rearrange the space para mas ma-accommodate kita.

Your space
🎯 1st option: divide the bedroom and bring your own bed (single or full double in size) but if you're a girl, you’re welcome to share my queen-size bed for the meantime.
🎯 2nd option: save up for a bunkbed and buy on our 2nd/3rd month. I'll shoulder the cost.

Location and about the place
📍 I can only give the barangay address and not the exact location -- this is for my safety po.
- One tricycle ride from LRT-2 Santolan Station and one bangka away from Eastwood.
- Walking distance to a talipapa and supermarkets
- Flood-free
- Around 30–40 sqm
- Bathroom with shower
- Laundry area with space to hang clothes
- Quiet building
- No parking space for motorcycle or car but there's a place you can rent for parking (P3,000 monthly ata yun)
- A very residential street with lots of plants, so it has a peaceful, homey vibe

About me
29-year-old straight female
Single
Licensed
Sa Makati ang work na dayshift

If you’re interested, send me a message with a short intro about yourself.

You’re also welcome to drop by and check out the apartment first before deciding. No pressure. 🙂

PS: This is a repost. Medyo naging cluttered yung previous post ko so I had to delete.

I sometimes sleep on the sofa while the TV is on.

Notice the sofa?

The storage both sa taas ng sink and baba will be shared. I'll make sure you have space for your stuff too.

I only have few items here and obviously will make space for you here too.

The workspace (standing desk and office chair) will be sold kung di mo naman gagamitin. If you don't have your own closet, I can lend you that tall 6-tier storage. I also have 2 storage boxes na pwede mong paglagyan ng random stuff mo habang wala ka pang lalagyan. The bed once unfolded is a queen size bed, so we can share that too if wala ka pang sariling bed. Wag ka lang sana malakas humilik? In which case, I can sleep sa sofa but expect na naka-on ang TV hahahha

My cats -- Ming (siamese, female) and Ding (puspin, male). They're very nosy and clingy. Ming would ignore your food but Ding would like a sniff for sure. For some reason, laging inaamoy ni Ding yung pwet ni Ming. Hahahahah TMI.

These are not set in stone, pwedeng-pwede natin baguhin depende sa trip natin sa buhay.

All for brainstroming and again, depende sa trip natin.

Homeless anywhere 😢😭

I’ve been bed spacing since college, then nag work na. So mga 8-9 years ish.

The issue is, ako 🥺

I’ve been figuring myself rin also to have a good hygiene, malinis sa gamit at sa paligid .

Sa ngayon kay bf ako nag sstay siguro for 1 month muna. Need ko na talaga mag solo since hybrid and shifting ako kaso 7k lang budget 😭

I feel homeless anywhere, my bf place is not my place. In my home, bisita na lang rin ako 😭 kahit sa kwarto sa sahig na lang rin ako. I’m so tired of moving and moving and no place or room or bed I can call mine 💔.

Ps. Pls do not post in other pages. might delete later.

Flooded Areas in Metro Manila

The magnitude of rains in the past days made me realize how important it is for renters to choose the right areas to prioritize when renting as well as the areas to avoid when it comes to flooding. I would appreciate if you can shares specific areas that had been flooded recently for everyone’s reference when checking for a property to rent.

I could also summarize for everyone when we have more or less substantial insights from the community. 🙏🏽😌❤️

Goodbye 8K reservation fee💸

Pa vent out lang.
I was looking for a unit nung Saturday. The first studio-type unit I visited was in Makati. New building siya, and pagkakita ko pa lang, gusto ko na siyang kunin. 11,500/month siya, pero may application process pa. Nag-check ulit ako sa Guadalupe. Small studio-type din with a partition, pero walang AC, walang grills yung window, and 6th floor. I paid 41K (11K/month x3, 1k elevator fee x3 & 5k utilities security deposit) on the spot and signed the contract. May reservation form din na pinapirmahan sa akin, and sabi ni kuya, 8K daw yun for reservation. Since nagbayad naman ako on the spot, pina-cross out niya yung 8K and pinalitan ng 41K. I really liked that building kasi bago pa lang and mas okay yung security compared sa Guada. So I decided to get the Makati unit and pull out sa Guada. 33K lang daw ang mare-refund since considered reservation fee yung 8K, and check pa yung ibibigay instead of bank transfer.

Thoughts on Quarto/Stay BGC/O2+ South Cembo?

Currently deciding between the three. No. 1 sana si quarto pero ang tagaaaaaal nila magreply or mag update. Their posting sa socials is active, I don't sa admin nila for reservations/queries.

But I have read about sa surge ng utility bills.

O2+ naman pinakamalapit sa butas and I love the set up and vibe. Parang mas maleless yung homesickness ko dun lol. But they have 1800 na fized fee for utility.

Anyone staying sa mentioned dorms/co-living space? Need your thoughts. Thank you!
