Four new flock cameras (Renton adjacent)
Hello. I am notifying everyone here that there are four (4) new flock cameras pointing in all directions over on coal creek parkway and newcastle way. These cameras are a risk to the community and I encourage everyone to avoid the intersection.
Stay safe friends!

FREE WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION EVENT — RENTON, WA
I’m a dentist in Renton, and one of my goals is to give back to the community by providing access to dental care for people who may not otherwise be able to afford it.
I also work closely with an oral surgeon to train and mentor other dentists in surgical procedures, including extractions and dental implants. We’re excited to bring that training and experience into the community with our next FREE dental event!
Our next event will focus on wisdom teeth extractions.
If you or someone you know needs their wisdom teeth removed but hasn’t been able to afford treatment, send me a message. We’ll schedule a screening appointment to determine whether you’re a good candidate for the event.

king5.comExplosion in renton highlands
This morning around 9 am there was a loud explosion that made my house shake and a bunch of car alarms go off. Did anyone else hear this? Why are there so many random explosions here? I want to solve this mystery
I know the sub is probably gonna be flooded with these, my driveway view of the meteor tonight
I thought for sure I was just seeing things, or the streetlight went out. Turns out it was this! It happened around 12:48am (my camera is off by an hour)
Legacy Square Summer Concerts
A friend wants me to join him at Leacacy Square for a show? whats the vibe like there? Do people feel sate? How's parking. My recollection of downtown Renton is that there isn't much parking close where the venue is. Which woukd mean parking offsite and walking. After that tragedy at bite Bite of Seattle I'm pretty uptight about goin anywhere. Renton has had its share of violence in the news of late. Screw it... I think i just talked myself out of going.
violation info / traffic ticket (sent months late)
Moved here a few months ago. Did not realize there was a red light camera and rolled through the stop sign. The issue was that this was months ago, and presumably I've been doing this... many times. The tickets are now starting to roll in months later.
My understanding is that these are invalid tickets because they need to be postmarked within 14 days. Not 3 months later. Date postmarked was 7/27, date of infraction 04/27. I paid the first one but I got another just now and i'd expect at least another two or three.
What's the best way to deal with this?
Job advice for finding something in tech/IT?
Hey yall, I know Im probably beating a dead horse here but Im really looking to break into my first tech job. I have a computer science degree and I'm still just doing deliveries for Amazon Flex. Id really like to help take care of my parents more but I can barely pay my own bills currently. Looking for any and all advice, connections, etc. Ive been applying on indeed, handshake, LinkedIn, reaching out to folks on NextDoor, discord, etc. Starting to feel kind of hopeless, but I thought reaching out to local rentonians might help. Thanks in advance!
Date night suggestion?
My husband and I will be in the area of The Landing this weekend and want to work in a little dinner date while we’re out. We’re middle aged and don’t drink, so not into the bar/grill vibe. We’re more casual than fancy and will be coming directly from another location, so no interest in getting dressed up or anything.
Some of our favorite cuisines are Korean, Italian, and Mexican, but open to others. Budget is not a huge factor, but lower priced is never a bad thing. We’re more into quality than quantity when it comes to food.
An ideal option would include entrees under $30, food made as close to from scratch as possible, and be a comfortable place where we can hang out and chat a while.
Any suggestions?
Infant daycare
Hi there ! I’m looking for infant daycare for my 7m daughter in the renton / Newcastle area. I work just off exit 7 and live by liberty high. I preferably want afternoon part time however I know that can be tough to find as most are AM part time. I’m open to full time however I cannot afford paying almost 3k for one child in daycare. I am pregnant with my second so I’d want to be able to have two kids in daycare by next fall. So 5-6k a month in daycare in the future is definitely not ideal.
I’m open to anything that you have loved for your kiddos whether it’s at a corporate owned place, or an in home. I have heard the corporate ones are more pricey though.
I love kiddie academy but they’re one of the ones that a little too expensive for us since I’m still just getting back into work. I only work two days now so it’ll take me time to get back up to being able to afford nearly 3k in daycare expenses.
Please give me all recommendations of where to go and look and who to stay away from !
My husband works at the landing so even something down there would be good as he would drop off and I’ll pick up!
Would Renton support a large, modern indoor roller rink? 🛼
I've been seriously thinking about opening a new indoor roller skating facility in Renton, and before taking the idea further, I'd really like to hear what people in the community think.
My idea isn't to build another traditional roller rink where you just skate in circles.
I'm imagining a much larger, modern indoor facility — potentially larger than any existing roller rink in Washington — designed for both casual skaters and people who actually want to learn, practice and progress.
The idea could include:
• A very large, smooth main skating floor
• A dedicated freestyle slalom area with permanent cone markings
• Areas for practicing tricks and freestyle skating
• Jumps and smaller obstacles
• A large ramp for more advanced skaters
• Skate rentals for people who don't own skates
• Lessons for beginners, kids and adults
• Music, lighting and a comfortable place to hang out
• Space for birthday parties and events
Most importantly, I'd want it to be a place for all skill levels — someone putting on skates for the first time should feel just as welcome as an experienced inline or quad skater practicing slalom, jumps or tricks.
Since we live in Washington, I'd also love to create a place where people can skate and train year-round without worrying about rain.
But before investing serious time and money into something this large, I want to know whether people would actually use it.
Would you go to a place like this if it opened in Renton?
I'd especially love to know:
• How far would you be willing to drive to get there?
• How often do you think you'd visit?
• Do you skate inline, quads, or would you be a beginner?
• Would you mostly want open skating, slalom/freestyle, ramps and jumps, lessons, or something else?
• What would make you choose this place over existing roller rinks?
• What would make you NOT come back?
• What admission price would feel reasonable?
And if you don't skate now but think you or your kids might try it if something like this existed nearby, I'd love to hear from you too.
I'm genuinely looking for honest feedback — including criticism. I'm trying to figure out whether Renton and the surrounding area actually need a place like this.
What would your ideal roller rink look like?
