Opinion | How to Make a Jihadist Martyr of Nidal Hasan

Jihadist killer Nidal Hasan deserves his future in hell, but before he gets there Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants him to die before a firing squad open to the public for all to watch and record. This is a bad idea for many reasons, not least that it offers the killer the public martyrdom he craves.

These columns don’t oppose the death penalty. For some murders, it shows that a society is serious enough about its self-preservation to deliver retributive justice. Mr. Hasan killed 13 and wounded 32 others at Fort Hood in 2009 in the name of Islam.

But his execution is best done quietly with few witnesses beyond officials and the families of the victims who wish to attend. This consigns him to history with ignominy but no fanfare. Mr. Hasan has said “I would still be a martyr” if executed, and that he killed those soldiers because they were “going against the Islamic Empire.” A livestreamed death, complete with some incendiary last words, is what he wants.

Do you think the mid terms will go our way I am in NYS and Hochul is destroying NYS

Between the 47 rate hikes to electric approved by her, ask for by a committee chosen by her, who donate to her election fund and are granted no bid contracts, and her congestion pricing to travel into NYC. She is killing the average New Yorker my Electric Bill has risen in the last four years from 300 every 2 months to 550 a month with more rate hikes scheduled. How can people continue to vote for the same corruption year after year and expect change . It boggles my mind. I come on to reddit and it is like it is a democrat echo chamber with some really stupid people who will down vote facts argue, when you question where the things they are spewing are coming from, and just repeat the same argument. I remember when I could have a reasonable talk with anyone even when it came to politics not anymore. She has destroyed NYS economy with the sanctuary cities in NYS Rents are through the rook utilities are through the roof the cost of goods make owning a business a distant dream
