I was recently looking at removing the big rear fender on the revv1 fs but I can’t seem to do it. Anyone know how to take it off? What are some other options that are more clean than the stock one and on sale?

Hey everyone. I've been commuting in Boston on my Revv1 FS since late 2024 (~1,500 miles). Love the bike, but my brakes are a mess.

Spongy Rear Brake: I have to pump the brakes like 5 times to get any pressure. It came from the factory needing extra pumps, but it's significantly worse now.

Terrible Noise: Both brakes make a crazy sound under load. I swapped the rear pads at 900 miles, and the fronts are getting low. I am aware that this is a common problem with stock pads.

I don't have many tools to fix it myself. When I took it to a shop for the pad replacement, they claimed a brake bleed wouldn't help since "the bike came like that." They quoted me $700 for a full brake replacement with mt5es.

I want a cheap but reasonable fix. What exactly should I ask a (different) mechanic to do, or what specific replacement parts should I buy to have them install?

Does anyone know the ampacity of the headlight wires coming off the controller? Hoping to take advantage of the existing wiring since the headlight system is already at 12v, but I don't know how many amps the current wires can push.

This is for a Revv1 FS with the 35A controller. If you happen to be able to provide the same information for the horn circuit, that would be much appreciated!

I have the FS. I feel like I'm feeling all the bumps on paved paths. The suspension is open but the main issue is the handlebars/fork? I feel all the vibration. I have compression all the way open as well. Any suggestions?

Today the Revv1 FS probably saved me from having a really bad day.

I had a pickup in the lane to my left about 30 feet ahead of me while I was riding along the right shoulder at around 28-30 mph. Out of nowhere he realized he was about to miss his turn and swerved completely across my line while standing on his brakes to barely make it.

I had nowhere to go.

I grabbed both brakes as hard as I could and just hoped everything stayed under control. To the bike’s credit, the Revv1 FS stayed planted and stable through what was probably the hardest stop I’ve ever done on it. While I was braking I somehow had the presence of mind to hit the horn, and I honestly think that’s what got the driver’s attention. He jerked forward enough to give me the little bit of space I needed.

He’s still an idiot, but I’m grateful the bike did exactly what it was supposed to do when I needed it most. I rode away instead of getting loaded into an ambulance.

Just a reminder to everyone:

- Never assume a driver sees you.

- Expect people to do the dumbest thing imaginable, especially when they realize they’re about to miss a turn.

- Know exactly where your horn button is before you need it.

- Keep your brakes adjusted and your bike maintained. You don’t get to choose when your emergency braking test happens.

- Stay safe out there. Yesterday was a reminder that sometimes all the little things - good brakes, a stable bike, and a split-second reaction - are what keep you riding home.

If you go over to the ebikes subreddit you'll notice how many people hate moped style bikes and scapegoat them for the reason legislation is getting stricter.

What kind of experiences are you guys having with your bike in public? Have you ever been confronted on the legality of your Revv1?
