Howcome there are so many young men and women who are Rhodies/rhodieboos? I am one myself and I don’t get why I have such a fascination with Rhodesia

A couple of years ago, I joined a Rhodesian Facebook group out of curiosity, and it ended up being one of the most disappointing online communities I've ever been in.

I've dealt with plenty of rude people on the internet, but that group was on another level. No matter what you posted or said, there always seemed to be someone looking for an argument or trying to be an asshole for no reason. It felt less like a place for discussion and more like a contest to see who could be the most obnoxious.

What really confused me was how obsessed some people were with a country that hasn't existed for decades. Instead of having interesting conversations about history, many discussions would spiral into insults, hostility, and racist rhetoric. It got old very quickly.

I wasn't expecting everyone to agree with me, but I also wasn't expecting that level of toxicity. Looking back, it's easily one of the worst Facebook groups I've ever been a part of.

With WW2 now passing from living memory. I was wondering about the possibility of any living Rhodesian veterans of WW2?

For those who are die hard Rhodies, how do you think you world interact with other races and people? Especially when they were highly skilled, even more than you?

I wonder how mixed race people were seen in Rhodesian society. I’m mixed race myself (25% AA) and I figured I’d ask this since I’m rather curious about what sort of worldview the average Rhodesian had during those days.
