I travel through stories,
yet never read a word.
I remember exactly where you stopped,
though I know nothing of where you’ve been.
I may be paper, ribbon, leather,
or occasionally a leaf someone trusted far too much.
Close the world and I wait.
Open it, and I quietly return you to the place you left behind.

Who did they see?
