Planning to buy a River Indie for delivery +family use in Mangalore - needed owner opinions
Hey everyone, I’m from Mangalore and today we test rode the River Indie for my dad. We’re planning to use it mainly for business deliveries plus regular personal use, so looking for something practical, sturdy and comfortable in the long run.
Currently we use a 2014 Access 125 and often carry around 70kg worth of bundles — usually one on the footboard and one at the back. Because of that, things like the strong build, big footboard, 14-inch wheels, chain drive, suspension, middle stand (very important for us), and overall planted feel really stood out on the River.
My dad is a pretty calm rider, not aggressive at all, and rarely does very long rides because of the heat here. So the claimed real-world range of around 110–125 km seems sufficient for our use case. He also liked that it uses a chain drive setup and that bike feel.
We also tried the Ather Rizta Z 3.7 kWh, which he liked too, but after riding both he personally preferred the River’s stance, looks, comfort and overall rugged/utilitarian feel.
One thing we specifically asked the showroom/service center about was load carrying. They said the company officially recommends less, but assured us the frame is very strong and should comfortably handle our delivery usage. We took a pretty long test ride and honestly the scooter felt very stable and comfortable throughout.
Service experience also seemed good here in Mangalore. They even gave us a full tour of the service center and explained their quick service process, which gave some confidence. Planning to go for the grey color and probably the 8-year warranty too.
This is the quotation we got (includes insurance +1500 referral + ₹1500 cash discount instead of the helmet apparently).
There they subtracted 9k again as we thought we will buy the extended warranty after 3 months of time.

Floor mat(themed)
Also getting the 750W charger included.
