Why doesn’t Plex Jellyfin and Emby Work on Roku?

I cannot for the life of me get any of these to work! Luckily we have a few onn devices and Google TVs. But still. I would love to still use our Rokus. We’re tired of mirroring etc. or downloading content just to play it via hdmi-usb c cables. Please help us. Thanks!

Can I lock my TV from phone remotes?

Sorry if the title doesn't make sense. I have a large family and a lot of siblings and everyone seems to think it's funny to remotely mess with my TV when I'm trying to watch something. It's incredibly annoying. I'm wondering if it's possible to keep people from connecting their phone to the TV or so only my phone can?? Any help is appreciated.

Quick Access tile order

Opted for the new Home Screen on my Roku Ultra. I kind of like the quick access, but I have a question. There are 8 quick access apps, most are in the order I would use them from most used to least used except 1. the 1 app I use by far more than the others is placed in the eighth position, why is that? Why would it not be in the first position?

Is the Pause function broken on anybody else's Roku

About a month or two back the Pause feature on my Roku broke. It keeps proceeding with the paused show in the background, so that when I hit play it jumps forward to where I would have been without pausing.

Issue with ROKU television and Direct TV stream 4k

I have a less than one year old Roku television. I watch FIFA World Cup in 4 k on direct tv stream app. There is no hdmi as it’s a Roku TV. When watching the game in 4K the screen turns black. The TV is not off as I can still control volume etc. similarly having issues watching 4K Baseball recordings on the cloud dvr. Randomly freezes and glitchy. Zero issues on non 4 K content. So is it the app that needs a fix? No update available by the way. Removed and re-downloaded again the app. Still occurring. Internet WiFi very strong. Please advise.

Help with Roku home screen

So, my Roku homescreen didn't update, but it did do this. Can anyone tell me how to get it back to being three across? I'm autistic and small changes like this make me uncomfortable

World Cup 2026 France v Paraguay "Currently unavailable"

Total bust on this match. Fox One has really messed up. The support person at Roku couldn't say much but reading between the lines was pretty frustrated with Fox. Told me a lot of similar complaints had arrived. This happened in the round of 16. How's it going to be in the quarters, semis and final? The tech cancelled my Fox One account and gave me a refund. Since I'd only signed up for the WC matches, this works for me. I'm going to Peacock and the Spanish commentators.

Hide Quick Access and Your Apps goes back to the top

Then it's the same as before, basically, innit? With QA on, YA is at the bottom. Turn it off, YA is the first thing, you can still move the icons around, but now you can also change the size of them.

Edit: You can't add inputs. So I turned QA back on, removed everything but inputs, and sort YA in reverse order so my favorite apps are at the bottom. Then I press up from QA to go to the bottom row of YA. How annoying

Fandango will not stop trying to launch on its own on fathers roku t.v.

My dads currently going through cancer treatment. Chemo and radiation so he can't do much of anything besides watch t.v. and his roku t.v. has started trying to launch fandango constantly while he is watching other apps. I factory reset the t.v. and it only made it worse. We've never used the app either of us. If fandango isn't installed it will just automatically take you to the store to install. T.v. is literally unusable because of it. Once you get backed out of it its just a few minutes before it does it again. He's getting really frustrated with it which is the last thing he needs atm.

Loathe the new Roku TV update.

I don't know if actual Roku designers will ever see this, but I implore you to undo your new update. Adding more stuff to the home screen does not IMPROVE the experience! Your clean interface and lack of blasting me with adds is specifically why I chose you over an Amazon TV. A TV should be a TV, not an ad platform to shove movie rentals and streaming services in your face. Get out of here with that nonsense.

Compare your original interface with the new one, and then take a look at Amazon TV, or game interfaces like Marval Rivals, Call of Duty Home, Battlefield 6, or Fortnite. They're all atrocious and frankensteins of digital design. This new interface may be more subtle, but it could definitely set you down the same path as these other terrible design choices.

/endrant

Edit: Wow this kinda blew up more than I expected...so let me voice one other thing. Roku, instead of redesigning your home screen that nobody (probably) asked for, how about you add a function so that USB devices can optionally be read from automatically instead of having to wait for the prompt to come up EVERY time, which may or may not even work properly?

Not Adding Apps

I've been trying to download Disney+ to my Roku and it keeps telling me it cannot download. I have tried resetting that tv, made sure I am connected to the internet, and I have more than enough storage space. So what gives? Seems ridiculous that it allows me to download certain apps but not others

Did the Roku update completely nuke anyone else's TV?

Connects to Wifi in settings with "Excellent" signal strength, then when I open any apps, it says no connection. Try to restart many times through different channels, nothing. Try to factory reset, connects to wifi, updates itself, now can't connect to the Wifi at all to even sign into my Roku account.

I try to connect to the Wifi again, it says it's connected, it checks for software updates, then says it can't update the software. It can't even generate the QR code to let me sign into my account.

Anyone also encounter this particularly with the new update?

Roku Streambar glitching since new update??

I have Roku TVs and Roku stream bars connected to said-TVs and we love them. However, since the new update there has been this very strange glitch
where the sound works but the display zooms into the top left corner of the screen. It doesn’t do it all the time, but it does at least once a day and the only way to reverse it is to factory reset it every single time. It’s absolutely maddening.

Anyone having this issue? Better yet, anyone fixed this issue??

Weird channel recently installed on my Roku?

Got home from work today, sat down to watch Netflix, and noticed a channel I don’t remember installing. It’s using the Jellyfin icon, and opening it just prompts to connect to a server.

I’ve tried removing it several different ways and nothing’s worked. I tried removing it through the channel options menu on the home screen, removing it through the channel details screen in the Roku app by searching its name, as well as a full factory reset.

Does anyone know how to remove it? Thanks in advance.

Roku tv keeps dimming randomly

Hi, I have been all over the internet searching for the answers. Before I try support I thought I should ask this community. I live in this apartment that came with the tv. I am not allowed to remove it and the landlords are not going to replace it. It is a TCL tv and I have no idea how old it is but it keeps giving me this really annoying issue where it will quickly dim and then go back to normal. It doesnt happen all the time but it happens often enough that I have no idea wether we will be able to enjoy time with the tv or not and when it starts it keeps dimming every so often that it makes movies unwatchable and games unplayable. I have been all over the settings numerous times and cannot figure out what setting has anything to do with it. At this point I wonder if any if them really do. At first, adjuating the dynamic contrast would work. And the first time I did, (turned it off) I was so relieved I thought I fixed it. Then a couple weeks later it started again. I went to the settings and the contrast was set on high. So I set it back to off. Seemed fixed. Then it happened again awhile later and this time the setting was off so I changed it to low. Seemed fixed. Next time it happened so I changed it again. It would keep happening and it seemed that all I had to do was toggle the dynamic contrast to SOMETHING and then it would be fine. Now toggling doesnt even matter at all. Now it just seems that the issue will start up randomly and go away randonly but when it starts up it will last for the entirety of whatever activity we are using the tv for. Its like a gamble now to see if it will do it when we turn the tv on or not. Sometimes its right away, sometimes its anywhere from 15 min to an hour+ in. Turning the tv off and on again has no effect. I'm just at a loss. Why ia this happening? How do I fix this? Please do not say to just get a new tv. I literally do not have the authority to do so. I just hope theres some real way to fix it. Thanks

I took a video if it but cant seem ti attach it here

Can I disable the Mic button?

Roku remote came with my Ultra 24. Can I disable the Mic button? I never use it. I am annoyed when I accidentally press it instead of the Play/Pause button (which is right below it) and have to wait 5 seconds for remote functionality to return.

New Home Screen

I have not yet had the delight of the new home screen, and don’t want to force the update to answer this question myself. So can anyone that has the new home screen, tell me if you can still select the power on input?

Previously, I have been able to set the power on option to go to a certain input like HDMI one. Thereby I could have the TV power on for my parents and just go to their cable box because they don’t stream anything anyway.

I was thinking that If I don’t like the new user interface, I could do the same thing and just put an Apple TV (or some other yet to be decided on) snappy, clean GUI device on HDMI one and never have to see any of the Roku interface ever again.
