Easy br1 and br4 courses rotman yr 1
Anyone know any "bird courses" for both yr1 fall and winter.
Anyone know any "bird courses" for both yr1 fall and winter.
I'm looking at my options for second year course selection and I'm not sure about what I should do, hoping I can get some advice. I'm finance and econ specialist and still undecided for a focus maybe data sci or international business
Would it be better if I take RSM270 in fall semester and then RSM260 in winter semester and why?
What is the RSM elective and what do second years usually take for it?
Should you be taking RSM332 in the winter semester or is there a better option?
And do you have to follow the elective schedule exactly by taking only RSM elective in fall semester and either RSM or non-RSM elective in winter semester?
Trying to pick between the ECO204 sections and could use some upper-year wisdom.
Situation: I'll be doing an in-person unpaid internship during the fall semester (roughly daytime hours), so realistically I won't be able to attend most fall classes. In the winter I'll be back to attending normally. It's a full-year course so I only need to survive one rough semester.
The options as I see them:
- Turner (evening section) — from the timing, hers is basically the only lecture I could physically make if I get off work in time (~5–7 PM). Her section also seems to have no participation/attendance grade, which helps for fall.
- Khazra (9 am / morning) — better reviews overall and her section has the "final can replace your lowest term test" rule, but attendance is mandatory and there's a participation grade I'd lose marks on during fall.
- Lagziel (11–1) — timing conflicts with work and he seems untested (no reviews).
Given that I'll be mostly self-studying the fall regardless, which section would you pick? Main things I care about: being able to keep up while working (recorded lectures, forgiving structure), and not getting wrecked grade-wise. Also open to any general ECO204 study tips.
Thanks!
Just curious what people’s course enrollment times are? I’m a second-year Rotman student and I got 12:15 on July 13th. is this late?
I have 11:15am on July 16th, is this one of the earliest times, or does the first person in line rn have like a 7am session? Not sure if I’m cooked or not.
Not sure if this is only happening to me. I am an incoming second year rotman student and my acorn has given me first year enrollment time which is July 8th. As opposed to the 2nd year July 13th time. I have passed all of my GA requirements but acorn still shows 2026fall-2027winter for me as first year rotman. Is this something I should be concern about?
What did you guys get for the enrolment time?
Hi guys, i'm an incoming first year and wanted to know more about CMAP. What is the application process like? How many rounds and how should I prep?
I'm taking eco101 next semester, which of the following profs should I choose?
A. Kripa Freitas
B. Loran Brandt
Those are the only two options from last yr. Rate my profs gives both of these profs terrible grades so.........
Hello, incoming fourth-year here.
I need to choose two of the following finance courses from the second credit group, and I’m not entirely sure which ones to take. Does anyone have recommendations on which of the below I should avoid or would be the least difficult?
RSM430 (Fixed Income Securities) with Prof. Fontili Tolias
RSM432 (Risk Management) with Prof. Nicolas Inostroza Padilla
RSM434 (Financial Trading Strategies) with Prof. Eric Kang
Thanks!
I’m an incoming first year student and I’ve been hearing that clubs are one of the most important parts about getting good jobs and really staying on track in Rotman. I’ve also heard that RCFA and TSIC are the best clubs at Rotman to pursue a degree in finance. Does anyone know anybody I can reach out that are in any of these clubs that would be willing to give a first year like me a chance to get to know the environment better? I’d appreciate any help coming my way!
I would love some feedback about my schedule.
The VIC classes can't move around.
I was wondering about my RSM230 class. I've picked 9am, because I am a morning person (have no problem waking up at 7 or 8 am) and wouldn't want to just have one class in the middle of the day as it would just ruin the whole day. And It would be great if people who did take RSM230 at 9 would share their experience.
Thanks.
Guys what are the best clubs in rotman. I heard RCFA is one of the best clubs and most helpful one!
im a bc student for context
so i got into rotman at uoft and when i applied all my grades were mid 90s but a family situation cams up around term 2 and basically I bombed a lot of my courses. My top 6 average is still like a high 80 low 90 but my AP Calc mark is a 67…. My calc 12 mark is 92 tho…. Will this affect my offer??
so for context i was accepted to rotman at uoft back in january. i was taking geography 12 at the time but it wasn't used to issue the offer. then for midterm i got a 92, and the report card was uploaded to uoft. now it ends up with a 72, and im just wondering if that will make my offer revoked. for additional contexts i had 94% avg for top 6 classes, which i finished before january
does anyone have any advice for eco220 and eco204? i’m going into second year and i’m not great with econ :( should i get a tutor? should i be reading the textbooks often?
I wan to pursue a cs minor, but that would require both of my year 1 electives (csc148, csc165) to be breadth 5, which is not one of the missing 1 and 4 from rotman courses.
Basically my title. I have a course I want to take but it conflicts with both RSM324 tutorials, I looked at the syllabus but it does not mention anything about tutorial attendance. Was wondering if anyone knew if it was marked or not
