Rubik’s cube phone cases are actually cool or just too much?

I saw a cube-themed phone case recently and couldn’t decide whether it’s genuinely cool or one of those things only cubers appreciate 😅

Would you actually use a Rubik’s cube phone case as your daily case, or keep it more as a collector/display thing?

Stuck solving a 4x4 with an intuitive method.

Hello all, I did a search but couldn't find anything close to my problem.

I learned to solve the 3x3 cube using Leila Gharani's video on YouTube. My husband got me a 4x4 for my birthday and I have been able to solve it until the third layer. I cannot make the yellow cross work. I solve the 4x4 using the method in the rubik channel (centers, edges) the solve it like a 3x3. The steps from Leila's video are such (and i learned with hers, because she used a bit of a more intuitive approach. So i understand how things work until step 4 (from then on is an algorithm. But it has simple steps, and it is always the same)

  1. first the daisy

  2. pairing the centers

  3. finish solving second layer.

(Until here I can solve it as I do with the 3x3)

  1. yellow cross (algorithm)

  2. align center of 3rd layer (algorithm)

  3. make sure all corner pieces match right colour (algorithm)

  4. last step, turn cube around to white side, last algorithm, done.

I'm stuck when it comes to the yellow cross and solving the third layer, because the algorithm doesn't seem to work for a 4x4.

I like the idea of having a "roadmap" to solve it, even if it takes longer and not have to relearn solving the cube the "speedrun" way, memorising tons of moves. Do you have any videos you can direct me to, preferably someone who solves cubes in a similar way? I have watched a few already, but they either skip those steps and just explain the parity at the end or go about it with the "speed cube" (like super fast tournament) approach.

Thank you!

In another try I had the centers done (like it turned out that way) and could make the cross work, but couldn't reassign the edges (step 6) I sadly didn't take any pictures, but had a smallish video.

Will the diy UV coated cube last forever on my stickerless cube?

Hello, I'm planning to DIY UV coat my cube tomorrow, I'm planning to do it with a high-quality UV resin craft and UV light instead of a gel top coat and UV light. If I UV coated my cube manually, will it last forever until my cube breaks? Or will the UV coat wear off after months?

Solving my first Rubik’s cube

In the video I’m watching after he fixes the white corners, all the bottom sides are the same. But two of my sides look like this. What am I doing wrong?

n00b tip: speed cube

I’ve been learning and practicing the beginner’s method for almost three weeks. I was getting so frustrated by the slow pace of my progress. I was using a new, standard 3x3. About two weeks in, I bought a “speed cube” at Target, where they only carry the Rubik’s brand. (I know there are more popular brands out there.)

I was shocked by what a huge difference this switch made. I felt like everything finally clicked. (Maybe because it literally clicks!) I was exerting so much effort in manipulating the cumbersome other cube that I was completely missing the tactile response part of the learning process.

Ys3m vs Wrm v9

Similarity

-55mm(I prefer)

-maglev(I prefer)

-turquoise internals💚

-both good price👍

Difference

Ys3m

-matte(I prefer)

-tactile(I prefer)

-blocky(I prefer)

-heavy(I don't like)

-some say it's slow(I don't like)

-good logo design(pretty important to me)

Wrm v9

-uv coating

-flexible

-fast(I prefer)

-edgerepulsion(idk never tried)

-bad logo design

I have no idea how I got here

I solve this all the time and I’ve never seen only 2 yellow edges be unsolved (the 2 flipped green edge pieces were because of low light)

Superflip looks sick on the mirror 5x5

A bit harder to appreciate on a pic, but definitely very nice

Is there a simple way to rotate the 3 middle blocks? Basically the need to be 180 from where they are

The star is quite frustrating and trying to avoid having to re do the 3rd layer if possible.

I already know 11 PLLs, but learning the rest feels too overwhelming. Should I do so anyway or is this enough?

I already know:

  1. Ua
  2. Ub
  3. Aa
  4. Ab
  5. Ja
  6. Jb
  7. T
  8. Y
  9. F
  10. H
  11. Z

That's already half of full PLL, but I am struggling with the rest of the algorithms because it feels overwhelming to learn and I can't seem to find a way to connect them with the ones I already know. If anyone knows a way to make it more manageable to learn, I would really appreciate advice. My average is sub-30 with intuitive F2L, 2-look OLL, and 11 PLLs.

Some pretty cool patterns I did

I love the effect on the 4x4 and 5x5 on the right when it seems to be a 1 cube smaller cube inside with the dot pattern, very cool !

Every time i try to solve this Dodecahedron it always ends up like this. (I need help)

When this happens i just turn the corners forcefully.

Is the Gan 16 Maglev Max good?

I'm using the Qiyi M Pro V2 Flagship and it kinda sucks. I don't like frosted matte but otherwise it's acttually knida average. I'm thinking on getting the Gan 16 Maglev Max bc I saved a lot and I kinda wanna spend money. I'm like ~35 so yeah should I get it?

Cube cases??

I have recently been into cubes, and is trying to find a case that will help from scratches or drops(as in like those gan cases)but it seems that there is none??I've only managed to find some cases as in bags for loading cubes

What are the chances of this?

I wanted to solve the cube, im using the beginner method but i messed up doing the 2nd layer so i scrambled it while looking away. When i looked back, the cube was in this state. Can anyone calculate the chances of this happening?
