New to Rubik’s cubes

New to Rubik’s cubes

Hello! I am new to Rubik’s cubes and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for tutorials? I am neurodivergent and have autism along with other things and I have difficulty when it comes to processing instructions sometimes when it comes to tutorials. I was wondering if there are any autism friendly tutorials that are step by step and very clear instructions that can be understood with those with processing issues! I really want to try and learn to solve my Rubik’s cube my brother recently got me for my birthday I mixed it up but have been unable to solve it and it’s making me feel a little dumb. I really want to be able to solve the cube since it seems like a great fidget for when I am feeling anxious. I tried asking my brothers to teach me but they said that following a tutorial would be better. Also any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. (Please be kind also and don’t make fun of me for not being able to solve the basic Rubik’s cube since I am self conscious and have dealt with bullying in the past when it comes things)! Thank you so much and have a great day!

PS here’s a photo of the cube with my stuffed animal named Piggy showing it off!

Need ideas for my next puzzle

Hi everyone!

My MakerWorld page is mostly dedicated to 3D-printable Rubik's-style puzzles. I'm currently thinking about designing a Hexagon 1 (similar to the one in the picture). The model shown isn't mine, but I'd be designing my own version completely from scratch.

Before I start, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is this something you'd be interested in printing, or are there other twisty puzzles you'd rather see me design instead?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions, whether they're WCA puzzles, shape mods, or something more unique.

Here's my MakerWorld page for reference: https://makerworld.com/en/@user\_2130879308

Save Clock Campaign Appears Outside NAC 2026 Venue

A mobile video truck outside the North American Championship displayed messages urging the WCA to keep Clock as an official event.

The truck showed several rotating messages, including “WCA: Turn Back the Clock,” “Keep WCA Fun! Save Clock,” and “The Community Has Spoken. Will WCA Listen?” The displays also included a QR code linking viewers to a petition calling for Clock to be reinstated.

It is not yet clear whether the WCA will revisit the decision. For now, the truck outside NAC shows that the effort to keep Clock official has moved beyond online discussion and into a public campaign at one of the largest competitions of the year.

What is the most annoying "3x3" cube to solve?

Alright so i've gotten into solving these puzzles for about a year now and its like a fun fidget toy in my eyes. I can solve them consistently. But the "Mirror cube" has the the most annoying for me to solve. I always viewed these has the basic 3x3 with a twist and they are fun the the constant feelings and feeling of turning the cube is hindered by the mirror. Any cube that are simple yet annoying to solve you guys know of?

The 13 Zodiac signs on 13x13x13 Rubik's Cube

This is the 4th group of 13 patterns I've made on this cube (previous groups: 1-13 14-26 27-39).

Even though there are officially only 12 Zodiac signs, I added a 13th sign (Ophiuchus ⛎︎), because... well, this Rubik’s Cube has 13 layers.

Nine-year-old gave me a muscle memory challenge...

Background: I have arthritis, and cubing helps loosen things up. I solve in about a minute and realistically will never get much faster than that.

My nine-year-old niece is under 30 seconds and rapidly improving. She gave me a challenge: make a single move. Put the cube down and read a sentence from a book out loud. Repeat until solved.

I couldn't do it! Turns out that I had some sequences of moves in muscle memory and couldn't reliably see the pattern if interrupted part way through.

Challenge accepted. I started practicing and now can solve the 3x3 either way.

How to solve the last layer? I've followed tutorials, read up guides and EVEN while following them I mess up a lot. Any alternative methods that are easier? (more below)

I've watched 2 tutorials THOROUGHLY and the first one WAS helping until it wasn't. The second one just didn't work and third was a guide that I really liked but even that I keep failing with.

My thing is, I understand the moves that I have to do but I don't understand the logic behind them and I wish tutorials talked more about that than just the robotic R⬆️U⬇️ etc.

I can do the first two layers just fine. Then I can get the corner pieces of the top(yellow) layer correct. But sometimes it's just 2 edge pieces that are in the wrong places and i go to the tutorials/guides to correct it, it just gets all scrambled again!

I know Niklas Sune moves but don't understand them.

and the one move that corrects the corner pieces in the correct way after they're in the correct position (this one was so easy to understand. logic and algorithm!) R⬇️ Bottom⬅️ R⬆️Bottom➡️

I dont know why but i just keep messing up at the yellow cross / edges. Getting the yellow corners is the easiest for me as of now.

is there an easier way to do this? maybe the layer by layer method isn't for me if there are other ones which I might understand better?

Not a person I thought I'd take on a boat trip

On Monday I got to take Ernő Rubik on a boat trip in the Norwegian fjord. He was in Drammen to make a documentary about Neuro divergency and speed cubing. The producer of the film wanted to give him a special memory and so me and my father took him and the crew out on the fjord in an 80 year old Norwegian fishing boat. They brought with them a chef and we ate dinner together and talked. We asked if Ernő would like to swim, but it was "not his favorite past time".

I now have two signed cubes on the top of my shelf in the living room. I feel lucky and the world sure is a small place.

Tiled Rubik's branded professor 5x5?

Hello everyone, I have been a bit of a rubik's brand purist (I like the black border on the tiles aesthetic) but have never gotten a 5x5 because of it being stickers instead of tiles.
But recently I have seen that there is a few stores that market the 5x5 as "Stickerless: the traditional stickers have been replaced with plastic tiles" but it isn't that way on amazon (the only place where I can find it in stock that delivers to where I live).

are the claims legit? has anyone here seen a rubik's branded professor that uses tiles instead of stickers and should I try to get it?
