Windmill single center rotated 90°

Windmill single center rotated 90°

Everywhere I look, I read that this is impossible, yet here I am a second time with a single center rotated 90° and no, it can't be twisted.

How do people learn Algorythms?

You have to learn like 8 Algorythms at least just solve a 3x3. I know that it gets a lot harder if you want to be quicker but it wont get in my head how someone can learn 8 Algorythms with a length of up to 7 or 8 inputs and remember exactly what each one does and when to use it.

August 2026 Bulk Scramble!

Big thanks to everyone for all of the love on my post last week. After about 12 and a half hours, spread out over the past 7 days or so, my entire collection is once again scrambled, all 280 puzzles! I find scrambling everything to be a great way to ensure that every puzzle in my collection gets some play time, even the more difficult and tedious ones. I had a blast scrambling everything.

Check out my YouTube vid if you want to see a more detailed tour of the puzzles before and after the scramble.

Need help (4x4)

I am not sure if I accidentally twisted a corner or two; if yes please tell.

I am 2 hrs in learning to solve a 4x4. So I am not that proficient in algorithms. I was following youtube tutorials, but they didn't tackle this issue. If you hv any videos regarding this, please tell.

Thank you

How to advance from beginners method?

Hey all! I recently just began learning how to solve a Rubik's cube - just as a fun little skill to take on - and have now got the hang of the beginners method and doing that from memory.

I'm not very quick, however, and my best time is 1 minute 29s. I feel like there has to be something I'm missing, or a more advanced method to solving? Would anyone have any advice of where to look to progress from here and advance some more, because I am honestly clueless! Thanks!

Edit: Thank you all for the kind responses! I'm currently getting the hang of the F2L technique (so much quicker!!) 😊

I got my first Rubiks Cube today. I have never solved one. Any Advice?

I know the first step is the white cross. But i cant really aply this to my cube since it has different colors. But i guess it doesnt really matter where i start.

I did my first Rubiks Cube 😍

My dad gifted me one yesterday. Because some nice people in this sub told me a picture Cube is harder than a regular one i decided to look up a beginners guide

This one:

https://www.rubiks.com/solution-guides/rubiks-picture-cube

The Guide is really good for beginners! I had to start over 3 times or something because i messed uo the last step (rotating the middle pieces).

That was fun but i think i will buy a regular one😅

Axis Cube Last layer Faceing

Hey Cube Nerds... So I'm trying to solve the Axis Cube with the conventional beginner's method. The white cross, the white corners, rotate the cube with the yellow face upwards, locate the second layer edge pieces, last layer yellow cross, face all the yellow sides upwards, rearrange the corners into position then finally rotate the edge pieces into their correct locations.

Here's my problem with the Axis Cube. How can you tell when all the yellow faces are oriented in the correct direction? With a standard cube the yellow face would appear completely yellow but the outer sides would look incorrect. With the axis Cube I can't tell when all the pieces are rotated the right way.

PS: I oriented the center pieces after the first layer with a center rotation algorithm. I'm not really a speed cuber, I generally try to solve them as intuitively with as few memorized algorithms as possible.

Thanks🙏

How many people have solved the Rubix cube without any notes/guides?

I tried google searching and found that nearly nobody has ever solved the cube without using meticulous notes and/or guides.

Is this true?

Which cube should be my next?

I'm considering the square-1 but i also really like the square-2. i tried to find videos that talk about the best version but i couldn't find any credible videos that were posted within a year. what do you guys think? should i get the square 1 or 2? do you have any specific recommendations for either puzzle? my budget is ~$20.
