Are rugged phones really worth it on your opinnion?

I recently bought a used ulefone armor 18.

This IS My first rugged phone and I'm not sure what to think about it yet. What IS your opinnion about rugged phones? Especially curious about long term use and how's The battery holding up. Thanks in advance.

Thermal phone recommendations? Real use experiences?

I'm looking for something that can be used for looking at engines, house windows, hiking, animals in the woods and maybe even ghosts. Something decent for multiple uses.

I've had a couple of the dongles but they rather suck. They feel floppy and make the phone very awkward to hold.

Delivery rider here. Can any of these phone survive heavy storm and rain?

I'm from the Philippines. I'm a delivery rider and my phone just broke because its IP68 resistance degraded and water destroyed the LCD but the battery is fine, it's a redmi 13 pro plus 5G and back then this can survive a storm and overheating but now it can't since it's been abused for three years. I need a new phone that's waterproof and drop proof as well. I'm trying to deliver food while raining and sadly I don't think my phones are water proof and I need to buy a rugged phone.

I'm planning to buy the cheapest rugged phone with 5g, good navigation, and a decent camera.

Can anyone help me choose which to save up for?

Best Unlocked US Option?

I am interested in a phone running Android 16 and capable of use on most US networks.

Heavier and bigger is better. I want a huge battery.

Thermal imaging is cool but not needed.

More physical RAM is a great thing 12 minimum, 16+ preferred for work software.

I see Doogee, Oukitel, and some other brands.

What could best replace my Pixel Pro 9 XL (I've broken 6 of these Pixels in 4 years.

Camera quality is cool but not the end of the world.

Satellite would be a huge plus as well.

I would like to be able to throw it off a motorcycle at 120mph and watch it get ran over by a Semi with no issues (yes this has happened more than once.)

Any thoughts? Cost really isn't a consideration.

Ulefone Armor 34 Pro+ — does the microSD slot support exFAT and files over 4 GB?

Hey guys, I’m considering buying the Ulefone Armor 34 Pro+ (16 GB / 512 GB), but I want to confirm something about the microSD support before buying.

I’ve seen reports about some other Ulefone Armor phones having problems with exFAT, meaning the SD card has to be FAT32 and therefore has the stupid 4 GB individual file-size limit.

Can anyone who actually owns an Armor 34 Pro or Armor 34 Pro+ confirm:

Does it read/write exFAT-formatted microSD cards?

Have you successfully copied a single file larger than 4 GB to/from the SD card?

What size/card are you using (512 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, etc.)?

Does Android let you format the card as exFAT itself, or did you format it on a PC?

I’m specifically interested in real-world confirmation from an owner, rather than the advertised “supports up to 2 TB” specification.

Thanks.

Rugged phone for casual use?

Today I finally managed to break the screen jn my BL9000 after tormenting the phone for about 2 and a half years (I am actually typing it on the aforementioned phone because even with the glass cracked all over and display leaking in one corner the mad bastard refuses to cease to work) I was looking for something newer since BL9000 runs on android 13 but... I haven't found anything to my liking. The thing is - BL9000 was in many ways just right for me - it was just rugged enough to be durable and at the same time fit in the pocket of my jeans. And it has just the look which doesn't scream "I am made just for work" - it looked elegantly like an everyday phone, just more sturdy and I find it hard to find something like this.

Could you recommend something? I am using my phone mostly for browsing the internet and watching youtube and only using it for work so my only requirements are: it has to have 5g, preferably newer/newish android because of the banking and all, it has to be rugged (because i am clumsy and drop my phone alone and sometimes use it in construction work), big battery because I work sometime 18 hours straight,

It would be nice if it had amoled display, fast charging and preferably have a software tad bit more reliable than bl9000 because sometimes it was bugged

Thank you in advance for your recommendations! ^^
