Should I get Rust Console on my Xbox Series X?

I haven’t been able to find any videos showing if Rust Console is now more like the original version. Im just wondering if it’s still a rough around the edges, low poly game. I really want to get it but don’t know if I should wait or something. If someone can tell me about it I‘d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Please tell me what to do. I bought Rust on Xbox and I can’t connect to any servers (official, Xbox, community)... I’m getting the following errors.

Please tell me what to do. I bought Rust on the Hoh server and can't connect to any server (official, Xbox, community). Even if I manage to connect, the world simply won't load, and I'm thrown back to the main menu with the message "WARNING! Disconnected - Connection timed out.Return to main menu." I've tried everything, but the game keeps giving me these errors.

Into the Rust rabbit hole

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo player on Rust Console Edition, mainly playing on South American (SA) servers and I’m looking for some advice from experienced solo players.
This game really interests me and I genuinely want to get good at it but right now I feel pretty lost once I’ve got my starter base down in a location I like. I can usually get established, get some basic gear, and build a small base but after that I’m never really sure what my priorities should be.
A few things I’d love help with:
What’s a solid solo progression strategy after getting a starter base down?
What monuments should I be focusing on as a solo?
How do you decide when to farm, roam, or run monuments?
Any tips for making consistent scrap and progressing to better weapons?
I’m also absolutely terrible with the crossbow and PvP in general.
How did you improve your aim and game sense?
What weapons should a newer player be practicing with?
Any solo PvP tips for winning more fights or surviving longer?
On top of that, I’m a full-blown bot when it comes to scientists. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve never really progressed beyond a revolver, if I’m bringing the wrong gear, or if I’m approaching monuments completely wrong, but I get absolutely rolled by them. Any advice on fighting scientists as a solo would be hugely appreciated.
I’d also appreciate any general Rust tips that helped you improve when you were new. I watch videos, but a lot of advice seems aimed at PC players.

Thanks in advance. I’m really enjoying the game and want to stick with it, but at the moment I feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure what I should be doing after the early game. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to outlast everyone else on the server.

You get on rust, it's wipe day. You run around, hit up some monuments, farm, and get a nice starter base down. You have a great start, and log off feeling confident that you will do even better tomorrow. You get home from your day and log in, excited to see what the day has to bring, only to realize you have been offlined by a big group and lost everything. Sound familiar? Well I can tell you how you can avoid this, and outlast every single person on the server. I personally have about 4k hours, and have played many wipes all the way through in the same base, or until I get bored of the server and give my base away. I have made many large groups quit their wipe early with my shenanigans.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is how you build your base. Never ever build a base with any common footprint, or any base posted on YouTube. This is a surefire way to give your loot away as efficiently as possible. When you are building your base, there are a ton of different things you can do to make raiders never touch your base again after they fail to raid you.

Step one: Base Layout

When I build a base, I usually build it in a weird spot (against a cliff, in a rock, something like that). The more abstract and stupid looking your base is, the better. I usually have a triangle as close to the rock im against as I can get to put my tc in. Then, I just kind of go with the flow and build abunch of random shit. Have lots of honeycomb, doorpaths that lead to nowhere, stuff like that. Have as many shotgun traps, auto turrets, and flame turrets as you can fit in your base. Lock every single box, fridge, anything you can. Anything you can do to frustrate and slow the raiders down is good. Another thing that Is very important is having external tc's. This insures you will never lose your base. I use brain boxes as my externals, but usually dont keep loot in them. I usually build them out of metal, some even armored. I usually have two that use a shopfront, and put a box and a weapon rack with a rocket launcher in it. This really makes raiders question if your loot is in your base, or in the brain boxes. You should also have at least two smaller bases right next to your base (I usually do a farm base & a car garage). I also like to build a few empty 1x2's and a honeycombed 2x2 near my base. This adds even more confusion to where your loot is stored, and lowers the chances of someone raiding your big beefy main base.

Step two: hide your loot

Some people think this is a bitch move, but I think as a solo you should to whatever you can to fight off these big groups that think they run shit. My go to is hiding my most valuable loot (boom and sulfur, and a starter kit like a t3, a few kits, and base mats) inside my honeycomb with drop boxes and a bag. I build it on the least likely side of my base to be raided, and always break the drop boxes before i get off using jackhammers (use drop boxes to transfer loot to and from this hidden room). I usually place boxes in front of this wall aswell, so raiders really wouldn't think to look there. I also put Dropboxes on my walls leading into the honeycomb inside my base on the opposite side of my base from the hidden room. This is to make raiders think my loot could be in the walls, and they will waste boom raiding into these spots. My main loot is also usually towards the front entrance of my base, because once you get a big base people are highly unlikely to doorpath a base like this. I've had boxes of ak's behind one stone wall, got pummeled, and didn't lose anything because raiders always go for the core. Hide your loot in the base away from your core, and the most prized stuff in your walls.

Step three: annoy those to annoy you

Do you have a big group that's constantly killing you or waiting at your base when you get back fron a farm run? Are they door camping you? Well, I can give you some ideas to make them stop. Craft a shit load of landmines, wood floor spikes, watch towers, ladders, and go place them all around their base/on their base. Build a big tower and shoot incendiary rockets onto their roof so they cant roofcamp or take heli. Cover their shooting floor windows, their doors, anything you can in ladders. Also, ensure you tc grief their base before you do this (preferably metal if not armored). They will eventually give up and leave you alone, no one wants to deal with someone as ratty as that. Now if you do this, be aware that there is a high likelihood that this group will come offline you, but you have made all the preparations I have mentioned so you have nothing to worry about.

Step 4: enjoy a peaceful solo life

After this big group comes to raid you, and they do, they will spend rows and rows, maybe boxes of rockets trying to find your loot in your unsuspecting solo base that looks like it was built by an idiot. Little do they know, this base is a machine designed to withstand more boom than any console group on vanilla usually has. They usually get off after this. I have personally had one very successful wipe where I was raided around 7 times after i completed my base, each time the group used over 100 rockets, and never got anything valuable. That base stood for 3 weeks until the server died and I gave it away. I have been raided 40+ times with loot hidden in my walls and not once has it been found. This, to me, is a very fun way to play rust. Its kind of like being a cockroach that the rest of the server just can't kill.

What is this base

It’s right next to a big compound, is it a farming base or just like extra storage or smth

Cave electricity

Does anybody know how to get electricity into the large hard cave? Specifically the room to the left after the spike trap (where the back comes out to the bucket)

4.5K Map Opinions

How are y’all liking the strictly 4.5K maps?

Personally, I wish they would have kept 3K servers as well… or at least had 150 pop released at the same time. Things are feeling much more dull and the map just feels barren.
