Gauge cluster finally bit it!

I lost rpm reading about 4 months ago, now the most important gauge is stuck at 140 mph… I’m happy to announce if this happens to your the car will start and drive just fine without it! However I can’t guarantee this after 2009.

My first mustang, need some help/ advice

Hey yall, I just purchased a 2005 mustang gt, it's a project cars for now but I've ran into an issue. The sjb on the mustang was fried, I tried replacing it with another sjb it fixed some problems but not all. I spent over $200 getting it reprogrammed, I'm not trying to make the same mistake again, the issues are: left turn blinker is stuck blinking, high beams don't work, 3rd brake light doesn't work and the o/d off doesn't engage, other than that it runs and drives pretty smooth for an 05 with 190k mile.

Keep fixing up my 2007 V6 (192k miles) or sell it and upgrade to an EcoBoost?

Hey everyone,
Three months ago, I traded my 2002 V6 Mustang for a 2007 V6 4.0.
When I bought it, it had coolant leaking into the engine, but I managed to get it fully repaired for only $500. Since then, it’s been running surprisingly smooth with no major issues.
However, a couple of things are popping up now:
It needs a front suspension replacement.
There’s a noticeable rattling noise on cold starts (timing chain cassette issue, maybe?).
The car currently has 192,000 miles on it.
The dilemma is that after fixing that initial engine issue myself, I’ve grown really attached to this car. But given the high mileage and the upcoming repairs, I'm torn between keeping it and putting more money into it, or selling it and upgrading to a newer EcoBoost.
What would you guys recommend doing in my situation? Appreciate any advice!

My favorite mod so far

Actually its a combo of two mods.

Hotrods cams and cut-outs. I liked the cams but the cut-outs really make them sound good.

If you haven't done cams and cut-outs I highly recommend them. Totally worth it.

A few questions

So I got an 05 GT a few months ago and its been my daily ever since. What are some things I should look out for? I also want to end up doing some modifications (cams, turbo, stuff like that), is there anything I have to do to prep the engine so it can push more power?

06 mustang gt 3v differential Bushing/mount?

Anybody have any clue what the mount could be right in the middle between the driveshaft and differential? Need help locating the part I've been stuck on it forever. Got the word that the whole back end would need to be dropped to fix that part.

[2005 Ford Mustang Gt Automatic Transmission] Suspension Issue and Other Issues I’m Curious About… Someone with More Knowledge than me please Enlighten me.

Picture One and Two Are of Passenger Side Strut Tower And Strut Stem, the left side is clearly of center and pushing out towards the road. Picture 3 and 4 are of driver side strut tower and the strut stem is perfectly centered almost. To preface I bought the car and didn’t do much or drive it much or even inspect it as much as I should have, notice car was pulling right when driving it popped the hood and seen this. Previous owner installed ford performance lowering springs on the car, aswell as an adjustable panhard bar in the back to fix the rear. No adjustable camber bolts or camber castor plates, Pictures 5-8 Are just more angles and underneath showing the springs and the front assembly so any faults can be pointed out. Pictures 10 and 11 are overhead view. 12-15 are of rear suspension. All pictures after that are spots I’m curious as to if the are disasters waiting to happen, or soon to be an issue, like the box directly underneath the rear of the car with rust, I’m curious as to what is going on with the front passenger side strut and spring, if it is unseated from its spot and can be moved back? Is The Whole thing bent??? Is it possible the previous owner did it to try to correct alignment after installing them? Previous shop said the can’t align my car cause it doesn’t fit on their rack cause it’s too low, from what you guys can see in this picture, what are my next steps going to be?? thank you to anyone who helps!

CS pedestal spoiler?

Wanting to add a CS 4-post pedestal spoiler to replace my current and Ford no longer carries. Has anyone purchased an aftermarket version they recommend? Wanting to buy it pre-painted if possible.

Got my suspension all redone in June - not quite as low as I wanted but still liking the look and the handling is significantly improved.

10.6 @ 136 ride along.

After 3 years away from drag racing I went back to the strip. Went 11.2, 10.9, 10.7, 10.7 and 10.6 trapping 135-136 MPH with mid-high 1.6 60’ .

Going back and hoping for 1.5’s in the 60’ and low 10’s in the 1/4. This pass was done at approximately 3300 DA.

Transmission fluid recommendation - 05 mustang gt manual transmission- Tremec TR-3650

I have a 2005 ford mustang gt with manual transmission and its time to do the tranny fluid change but I’m confused on what oil to use. Its a tremec TR-3650 transmission and the manual says use Motocraft mercon atf but thats discontinued and replaced with mercon V ATF. Now, when i search for this in Auto store it says this fluid is not recommended for 05 mustang gt. I looked into penzoil synchromax and Royal purple synchromesh products as well and from what i hear they definitely help you in the short run but in the long run they tend to damage the tranny because of the additives in them.
So I’m here on reddit trying to figure out what to buy. Here are the links. Keep in mind that my transmission currently has oem recommended mercon ATF which is synthetic blend and does upgrading to either RP or penzoil which are full synthetic cause issues?

  1. MERCON V ATF - https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/motorcraft/motorcraft-a-t-fluid-mercon-v-1-quart/mot0/xt5qmc?q=Motocraft+mercon+v+atf

  2. Royal purple synchromax - https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/synchromax/royal-purple-synchromax-synthetic-m-t-friction-modifier-fluid-1-quart/ryp7/synchromax?q=royal+purple+synchromax

  3. Penzoil synchromesh - https://www.autozone.com/p/pennzoil-auto-transmission-fluid-3501/265000?spps.s=4352&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:ALO:GOO:TRS:SHO:OTE:GEN:NA:ALA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad\_source=1&gad\_campaignid=22356757832&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVtqbEapzj0jKWqjJhpazMBP9&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-frTBhCvARIsADv4XY5migxlXn1bVVrAZScHRX8p3LrG-ib11A9v\_qvA9q-BeAqgJ\_XdPUYaAiD1EALw\_wcB

What to look for in a 5th Gen Mustang?

I'm looking to purchase a 5th Gen Mustang in the next few months. It won't get driven too much as I'm disabled and don't work. Basically just a few doctor appointments a month and around town. From looking around online I learned that I should avoid the first year, which is true of most cars.

I'm open to any engine, but I've also heard the 4.0 V6 isn't very good.

I'd also like to know the pros and cons of the convertible vs the hardtop. I've had convertibles before, but I'm not sure about these.

Thanks everyone!

Help me choose new wheels for my car

Hello all, currently running 245/45/18 tires on 18×8.5+0 Incubus wheels, square setup on stock suspension.

Don't mind the tires poking past fenders and want to preserve same stance while going slightly wider.

Have an 05 Roush Sport and wanted to get a wheel that looks similar to the original 5 spoke Roush chrome wheels. Those hard to find and more expensive.

Comparing two options right now on 275/40/18 tires.

  1. Stage Monroe black chrome in 18×10+15

  2. Whistler KR2s chrome in 18×10+20

These options will have approx. same stance, poke and ride height as current setup.

Like the deep dish and chrome on the KR2s. The Stage Monroe look more agressive in AI edits I have done and potentially have more brake clearance if install brake kit in future. They are also lighter. Just not a fan of the concavity and thinner spokes.

Car will not be raced on track, just fixing it up for personal pleasure on weekends.

Help me choose! Or give other wheel recommendations please. I know the Whistlers are cheaper due to material/finish but they would be an upgrade to 15+ year old wheels I have now, chrome started to peel. TIA.
